  1. Think that about war if you want. But at the end of the day the law is on the side of the men in uniform because they send them there. not only that they pay me a tidy sum to go there and possibly kill someone..

I bet that gives you some right mental wank material.

  3. Is it just me or are the BNP reasonable??
    No

Granted i'm basing this on limited knowledge about them
...this is exactly what the want.,

saw a clip on the news the other day where the leader was in the streets campaigning and a muslim guy came up to him and called them racist, they leader said "no of course we're not racist.
Lies. I can link you a whole manner of videos demonstrating their actual, racist views, why would they ever openly admit they were racist?

it's just that the country is full that's all" and put his hand out to shake the guy's hand.
The country is not 'full' - there are simply not currently enough jobs to support the population of the country and the housing situation is in a mess. With private rent prices being far too expensive for a lot of low earners and a poorly managed LHA system which has been distorted and systematically destroyed since the Thatcher days, with little attempt by the Labour party to address the issues created during this time which led to the sever lack of available housing.

Then they were talking about lack of housing and how immigrants were getting council houses.
Not true, local authorities legally cannot make judgements based on skin colour or race, all LHA's are struggling to cope with demand and have done since the system was dismantled in the Eighties. Anyone who say's 'immigrants are getting all the houses' is simply mis-informed. I have about to go on the waiting list as I can't afford to privately rent and the system is favoured towards people (either couples or singles) with children.

when local people who'd lived there for years were being refused.
It is a system which supports need, not where you live

Well i happen to agree. If you can't even meet the most basic needs (and how much more basic can you get than housing) of the people already in the country.
does that include people who are already here, pay taxes but happen to have different coloured skin?,

it's completely insane to have more people come in.
Britian has some of the strictist immigration laws in the world, but due to lies in the media we all believe it's a walk in the park to get in here, and it simply isn't..

How the feck does that make someone a racist?
because judging people on the basis of the colour of their skin is racism

Race isn't the issue surely. There are people in my area who have been on the emergency homeless housing register for over a year and still can't get a council house.
of course there are many people in this situation, of all colours.

Mop up the puddle before you start on the sea and all that... (ok so i made that saying up).
What about people who are running from wars or problems in countries directly caused by us either now or during the colonial period - there's another saying called "what goes around, comes around" and the fact that Britain made much of it's wealth from exploiting the Caribbean, the West Indies and Africa, I think it's fair enough that many people would want to come to the country that destroyed their livelihood in order to try and re-build it.

Because they have right wing ideas an thus must be racist and facist!!

Actually most of the BNP's policies are very left wing / socialist. They are almost and exact modern-day replica of the NSDP (Hitler's political party in 1939)

  4. This programme makes me want to engage in a five knuckle shuffle. right there. right then. even when I watch with my mum. mind blowing.

Does anyone else think she's bluffing to weed out Merry from LotR as a bad guy or is she ACTUALLY a bad guy? Can't wait to see how they play it all out.

  5. The fact that the bill is being put through is the issue I have. The concept of censorship: we have a choice to break the law, knowing the consequences of what we choose to do. Removing this choice directly affects and removes our freedom. It also, crucially, sets a precedent. Now I'm not condoning anything illegal here, but if someone downloads child porn, that is their choice - as wrong as it is, and of course they should be punished to the full extent of the law.

However once you determine illegal downloads, child porn, bestiality and murder videos as "banned" from the internet, where does it stop? Who decides what is allowed and what isn't? Where do the people decide what they can and can't view/download or is it up to the government and the companies to 'regulate' something that doesn't belong to any of them, or anyone for that matter.

I take the view that the Internet is one of the greatest inventions mankind has ever achieved, it has completely conquered time and space at an global and individual level. I love the fact that I can look around my uncles house in Australia, import games from Hong Kong, look around hotels and plan a detailed trip to South Korea, even download new music (I won't go into detail, but there are massive benefits to downloading music and we have discussed it to death). Now, someone who has no real right, decides I can't do some of those things any more, or I have to do it in a different way or through a certain institution. Regulation of the internet will end in disaster. Things like censorship, net neutrality and all that bollocks simply have no place in something that no nation state or corporation owns.

If I choose to break the law, I must be willing to stand in front of a judge and jury, as I have every right too and defend myself in a fair trial. I will probably lose, but I as a free citizen understand those rights and removing them completely undermines my freedom as a human being, makes a mockery of democracy and simply installs the corporations as our real leaders. Now, I can completely understand people accepting this - sure, if you are a law abiding citizen why would you need to worry? The reality is, it's a very worrying prospect as to what it symbolises and while it may be good to crack down on illegal downloaders, at the end of the day it won't crack down on anything but our basic human rights and our freedom and set a very dangerous precedent which would be impossible to reverse.

