I'm not a politician Tales so I can't be elected. Thanks for the vote of confidence though. :p -

Nope, I didn't target DuD. Won't say who just yet. -

So DuD was protected by the MP Andrew Lansley... @Cube and @Tales what happened to you guys last night? Nobody did anything to me last night. @Tales I am guessing that you are the media mogul (Rupert Murdoch). I am not going to associate this evil by the way and neither should anyone else here (MPs are all so morally grey anyway). Just interested in knowing what the affiliation with the treasury comment might be alluding to. -
Oh Persona 3 Portable has gone down to £14. I will probably buy it, I know it's good.

Well inFamous 2 must be worth around half of the £40 yearly cost so there's clearly pretty big savings to be made. I'd say there's probably been at least £100 worth of stuff I'd have actually bought anyway that I got for that £30~ or so (signed up when it was on offer and when ShopTo were selling PSN cards for a couple of pounds cheaper than their value). In fact that's probably a really conservative estimate.

PS Plus is incredibly worth it. I'm half tempted to type a list of stuff that I've really enjoyed and got for free or for less money but that would take me ages.

Strongly considering a PC upgrade. Is this spec ok?
Sheikah replied to CoolFunkMan's topic in General Chit Chat
Yup, the back ports are dependent on your mobo. I side note is any USB device can use any port, but for the best speed both device and port must be USB 3.0 (they're usually labelled with blue). -
Deus Ex is amazing, it's a beast. Enjoy it. Also I would say you have a greater feeling of control over Ezio than Cole and I think this is in part because Cole moves a lot faster trough his environment (running and climbing). You feel more free as Cole though, being able to fall without consequence and glide everywhere. Both have their pros.

Shit, I remember you saying you were suspecting she was cheating on you a while back. Hope you're holding up and really sorry if your suspicions were true.

