What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
drahkon replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
If they keep this up, they will become one of my favourite bands! -
Oh boy, Spec Ops: The Line. I've tried playing this game so many times because the narrative is supposed to be great. But I've dropped off it so quickly, because it plays like ass Maybe I'll get back to it someday and actually finish it...

I'm gonna say I achieved the following thanks to you Here's how it went down: Have a 5 card deck with Bash and two Dropkicks Bash to make boss vulnerable Dropkick the boss --> gain 1 Energy and draw a card (happens when the enemy is vulnerable) Dropkick the boss again --> gain 1 Energy and draw a card, which is Dropkick Dropkick the boss EVEN MORE --> gain 1 Energy and draw a motherfucking DROPKICK DROPKICK OVER AND OVER AGAIN It's a lot less exciting when you see what it actually was like: Yeah, so that's another RNG heavy trophy down.

Shit, double post. Sorry.

Ohhhh, this sounds awesome. I guess I'll have to get the game on PS5 then

"If the opportunity arises" he said, knowing full well that he was always going to immediately try to do that from the start of the run Managed to acquire several trophies: Getting those challenges done can happen in multiple ways and the easiest is a 5 card infinite deck. I got that and of course the final boss had to be Time Eater who ends your turn automatically when you play 12 cards...which ruined my chances of acquiring the "beat a boss in the first turn" trophy, as well. Time to go for an infinite deck again Also got this one just now: The Ironclad ftw. Searing Blow +11 (it's a card you can upgrade as many times as you want and it increases in power with each upgrade) won me the run easily. A few more difficult trophies are left: Beat the game with a deck containing no uncommons or rares - haven't thought about it much, but I guess The Ironclad with a Perfected Strike deck could work Defeat a boss on turn 1 - probably the most annoying one that's left other than those, completing Act 4 with all characters will definitely be a challenge. Thankfully, this can be done on Ascension 0 (will probably go with Ascension 1, though, for more elite enemies and in turn more relics) Then some random ones like "have 10 or more buffs in combat", "finish Donu with Feed", etc. Getting closer and closer to that Platinum

@Julius Can't wait to read your impressions. My mate sent his copy of Sekiro on its way to me I hope it arrives soon.

I'm not looking for soul-crushing difficulties Just a little bit of challenge. I like Kirby but all of its games I've played so far kind of felt like a slog to me. Maybe tomorrow. Right now I'm trying to screw Slay the Spire's RNG but it's screwing me.

Once you're done with the game, tell me how it ranks among the other Kirby end-/post-games. I've reached 100% completion and haven't died once. Would love to give harder Kirby games a try

As soon as I read the title I knew it would be to the tune of Aesop Rock's song "Kirby"

Not PS3 games.
-
It is. Have tried a few PS3 titles back when I had a trial run of PS Now and even with my below average internet speed the games were perfectly playable. That being said, I will always prefer downloading games instead of streaming them

Will do. Thanks for the info. I will stay clear of this thread from now on, though. Some things just keep creeping up and thanks to a certain forum feature I was unable to ignore it, yet again. That's why I'll also refrain from talking about my thoughts on this game once I've finished it.

Reached world 4 and it's starting to bore me a little. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid game but way too easy for my taste. Its charm's carrying it for now, but who knows if I'll see it through 'til the end.
-
This thread will be great next week. I just wanna know if the current offering will remain at its current price point @bob And whether tier 2 will be worth it (depending on what games it'll offer and how expensive it'll be).

Completely forgot about this. He actually cancelled his pre-order. I can't remember which wheel it was, but yeah...can't give you any impressions whatsoever, sorry

Have played this for a while and completed the first world. It's a Kirby game, alright. Piss easy but oozes with charm. I mean, look at these guys: They're just too cute Game's made me laugh out loud twice after Kirby "turned" into certain objects ("YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT" SPOILERS AHEAD): I'm gonna focus on Kirby and the Forgotten Lands for now, 'cause I borrowed my mate's Switch and he wants it back sometime next week, but I'll also keep playing Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Thank goodness for those two games. The cuteness, good vibes and charm both games throw at you are very welcome these days.

Good. First steps, but at least they are steps in the right direction. Criticism works. Now get rid of the always-online crap, please...

It wasn't too bad and didn't take a lot of attempts. Not having to fight against that dual-phase boss at the end makes this trophy much easier. Also got pretty good RNG with cards. Lots of strength = lots of damage = less turns. Thank goodness, this challenge is done The run only took 15 minutes... Now I can take my time again and work around some RNG shenanigans if the opportunity arises.

Probably Howl's Moving Castle.

Lol. I may have to take back that statement. There's a speedrun trophy: Win a run in 20 minutes or less. First of all: I hate speedrun achievements. I love watching speedruns, I hate doing them myself. Secondly: HOW? How would you do that? With a time constraint like that, everything that makes this game so great, i.e. thinking about every little decision, gets thrown out of the window. It turns into an RNG nightmare because you need cards/relics/events/enemies/bosses to show up that in combination reduce the time spent on the run. And after looking at some of the other trophies, there appears to be more RNG heavy stuff to achieve. Like winning a run with a 5 card deck (or smaller), or beating a boss in 1 turn, or beating the game without uncommon and rare cards. Now I know it's possible to do. I'd say I'm pretty good at the game and know quite a lot about it including combinations that help unlock (unlocking?) those trophies, but getting those is entirely out of my hand. Don't get me wrong: I will go for the Platinum. It's my favourite game of all time (sorry Elden Ring, after some consideration you're #2) and mechanically it's, in my opinion, perfect in every single way. But man, these trophies will be frustrating Then again, I will never judge a game's inherent quality by its achievements. I will, however, judge the people who decided on those.

I've just seen my first Studio Ghibli movie after having only gotten in contact with that studio via Ni No Kuni. So what's the movie I saw? Apparently the most popular one: Spirited Away. What a beautiful movie. It was fantastical but weirdly believable. There's just something there that resonated with me the entire time. I can't put my finger on it, but yeah...that's how I feel.

I'm hoping the same My sister's boyfriend recommended that I start on the highest possible difficulty. He said I'd like it. We'll see Anyways, Returnal's Ascension update is live. (coincidentally I've just won an Ascension 20 run in Slay the Spire ).
