  1. When - after 24 hours - a scene starts and you think: "Hm, alright...this is interesting"; and then the scene plays out and you think: "Oh, alright. WHAT THE HELL?"; and after all is said and done you tell yourself: "Man, I can't wait to play this game again so I can handle this differently."... ...then you know it's a great game. @Julius I hope you and your group are excited to finally start this. You won't be disappointed (aside from a few bugs here and there).
  2. I spent way too much time in Faerûn last night. Managed to finish off some major quests. Without spoiling too much: I took my usual approach to these kinds of quests and I think a got a pretty good outcome. I know what I will do in my next playthrough, though, which will most likely be quite evil given that I intend to make a character with the "Dark Urge" origin. Anyways, got a few loose ends that I want to tie up before moving on to my next goal: the Underdark. And my goodness...I went there before via an elevator and had a trademark Elden Ring moment. It's gorgeous. I did nope out pretty quickly because I came across a strong foe right at the start This time, though, I think I'm prepared. Two more ours of work and them I'm off until next Wednesday. I know how I'm gonna spend all that free time
  3. Finished it. Pretty but shallow. That's basically it. Started NG+ with a certain relic that makes the game more difficult, but you are so overpowered that it doesn't matter. Need to progress a few hours for the final trophy and hope that enemies scale fast enough for the battles to become more challenging. Not sure if I'll push through, though, as it's even more boring than the first playthrough. Hope the devs get back to their fast-paced 2D ways for their next game.
  4. To nobody's surprise: The 8h mark has been crossed. I'm now sitting at almost 11 hours I kinda wanted to do something similar to what @Julius regularly does with games: Updates about my experiences and screenshots/videos. But if I did that, I would have to write a 2000 words post with 400 screenshots every time There's also the issue of spoilers. It's impossible to share stuff without spoiling even the tiniest of interactions. Everyone should experience these things without any prior knowledge. BUT I WANNA TALK ABOUT EVERYTHING! Quite the dilemma
  5. Happy to hear that you're enjoying it @Julius Yeah, as long as you stay close to enemies they usually can't hit you with most of their attacks. Boss #3 and #5 are perfect examples of this. I've fought that noob many times, too. But for a different reason: Farming money Keep them videos coming. I enjoy watching you take out those mechs
  6. Almost reached the 8 hour mark (will definitely reach it later tonight ). This game is something very special. I'm already invested in every little thing that's happening. I loathe Asterion. He's been sent to the camp immediately and he won't get out anytime soon. The other three companions are fun, mystic, secretive, constantly angry, a little weird. There's something for everyone I've entered an encampment and have yet to talk to someone who seeks my help (and who might help me). I keep getting distracted, though... Gotta say: Tactician is quite difficult. Haven't had too many fights, but most of then I've won by the skin of my teeth. Luckily I was able to avoid many battles by talking and some successful skill checks (I assume failures would've gotten me in trouble).
  7. Well, after helping my mate move I was pretty exhausted, but I did get some gaming time in Meet Drahkon, the Wood-Elf Criminal Ranger: Anyways, 3 hours in and...what the hell is this game...it's unbelievable. I'm very early but I'm already impressed with every dialogue I've had so far. Facial animations and body language are incredibly well realized. Bethesda should take notes. Already met a few companions and they all have their quirks. Love it Not sure who I'll stick with for now. They are all awesome. I'm pretty overwhelmed with all the menus and mechanics. It's gonna take me quite a while to get to grips with everything. Already have a plan of what to do first tomorrow: choose my party composition read up on all party members' skills customize the radial menus for all characters And then it's right back to exploring. Need to find a shovel Can't wait to be done with work on Wednesday because then I'll have one week off. In my teen years I was into dragons, especially their aesthetics. I also loved the word "draconic" (both meanings, i.e. severe and resembling a dragon). Decided to make a name out of it and went with a weird spelling
  8. Oh no, gotta delay my start for a few hours 'cause a friend needs help moving. Well...gonna be an even longer night then
  9. I imagine your character just sitting far away from the action, singing songs, buffing your party members and then watching all the mayhem go down Interesting. You always come up with new names for different games/characters? I generally always go with Drahkon for my first character in a game. Then if I make a second it's usually Alcyon if it's a lady or Solus if it's a gentleman. Oh, that's awesome I'll let you know I wonder if I should go with Ranger first and then multiclass into Rogue later or vice-versa.