In that case I recommend using the program UltraMon to do the same thing. As with the nVidia control panel I recommend you restarting and having both monitors plugged into your PC before Windows boots, then run the program. I used this in the past when I was having issues with the nVidia control panel. -
Yes you are. If you are indeed the serial killer, what would you do in this situation having been exposed? Probably exactly what you are doing now. Yes, now you would. Which is why I think your role is now effectively nerfed. By all means, prove me wrong tonight. Actually there is a very good reason and you know it. If you are a serial killer, you alone carry a night kill which can be extinguished in just one lynch. Several lynches are required to terminate the Mafia and therefore their night kill. See, the difference is I'm not lying my arse off 'hinting' at information here and there. If you went back through the topic, you would find I have revealed my D1 target enough times (Rummy). On D2 I roleblocked Tales. Ask either, I'm sure they'll confirm. My character is not evil. I am town. I don't see what else I need to reveal. Plus you refuse to reveal your role, which is far more suspicious than me not revealing a name. I have revealed my role and targets and the fact that nothing so far has happened to me. The only thing I will not reveal is my name, because even IF you were town the fact that you suspect me means that you may be willing to screw with me, using an ability I believe is strongly linked to you requiring my name. You found out Diageo was Darth Vader but you were convinced he was good, in doing so validating 'evil' characters as being potentially good, so I don't see it being an issue even if my character was evil (which they aren't). I will keep to the way that I find is most coherent and requires no skimming back to the original quoted segment in question.
-
I don't see any confusion here other than what you're creating. I think you are are a serial killer ie. anti town and therefore someone who needs to be lynched. But in order to not be lynched by town you are trying to blend in as town. Oh yes, because everyone would know you had the powers of Light as a possibility before I picked up on it. Fact is, if I hadn't mentioned the possibilty people probably wouldn't have registered it. Everyone is asking questions about everyone else so I don't see a reason why you would have been picked up on. Light gets to describe how people are killed so there's also the possibility you could have made it the kill less obviously you somehow.
-
Christ fine. No one else has joined me on lynching Dohnut yet even though he is lying through his back teeth. Then again half of the people in this topic seem non-existent. Just remember Dohnut's actions and lies come tomorrow. Change Vote: Diageo Far too much evidence and too many 'coincidences' working against you. Either the Mafia got lucky setting you up in an almost perfect way or more likely you are scum.
-
If we're both being honest, neither of us expected you to admit to it. :p Not at all. My second sentence explicitly states it is a theory so the rest from there should be read as a speculative post which I have a lot of confidence in. Probably because you would rather appear town for longer and want to gain trust by first eliminating who you believe to be Mafia. Yup. But from what I can tell, as soon as you start either lying or misleading people you need to go out and buy a coffin. To the town lie detector, FYI he's been trying to deceive you. Actually you said your character had been mentioned back in the topic. Which it hadn't. But then you were being shifty by putting 'character' in inverted commas. A confession that you try to deceive people. You wonder why I don't trust you? Moreover, why would I give you my name when you have confessed to lying to me? Well looks like you got short changed this time then, because I've got you to reveal a name while not doing so myself. I am saying that a Yagami Light-esque ability set has been transposed onto your lego character. Six times you asked for mine and used play-it-down and persuasion methods to try get it. I will obviously not give you my name for the reasons I have given above. You have an ability that probably requires a name, hence you are so eager and belligerent trying to get hold of it. Considering you have only just given a name yourself you had no right demanding a name from me. Bullshit. Diageo is Darth Vader for Christ's sake, and you were 5 minutes ago claiming you are almost sure he is town. So being a shady character doesn't affect your judgement on ultimately whether you think they're mafia or not. Anti-town is not wrong. I think you are both anti-town, but you are also anti-mafia. Anti-town and neutral are not mutually exclusive terms. It just makes more sense for you to portray as town for now since you'll otherwise by lynched. If you're saying that I'm in the mafia with Diageo, why didn't I kill with this made up power that you think I have last night? Or are you still saying that I was role blocked by Diageo - my team mate in this situation? I'd be happy to see that come to fruition also. Again, desperation for a name. So very suspicious. I have revealed a role and you have not. I am more open than you and I clearly have a good reason for not wanting to give you my name. OH! One final, pretty important point: With the Death Note you get to state the cause of death so the circumstances are up to you. And unless other people had pieced together you requesting names with a potential Death Note, I doubt anyone would have batted an eyelid. Loads of people are asking for stuff from people, so you asking for a name here and there is hardly going to arouse suspicion. What do you call a double U turn? Obviously, a W turn. You stated you were almost certain I was Mafia and that Diageo was innocent. So now you're speed lynching too it seems. Either way, your days are numbered.
-
It's not totally wrong at all. And it doesn't surprise me that you said you stopped reading half way through (no way in hell you did) as it allows you to avoid some very difficult questions. The only thing that may well be wrong is that you are a character called Yagami Light, for the sake of the Lego universe. In all other respects, I am certain you have a power that renders you a Lego Yagami Light. Also note that Cube has no reason to include only officially licensed Lego characters and at no point did he state that every piece would be actually from the Lego universe. Regardless of the Light theory, you have two questions to answer. 1. Why have you, countless times, gone along with DuD's suggested post that you are the Tipper Truck? You have openly admitted to deceiving everyone by constantly suggesting you are this character. Even stranger is that DuD has been as cryptic as you by posting the Tipper Truck info and neither confirming nor denying it was you. Also, why has Dannyboy not contested your point about being the tipper truck already? And here's something to think about - you've been lying about your name but now we apparently have your name it seems to make no difference as I don't know what you do really. So why bother lying? Second, why are you so desperate to obtain names? You've done it so many times that it cannot be curiosity. It is linked to your power. Having to obtain information to make use of your power unlike other powers that can probably be used outright suggests to me that you have a powerful power. And there is no U turn here. I have at no point said Diageo is now probably a good guy and you're the bad guy. You're both anti-town, just that your name collecting agenda to me suggests you are a serial killer, so removal of you from the game could mean one less town kill per night.
