Alright. Sundered got its much needed PS4 patch some time ago so I decided to give it another go. Started a new file and just reached the point where I last left off. This time without dying since the patch fixed the stutter problem. Those frame rate drops could really throw you off during fights. Now the game runs smoothly It's a Metroidvania alright. Certain points of the map are set in stone and provide new skills, throw you into a boss fight or open up shortcuts. However, the connecting areas are procedurally generated with each new attempt. So far it seems to be a great blend between linearity and randomness. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Alright. So GB/GBC/GBA it is. I'll choose a system and three games for the first vote and post it tomorrow unless there are any objections, i.e. people need some more time to finish a game they're currently playing.

I'm also for adding GameBoy to the system list. Just GB/GBC or GBA, as well? How's the GBA VC situation?

True It's a shame because I tried to get out of my gaming lull with Chrono Trigger and Prey. Third time's a charm, eh? Now to decide what to play next...

Finished the story just now. Took me only 10 hours because I couldn't be arsed to do any side missions. The gameplay didn't suit the enemies. Controls were too clunky, fighting was too slow and enemies were too quick. Story didn't really get going. All in all, disappointing. I liked the atmosphere and the premise but it didn't really go anywhere. Maybe if I had gone for a better ending...but I just didn't want to. As it stands now I'm happy that I only paid 12 bucks for it. Doubt I'll put the disc in ever again.

Alright. The game lost me again. I just don't think it's very fun. The battles are way too easy, the characters aren't particularly interesting to me and the story doesn't really get going - to the point where I just can't be arsed to continue playing. I've taken some time to read a summary of the plot and to be honest it's nothing special except: So after about 7 hours of playtime it's finally time for me to mark Chrono Trigger as a game I will never complete and never play again. I guess if I had played it back in the day it would've blown me away and I appreciate what it did for its time, but these days it's simply "meh" to me.

Yeah. Every JRPG that has more characters than slots in your party should do this.

If there's anything I can be proud of it's that you are not miles ahead of me this time Going to watch football. Might play Chrono Trigger and just have the match running in the background. Depends on how interesting it'll be.

As Sheikah said, focus can switch any time. Maybe you fight Lavos, maybe you don't. That was my thought process but once I read your post I was spoiled.

What? The only "contact" I had with Lavos was that 'cutscene'. Now I know it's the final boss and that the entire story revolves around it. I actually thought that this could not be the case and there's something else going on.

Do we have confirmation that the games' downloads are initiated by the disc or are there download codes inside the box? If it's the latter I'd be majorly pissed. I could live with the first.

Haven't you played this before? Anyway, just went through the sewer part myself. Not much to do in the next area it seems. Reached Proto Dome and I'm calling it a night. Like it so far. Hopefully I can stick with it this time.

Have I just spent 80 minutes farming Gato to get enough money to buy the Lode Sword? Sure did until I took a break and explored the world only to find out that there is a Steel Sword for sale that only costs 800G and is only 5 points weaker than Lode Sword. Fuck you Lode Sword. Spent about 3000G just now on new equipment for Crono and Marle With this and the leveling up I've done I may be a little too strong for the early game?
