Same here. With the collections (SNES Mini and MegaDrive) the more popular older games are relatively easily available (SNES Mini to a lesser degree, admittedly). I think it's the best choice for now. It's worth a shot to see how it'll go with retro games. If it doesn't gain traction we can always change things up.

When should we start with the first poll? There's still the Chrono Trigger thread. Should we wait some more for people to finish the game there?

Good idea. Wii and games that exclusively use motion controls.

I'd say as a start we limit it to those two. If the idea catches on we can always expand the list later. But we should definitely stick to retro consoles.

Anyway, now that this is out of the way let me give a rundown of what this is about: every month (doesn't have to start at the 1st of each month; maybe every 4 weeks is better Edit: or less, depending on the game/pool of games) we take a vote to choose a game out of a set pool the game with the most vote will be played by anyone who's interested and discussed in a dedicated thread you can tell us about your journey, praise the game, criticize how bad it is, write a poem about your love of the game in question, record a video which depicts you stabbing the cartridge with a knife, tell others that their opinion SUCKS (this is the internet after all), etc Regarding the games pool: one participant selects 3 games one system (SNES, MegaDrive or GB/GBC/GBA for now) easily available games (i.e. no games that would cost a fortune to acquire) once the time to play is over this participant names one who will select the next 3 games out of this pool we each choose one game with the most votes will be the one we play @Happenstance, @S.C.G, @Hero-of-Time, @nekunando, @Sheikah, @Sméagol, @Glen-i, @Goafer, @Jonnas, @Mandalore, @Ike, @RedShell Feel free to tag others I didn't think of in your posts. Agree with all of that. Will keep that in mind. I didn't grow up with MegaDrive, though, so I actually have no idea regarding its games. I will need a little help with that.

I'm going to get a thread up and running as soon as I've had launch. This will probably be a thread to collect ideas on how to figure out which games to play and then how to proceed. I reckon once we've decided on a game it's best to create a thread for that and let the discussion commence.

Yeah, that will always be a problem with you. How about you start playing the game in question two days before the month is over. Then we'll all be finished at the same time.

Alright. Easy: What are, in your opinion, essential SNES games that everyone should play? Recommend me everything, even the obvious ones (e.g. Super Mario World), but most importantly some obscure and hidden gems. I will have some more free time soon and would love to revisit my gaming history and add a little more knowledge about other SNES games.