-
Yes but I covere that point and gave my reasons for why I still think that's his power more or less.
-
I think I may well have you Dohnut. This is a theory, but one that I firmly believe in and fits the writing on the wall very well. It would explain your name, your power, and very possibly your alignment (based on the character I think you may be). Everyone, I implore you to read on. If you're not convinced that he is who I think he is (based on the fact that while fan lego of the character I believe he is has been made but I can't find an 'officially' licensed figurine - not that it was ever stated that all lego characters would be official) then I hope this will at least convince you that he is most likely a killer of some sort who has been deceiving us. Something incredibly underhand is going on here. Dohnut, not once so far have you said you are the Tipper Truck. DuD was the first to originally post something cryptic about you potentially being the Tipper Truck: ^ While DuD hints that you are the Tipper Truck he clearly avoids categorically stating that you are or aren't that character. It's never you who hints at your own name and you certainly never confirmed it afterwards. Odd much? Then: ^ I ask you to restate your character name (first time). You spend a whole paragraph telling me to go and look for it instead of typing two words - 'tipper truck'. Very oddly, you refer to your character in inverted commas - your 'character'. It's as if you are sending out a message that you're clearly not referring to your 'name'. We'll come back to that. It's unusual that you go to such lengths to avoid referring to your name (the reasons I believe for this I will go into further down). ^ Again, most recently, you even offer to point me in the direction of the post itself! How generous of you! Except, this makes no sense. Why go to the length of finding the post yourself and directing me there rather than revealing your name? Then it hits, and you realise it makes perfect sense. You most likely are Yagami Light from Death Note. I'm very confident about saying this. Here is why: You have not once announced your name and deflected every opportunity where announcing your name would have been much easier than the alternative. If someone were to learn your name, your power would most likely be useless just as it is for Light in the show. In fact, you practically confirmed it: And: I'm sure many know but Yagami Light has a supernatural notebook called the 'Death Note'. In it he can write people's names and they will die by whatever means he states, unless he refuses to state a cause of death in which case they die by heart attack. Throughout the anime series Light remains under a constant threat from police investigators who wish to find out who he is to put him behind bars. Anonymity is key for Yagami Light. To make things clear, in revealing his role OR name it would be obvious that he requires names to kill. Thus, no one would tell him their names, and his role becomes useless. To reiterate - Yagami Light's murder weapon? Names. He can kill people if he knows their name. Now you may consider my theory so far to be hunch, but what follows are Dohnut's multiple attempts to A) obtain my name, and B) play down the importance of knowing a name in order to have me reveal my name. Attempting to learn my name and/or play down the consequences of dishing out my name (or coerce me into giving it through finger pointing): 1st instance: ^ Starts off gently. Not really suspicious. 2nd instance: ^ What harm indeed. Note the attempts to convince me to turn over my name. 3rd instance (from same post as above): ^ Tired of playing down the consequences, he's now moved on to good old-fashioned finger pointing. 4th instance: ^ Again playing down the consequences of giving out my name. Harmless, right? Of course nothing will happen to me if I give out my name, that must be why you're so desperate to obtain it! 5th instance: And finally, in the same post as the 5th instance, one last attempt to get me to hand over my name: ^ Now note how he types 'character' in inverted commas. It's almost as if he is signalling that he has not specifically said 'character name', or 'name' as to not break his rule. Why on Earth would you say oh yes my 'character' is XYZ unless it was part of some ploy? That's 6 times since he first started at me. He is very, very clearly after my name and has tried all manner of approaches to obtain it. Needless to say, Light was effectively a psychopath. I wouldn't for one second think this guy is Town. Sure, he starts out killing 'criminals', but he quickly turns to murdering the police, investigators, and anyone in his way. I believe he's most likely a serial killer rather than Mafia just as Light is in the series. Now, it's possible that Yagami's Light's abilities have been transposed onto another lego-like character (possibly a villain or butcher type character) in order to maintain the fact he is a valid lego piece. But the almost certain facts remain that A) He has the potential to do something rather nasty to people when finding out their names, such to the extent that he will launch a tireless crusade to obtain said name and B) He has lied / mislead the rest of the people in the game as to who he is by neither confirming nor denying DuD's hint towards him being the Tipper Truck. DuD's initial post alluding to Dohnut's character is interesting, almost suggesting an alliance (else how would he know not to specifically name Dohnut?), although this part of my theory is less certain. Especially since DuD has not been on the rampage for names. To back this possibility up though, in the anime series Light had an accomplice who also had a Death Note - called Misa Amane (in that respect their characters could be reversed). However, that is just one possibility to consider. All in all, I wouldn't believe him now if he came out and said his name was 'character X', as it's entirely possible he is trying to avoid lie detection if he gave a false name and that he'd take a punt at lying about his name if it meant people didn't think he had a chance of killing people by getting their names. Although I consider it more likely he will not reveal his name. Congratulations for reading this lengthy post so far. Since you got this far, you'll know why I'm going to be saying this - he is undoubtedly the most suspicious person here now, although I am not suggesting Diageo is not suspicious for one minute. This undoubtedly needs to be done guys: Change vote: Nintendohnut

