41 hours played, 4 orbs collected. The last two bosses weren't particularly difficult. I didn't even have to grind more exp Being overlevelled meant that I pretty much rushed through certain areas without exploring and fighting too too much. Will probably have to do that anyway when going for the Platinum. My Hero is still rocking the greatsword I got in the casino But I just found a book teaching me the recipe for it. Looks like I might find stronger equipment soon. Arrived at an area which has another orb for me in store. Will tackle it tomorrow

Well, well, well...looks like I grinded a little too much Managed to beat the next boss quite easily and thanks to the Draconian Quest modifier I got no exp for the victory

I grinded exp until 3am last night. Not sure if it's needed but I know there's a boss coming up and maybe it's nice to level up a bit. Grinding is quite slow now, though. There's only one monster that still gives me exp and there are only two of it in one particular area. Metal Slimes don't appear regularly enough to warrant going after them. My aim is to get my party to level 30. Gonna me take quite some time

How cool was Vince's little story. Very enjoyable and heartwarming. I said it once, I'll say it again: I love the two Draconian Quest modifiers I enabled. Makes for quite the challenging game. Even fights against normal enemies can be tough and require some thinking. Edit: Edit #2: And the ritual Please stop now...I'm getting teary-eyed.

Found another offer for 25.50€. It usually still costs somewhere between 35 and 40€ around here. The German version is hard to find. With shipping, importing it from the UK would still cost me between 22-25€.

It's currently 27,50€ on eBay for the UK version. I'm soooo tempted, even though I'm completely absorbed by Dragon Quest XI. Has anybody played the DLC, yet? Would you say it's worth waiting for the Yorha Edition (will be 40€ and comes out in Febuary) or is the game pretty much a complete experience on its own?

23 hours in. Back to 60k tokens. I think I spent 5 hours in the casino... Anyway, completed a couple of side quests, shot down 5 targets with the crossbow in some areas and explored new lands. I've neglected battles, though. I'll definitely have to beat the crap out of some monsters. This game, man...so far it's the perfect JRPG.

I need help. 113k tokens are mine. Acquired the Platinum Powersword for the Hero. 172 Attack. Nice Anyway...I need a lot more tokens for the other equipment I want, but I'm a little burnt out Think I'll take up exploration again for a while.

Well...I spent more time in the casino last night than I want to admit I'm now at 25k Tokens. I want that Platinum Greatsword for 100k, though. And more equipment. If I got all I would need 225k tokens (I think). Even though I know that at one point in the game (which is probably not too too far away) I will easily acquire better gear, I want the casino prizes now. NOW I SAY! Anyway, off to work and then on a train ride to my mom's place. I'll probably greet her with "Hi, bye. I have to gamble"

Quick update. Found a casino. And now the decent into my deep, dark JRPG gambling addiction begins.

Agree. I used buffs and debuffs in the next two boss fights making them much more doable. Sadly my main character died just before killing one of the bosses meaning he missed out on a good chunk of exp. But with the inevitable Metal Slime farming this is not too much of a problem Made some progress and unlocked:

Mymy, The Slayer of the Sands sure gave me a lot of trouble. I farmed 'til I was level 17 and brute-forcing my way through the fight was not possible. Serena did her best to heal but the boss' attacks were devastating. Eventually I decided to give status effects a go and lo and behold...it worked. Dazzle and Snooze are clutch spells. I guess the Super Strong Enemies Draconian Quest modifier encourages a much more tactical approach than what is usual in Dragon Quest games (as far as I can remember from DQ VIII, anyway).

She sure is "Veronica wins again!" Just encountered my first batch of Metal Slimes. I do not have the ability to damage them, yet...but Serena was the hero of the fight. One Metal Slime fled but her attack on the remaining foe was a critical hit and with 38 damage sent it to heaven (or hell). About 2000 exp for everyone Reached the next town but before I'll progress the story I'll farm a little.

I'll keep that in mind. 9 hours in two more party members I thought fights would be a little easier but fuck no - the first fight in the next area wrecked my balls granted, I had to fight against 5 monsters... decided to respec three of my characters: main character now wields Greatswords Erik will become a master of Swords Veronica will be a whip-slashing sorceress crafted a nice Greatsword for the Luminary; deals a decent amount of damage Anyway...I'm off to play football now. Might pull an all nighter when I'm back because I have nothing to do tomorrow. And Wednesday will be my last day of work this year. I'll visit my Mom for the next two weeks. Unlucky for her that I will have Dragon Quest XI, Doom and (once I'm done with DQ XI) Final Fantasy Type-0 to play

Spend a little more time with Dragon Quest XI there's a forge - I'm the happiest man alive the first real boss almost wiped me out...Draconian Quest modifiers are no joke - still love it explored a town where almost everyone spoke only in Haiku now I'm grinding some levels (until I don't get any experience) and money Yes, I like this game.

Eric is so cool. He joined my journey and I'm off to explore some more. Battles are quite tough with the Draconian Quest modifier. I love it. I might come into this thread to gush many times

The PDC World Darts Championship is on free TV. The other big tournaments are broadcast on paid for sports channels. I have to say I'm not too happy with the audience this year. They have been quite disrespectful more than once now...it's a shame.

Oh man, this game - or rather the timing of me playing this - made me tear up a little. I remember getting Dragon Quest VIII for Christmas 12 years ago and it became one of my absolute favourite games. It shares its top spot for my favourite JRPG with Final Fantasy X. Dragon Quest XI kinda takes me back. No idea why I was getting a bit teary-eyed Maybe it's the character design, the iconic sounds, that Dragon Quest feeling, the nostalgia or all of the above. Takes me back to simpler times. Haven't experienced this with a new game in a long time now and it's great to be reminded of how much I love my biggest hobby. Video games are a big part of why I am the person I am today. Oh boy, I am going to savor this game. I should also play the other installments of the series...I have only played VIII and Dragon Warrior Monsters

IIRC Germany had the largest viewership last year in this tournament. (maybe it was only for the final, no idea). Hopp is still young (heck, he's 22...7 years younger than me ). I think with enough time, practice and experience he could rise up to be a top competitor. Agree. I actually liked how Dekker psyched himself up during the match. It was pretty much a big "fuck you" to the audience

I was very annoyed with the crowd during Dekker's and Ashton's match. Yes, you can cheer as loud as you want for one player, but booing when it's the other one's turn and cheering when he misses his darts...no class. It was a great match, though. Ashton started incredibly well but Dekker came back just as impressive. Shame that Martin Schindler lost but he said his nerves got the better of him. He had his chances but was too nervous. Can't blame him, though. It was his first match in Ally Pally...of course you're nervous