  10. YES Looking forward to reading your impressions. Hope you'll have a much better time than I did Same here. This will be my first experience with actual DnD rules (adapted in a video game, so probably slightly different to the real world counterpart). Can't wait to see how the story for my characters will go. But more importantly: How long will I spend with the character creator? I stopped going through the web versions 'cause they're more for planning your entire build. Gonna take my sweet time reading about all the races, classes, backgrounds, origins. Decision paralysis will set in very quickly I know what my starting class will be, though: Rogue. Played as one in D:OS2 and it was awesome. A sneaky pickpocket here, a little dagger dual-wielding backstabbing there. Love it Kinda wanna try a stealthy ranger in BG3 (if possible), though. OHHHHH, I want to play it now
  11. If you're not going to do a solo playthrough...why not play Armored Core VI inbetween your multiplayer sessions DO IT!
  12. Best thing to come out of this so far are the references to
  13. Good. Hope there will be even more. And more turn-based games just for @Kav
  14. I purposely left them out so you can do your job Saints Row seems to have had a rough start but is in a better state now. Worth checking out.
  15. Yikes. First Nintendo, then Microsoft, now Sony. Fuck off with that. Definitely not sticking with Premium. Might even ditch Extra
  16. Pre-load starts tomorrow, the game will be playable on Saturday at 6pm CEST. Already got my weekend planned out: Gonna make a nice and healthy stew on Friday which I just need to warm up. Not to worry, I will also buy some unhealthy snacks because for me, this is what a long gaming session needs. My cold-brew coffee devices are ready to go. They'll do their work during the night from Friday to Saturday and the delicious local coffee (from the oldest roasting house in Germany - highly recommended) will keep me energized/awake On Saturday I'll start watching 2. Bundesliga from 1pm and switch to 1. Bundesliga at 3.30pm. I'll move the SkyGo stream to my second monitor at 6pm and immediately dive into the world of Baldur's Gate 3. Hehehehe, I'm 33 years old and giddy with excitement like kid on Christmas Eve
  17. I'm surprised you're crying over it. There's way too much stuff still coming this year. If this collection comes out in the second half of 2024 I'd be happy, too
  18. @Julius 3 days and 6 hours...
  19. 7 hours in. No idea how I'm feeling about this.
  20. Played this for a while. It's bloody gorgeous and the music is amazing. Reminds a lot of The Messenger (obviously). Enjoying my time with it...even though they made grinding tedious
  21. We'll get a new Astro game. WOOOHOOO. It's PSVR2 exclusive.
  22. So, @Julius, have you already thought about what kind of character you're going to create? I'm using this character builder to try and see what could be possible. It's kind of the only thing I'm going to spoil for myself (except for the two trailers I've watched). No idea what I'm doing and whether it's any good but I might go with a High-Elf Rogue Druid hybrid.
  23. Compared to last year, 2023 has been a slow gaming year for me. I played/finished 61 games until the end of August in 2022. This year I'm only at 37. It started off great with 9 games in January but then the numbers dropped... But, August is a return to form. Currently at 8 (not sure if I'll be able to finish F.I.S.T. by the end of the month) which is more than May, June and July combined Fifa 23 (Pr Clubs only) Shatter Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition Sniper Elite 5 Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Aside from ACVI a pretty good month Got the Platinum for Shatter, which was a lot of fun. Do yourself a favor and get the remaster. It's worth it. I can see the number dropping again for September for a very obvious reason: Baldur's Gate 3, which will be a pretty big commitment. But I don't mind
  24. Looks like the event might be cancelled... Which means I might cancel my pre-order and go for the deluxe edition after all Understandable. My mate recently told me he's out for BG3 for now because he wants to focus on ACVI so it'll be just the solo campaign for me, too. At least until he's done with the mech game I will commit to this At least until the end of September. I'll most likely pre-order FIFA 24 EA FC24 because my gaming group reeeeaaally wants to play Pro Clubs. So do I It's been two years, as I skip every other installment. Anyways, I can't wait for BG3 to finally arrive on PS5. Haven't been this excited for a game in a long time.