Ha, I call this bullshit. Why are you making it difficult for people when you could just retype your character name? It doesn't make any sense why you would send people to go look for your character name in the topic somewhere unless you're hoping people forget about it and can't be bothered to look. There is obviously some reason why you want my name. You might use it claim you are a lie detector and that I am lying, since after all you can't say I'm lying about my role due to me releasing the name of my target (no one else will come forward to claim the same thing). You know we all have roles that when we let them be known, we're flagging ourselves up for potential death. Yet I did so to gain trust.

I started playing Infamous 2 today. This game is fucking awesome. Didn't like the first much for some reason I don't remember, thought I'd skip to this one. Really loving this, I can see this draining my time.

Simply very suspicious of him? You were about ready to kill him: I'm going on a number of coincidences and now other people's evidence, a lot more than a U-turn hunch. Correct me if I'm wrong here - is it not normal for the town to try and get people they suspect to be Mafia lynched? Additionally I provided my role, and who I targeted to point out that it's less likely there is another roleblocker who is town. This is coming across very scummy and evasive, as further down in the same post you then state: I don't know whether you have or you haven't revealed it because you've said two different things. Either way, whatever bit of information you have revealed you are effectively belittling me for 'not taking notes' instead of readily repeating this information to ease suspicion. It's as if you're trying to have the best of both worlds - confessing to admitting stuff, without actually repeating it so hoping people can't be bothered looking back through pages of shit to find it. I've not read through a single topic on this forum where I've seen a detailed description of how Mafia kills work alongside abilities. I literally skimmed through the Peepsville and briefly the Marvel Mafia's that were recently done to get a flavour for the game. How on bloody earth are town supposed to lynch people if they don't put together the evidence linking potential scum together? I even asked if people had any evidence from potential tracking/investigating of him. Even weirder was that you were grilling him yourself and saying you were happy to vote him. That's the nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned - as you say, the Mafioso doesn't want to cast the first vote. Hence why you lacked any conviction to follow through and vote despite saying how you were so happy to do so. This is the last part I will address but I want people to remember. Dohnut is being evasive as fuck about his role, I've given mine. He was also the one to express intent to lynch Diageo, also the one to U-turn on hunch. The case against Diageo has only gotten stronger but I have both my eyes fixed on Dohnut. Vote: Diageo

Dude if people are sat in your reserved seat them throw them out. :p Or get the train guard to do it for you.

That's what I was getting at though, you were so confident that he was Mafia that you were willing to vote him and then U-turned in an instant based on no evidence and purely hunch. Such a knee-jerk reaction seems very scum-like unless it's your play style to mercilessly accuse people left and right. That's why I find it really odd you would accuse me of faltering and not making my mind up about Diageo. I find it interesting that you are calling me scum when I've revealed my role and targets, and haven't done so yourself. Exactly what are you hiding? I honestly don't know what could be the case here. I'm theorising here but it's possible that you realised Diageo was already suspicious and jointly decided to accuse / argue with him. People are unlikely to think you working together if you are at each other's throats, yet you still avoided voting him by U-turning. I don't know what ability/character you have or what it could mean for why you're acting the way you are. I will ask you again. I have revealed I am a roleblocker and my character is nothing like Darth Vader, I've been far more open than you thus far. What is your power?

It's a shame that Square Enix won't team up with Nintendo and make a sequel to Super Mario RPG. Always preferred it to Paper Mario if I'm honest.

Strongly considering a PC upgrade. Is this spec ok?
Sheikah replied to CoolFunkMan's topic in General Chit Chat
Yeah, you should do a separate resolution for each monitor configuration. I have the same Syncmaster by the way. :p I don't have an nVidia card so your control panel software (nVidia control panel I think it's called) is slightly different. But from what I can research, you don't want to clone displays in the way you're doing it. What you want I think is called DualView, although it might require having both display devices being hooked up to your PC before you switch your PC on.