That really does cover quite a lot of people who currently pirate. People in this country who currently pirate do so because they can acquire vast amounts of games/music/video that they could not normally purchase all of. And, because they can save money or spend their money on other things that they cannot illegally acquire. That said, if these people were scaremongered into ceasing the acquirement of copyright material they would most probably still want to have their own music, watch films and play games. Thus, it's certainly likely that it would lead to an overall increase in the legal purchase of media and thereby paying the people involved in their manufacture.

I disagree, it would probably just vastly increase the demand for the second hand market. There is a reason why CeX is completely booming at the moment and that is because people are coming round to the fact that it's better/cheaper/easier to just wait and pick something up second hand. Banning illegal downloads would increase the demand for second hand good ten-fold. I have almost never bought anything new because I simply can't afford it.

My entire DVD collection (300+), Music collection (500+) and Game collection (100+) is almost all second hand, with the realistic exception of about 5% new. Almost all my DVD's are from CeX, purchased for as little as £1-3 a time, there's just no way I'd spend over a tenner on a film or DVD when I know it will be way cheaper in a few months. Same goes for my cd's - all from Amazon Marketplace, it just seems stupid not too because it's so much cheaper. People who download will never pay full price for consumables and will only increase the second hand market.

  6. Okay, I've had a considerable bash at my new games...

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is immense. I'm having a blast with it. I'm at about rank 5/6 at the minute and sunk a good few hours into it. I love the variation in both the vehicles and the tracks. The physics and handling is incredible and the sense of speed is very good. My only complaint is that it's a tad on the easy side (so far at least) and my first impressions we're wrong, it's almost incomparable to excitetruck/bots after a lengthy play. They are completely different games and share very little apart from the fact they are both off-road racers. I am yet to experience online because I've been too busy with single player but I've thoroughly enjoyed what I've seen so far. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something akin to the dirt series with less emphasis on simulation and more on outright excitement. Some of the heavy vehicles are a chore to use, but most of the time you can choose something else, the bikes are awesome! I'd give it a strong 8/10

Prince of Perisa. Jesus, what happened?!!! Sands of time was amazing and this has been so incredibly average thus far. Unfortunately SoT was my only PoP experience to date, I never played any others but I think the emphasis has shifted too far away from what made the series great. Don't get me wrong please, it's a decent game, it just feels like a step backwards. Yes, the graphics and locales are stunning, the combat (though rare) is fun and the platforming (if a little clunky and bit too easy) is still better than a lot of other titles but it seems like the game has really lost what made it so great. The voice acting doesn't help, it's fucking horrible. I'm about 1/4 of the way through and I still have the desire to see the end which I suppose is a positive thing, though if it becomes a chore to play I will give up! It could go either way though, on the other hand it could pick up and get better as the fundamental level design and bosses are fun, but the the mechanics, don't quite make it feel like YOU are the one in control (especially the fact you can't die). I will post again once I'm closer to the end, I am hopeful though. SO far I'd rate it at about a 6/10

  7. I agree, the constant Schumacher bashing is getting annoying. There will be 2 or 3 races this season where he blows everyone else away, he just needs to re-adjust - He's 41 and has been out for 3 years. I'm sure he will get back in the rhythm again very soon...

Tomorrow's race will be great! I don't want a Red Bull win, Webber and Vettel have both irritated me recently. I was so annoyed with how Webber handled himself on track last week and it really made me question his ability, it was exciting to watch but he is very dangerous, Lewis demonstrated effectively how to do everything Webber was trying to do, before taking him out. I would love to see Sutil or Hulkenburg achieve a podium, I think it will carry forward the positive momentum from Australia and obviously watching the Maccas and the Ferraris running through the field will make for compelling viewing.

I really hope there are lots of incidents and Kovalinen scrapes through to earn some points! Would be amazing. :D

  8. Wow, great prices for those games. Im thinking about getting MS: PR for online play. Have you tried it yet? Is it any good?

Only had a quick bash on it. First impressions are, it's pretty good. It looks like it has a lot of depth, lots of competitions and vehicles. The physics and handling are good. So is the framerate, but it lacks the excitement and energy of Excitetruck/bots on Wii. I haven't played online yet but I'll let you know if it's any good.

  9. I agree it did seem to affect him in qualifying but come race day Hamilton was most certainly driving at his best' date=' were it not for the team letting him down as gaggle said they were on for a 1-2 and based on how Hamilton was going at that point he most certainly could have won it.[/quote']

I disagree here and with Lewis. I reckon he would have severely wrecked his tyres by the end due to his aggressive driving style, I think the team was right to pit him, he was just very, very unlucky that the Ferrari's and Kubica gambled on staying out. He probably could have achieved second but I doubt he would have been able to follow Button, pass him and still have decent tyres on which to finish the race. His attitude after the race was not brilliant, but at least he is passionate about winning and is by far the most exciting driver on the grid. Any more drives like that and the season is sure to be incredible.
