No, I don't have anything that adds to either of their cases. Although I am interested in why @Jonnas claims to be untargetable yet then says he was redirected. I don't really believe him if I'm being honest, it seems fairly common for people who lie to claim that 'something odd must have happened' with regards to contradicting information. Peeps also claims he roleblocked Jonnas and reported that this went down successfully, and seems more forthcoming with his information. There's more on @Jonnas if I'm being honest, but if he turned out to be town I'll be looking to Peeps. Vote: Jonnas.

That's pretty cool.

Yeah, they streamlined a lot of stuff snow so some common events like treasure chests can be automatically inserted as a common event.

Ah, I had an issue where I had to completely uninstall Virtu MVP (that function of AMD cards whereby it uses the default onboard graphics alongside your graphics card to boost graphics performance) when trying to play The Witcher 2. I couldn't fully disable it and had to completely uninstall it. It could be that not having the Frozr III edition of the 7850 card (stays cooler) means you can't clock it to max... a way to test this is to incrementally increase your clock rate then run a 10 minute stress test using Prime95 to see whether your system can handle it (try not to gauge 78 degrees).

NB the resolution aspect ratio has to match the ratio of your monitor (although I'm sure you know this). e.g. 800 x 600 pixels or 1024 x 768 matches the old school 4:3 (TV screen shape) ratio. So if you're using a resolution that's not matching your screen it'll look weird.

Just thinking, logically, disguising as someone shouldn't necessarily mean you'd take all hits meant for the person they're disguising as (or take their redirects/roleblocks). It's possible to conclude that someone disguising would have a 50/50 chance of being on the receiving end of an ability/attack.

I toyed with the idea of making it a game but it was too complicated. Since everyone is a different character there would have to be 10+ instances of separate games sent out each day/night and then I would have had no way to witness what people did in it unless they told me, which kinda defeats the point of the game.

Yup, that's the brilliant part. A lot are morally grey. I made it using RPG Maker XV Ace, it's a really versatile program and is great once you get to grips with it.

No Way! You don't need to have read/watched it to play this. But if you have no intention of reading/watching the series you could always get a feel for some of the main characters here (warning - spoilers). Game of Thrones has a huge list of awesome characters, so there's a big pool to choose from.

HDMI is a digital cable so usually you can't have a good quality to it (either you get a signal or you don't). Your Xbox 360 might have come with one (my elite did) so try that instead. If HDMI stops your PC switching off you can at least use that to update the BIOS and drivers that I listed in my last post. Try using the HDMI and instead of using the catalyst program, right click on the background and try clicking change resolution. Maybe if you adjust it there it'll work?

My apologies :p I could have made the list gone on forever, I took a chunk of the people from the most recent posters in one of the Mafia threads (I think you'd been killed right at the beginning XD)

My game is a bastardised mishmash of events of the first season with a lot of madeup-ery so you can go into watching it with an open mind. Essentially a lot of it won't spoil the series, and unless you look it up you'll never know what does!

Hey all. I've decided to have a crack at hosting a Mafia based on one of the coolest book and TV series ever: Game of Thrones (aka Song of Ice and Fire series). For those who haven't experienced it, it's a tale of power, betrayal and witty humour. Anyone can get into it. This game is going to be reported a little different. All writeups, and the prologue (below) are going to be made as a game and recorded as a video. I thought this might be pretty cool to put you guys into a game and show the epic shenanigans RPG style. Without further ado, roll the opening: I'd like to get a fair few playing (ideally over 12-13) so I'll mention a fair few, including N-Europe Game of Thrones lovers who might not venture into this part of the forums much and might want to take this chance to dip their toes into Mafia. Due to the need to know the number of characters before processing things this game won't be starting for some weeks, likely not until after Jimbob's Mafia at least. NB - if you signup to play, please vouch to be active (take part each night/day). If you have an urgent reason to stop playing please inform me so I can try find a replacement. Everyone, I'd love to have you play in my first hosted Mafia. Cheers. @mr\-paul @Dannyboy\-the\-Dane @Dan Dare @Mokong X\-C @bryanee @Murr @Zell

I would love if some guy called No Lynch signed up to the forums. Shit would go down. Vote: No Lynch

The adaptor is probably a VGA to DVI (the DVI cable end is wider). You can get DVI to HDMI (won't carry over sound though unlike pure HDMI) but if you have a HDTV then all you need is a HDMI-HDMI anyway. By the way, if you manage to go into the boot menu / options it shouldn't even be factoring in your graphics card drivers in any way and the fact a signal appeared on your screen to begin with is odd. Best bet for now is to try another display to connect to I think, ideally with pure HDMI.
-
Ok I'm a bit confused, you're not using a straight HDMI to HDMI right? Maybe try a HDMI to HDMI if you can. I think the blue one is a VGA cable (white tends to be DVI). Does your PC stay on when the screen goes or does it shut down?

Again it's @Jonnas, Jimbob :p Although Joannas is more than welcome to play if she wants.

I travel in London every day and for 1 month travel will be hell. Screw the Olympics!

Hey guys would one of you be kind enough to PM me a spreadsheet used by the mod organising a Mafia game? Cheers.

If you can update the BIOS for your mobo somehow (perhaps in safe mode/without your graphics card in) then that can often solve weird issues. Here's the link for you: BIOS update. The reformat thing might get rid of whatever drivers for your graphics card are installed. Then you could go to the driver website and get the latest version here: link. NB that's for 64-bit Win7 which you should have (since you have lots of RAM). Also I just thought, perhaps you could take photos of the inside of your case and @Cube could confirm whether anything is differently placed to his stuff. Maybe you have some component slotted either in the wrong place or not slotted in as well as in Cube's PC. Also Cube, not sure if you've done it yet but I recommend opening the AMD catalyst control panel and cranking your clock rate of your card up to max (something like 1200 - 1250 MHz). Instant performance boost and the card can easily handle it.

The Ukash Virus - Europol & Spanish Police Arrest Gang behind virus

lol, I'm amazed that some people do fall for such scams. Yeah your computer has been caught doing things illegal - pay us cash and it'll all go away! -
Well, I'm just trying to weigh up what the problem could be as Cube's PC seems to be working and as I recall he connects via HDMI (as do I). Connecting using a different method could have some weird glitch to do with your monitor, no idea why though. What I would suggest for now is remove your HDD (not SSD), and format your SSD by whatever means (hook up to another computer to do this if need be but you might be able to do this on the boot screen). Put only the SSD in your computer and do a fresh install. Consider a different 'copy' of Windows since you said yours wasn't exactly legit. Doing a fresh install might mean that whatever weird setup you had could be gone (you said there was some HDD and SDD issue, most likely caused by Win 7 being on your HDD for some reason). Only plug the HDD in after several days of all being well.
-
Do you have a HDTV or something that you can hook up to as a monitor? You could also try boot in safe mode and have a disk with drivers/latest catalyst/BIOS update (lastest version) for your motherboard and try install them.
-
It's quite unlikely, what wattage is your power supply? It could be a faulty component mind. I would recommend you remove your graphics card and use your onboard graphics for the next couple of days. If you have no problems, there is your culprit. Could be loose seating or you could send it back to the manufacturer for a replacement.
