Warts are viruses that plant in the top layer of your skin, they don't grow roots deep into your hands (verrucas do though). They make the body produce tiny blood vessels which look like black dots in the wart and this keeps them alive, which is why they bleed or you can feel your pulse through them, and they basically just tell the body to overproduce skin to cover the fuckers up. Serve no purpose but the live in your skin, yummy. So when you get liquid nitrogen put into them, the virus's growth is frozen for about a fortnight they say, which gives the body time to react and sort it out usually. A blood blister forms underneath the wart, pushing it up out of its nesting spot and after a few days it's good enough to pick off. Hopefully it works.

I used the acid for months and it was working well with no pain but lost the tube of it, so decided to go to the GP to get it frozen off - felt class, it's so so cold, but the blistering afterwards is far from fun.

Went to my GP on Friday to get liquid nitrogen on a wart on the palm of my hand, had the wee bastard for far too long, and he gave me acid to keep applying on it after treatment, saying "it might blister after a while". Little did I know that 48-72 hours later I would be in agony! The blister is so fuckin sore it woke me up this morning! I can feel my pulse pumping through the wart, can't wait for this thing to fall off and leave me be. Anyone else got this done?

Haha I was wondering what the fascination was with us or the Scottish saying "film", I didn't realise we pronounced it differently to the Brits! So do you say "filllmm" and we say "fil-emm"?

Ah why not - here's my 42" Samsung HDRPTV showing US Wind Waker in Progressive Scan - tasty.

Great thread! I agree with Conzer, my favourite word is an Irish word: Féileacán (fayle-a-kaan) It means butterfly aww. He'd probably pronounce it differently to me because he lives in Wexford and I live in Belfast, so I speak Ulster Irish (obviously the canúint is fearr in Éirinn - isn't that right Conzer? ) I like crystal and sparkling as well.

What a load of ballix, feel sorry for the spastics who bid on these things. -
You mean me? Lol it's 50/50 with people telling me they either like it or not. I want a change, and I like the look, but if it's really that bad when it grows, I'll just get it cut short again.

Visuals I like. Pokémon I don't!

Agreed, now that my hair's getting longer using a good conditioner really helps it. That Aussie 3 Minute Treatment stuff is great.

I wouldn't grow my hair to look like either of those two to be honest. I'm not a heavy metal rocker and I'm not a fruity pretty boy, so I wouldn't be growing my hair for those reasons either. I think the style in my pic in my initial post is quite a contemporary cool look, rather than trying to look a certain way to fall under a group in society...if that makes sense? It's more like a "I couldn't give a fuck" laid back sort of haircut - would suit my lifestyle lol I've had it cut short, shaved even, for years, so this will be new and interesting for me and people I know.

Happens to the best of us mate lol my sister has straighteners but I don't know if I want to get into the way of straightening my hair - if it becomes waved out to the max, I could always go for that straightening relaxant you can get put in your hair. It's going to be strange no longer going to the barbers, but a hairdressers lol full of ladies and camp gentlemen toying with my hair Lol probably just someone you know that looks like him. We're from Belfast, it's unlikely it's the same guy you know!

I'd planned to leave it until there was some sort of length to it, and then head to a stylist and ask advice on how to achieve that style in the pic when the length is right. My hair's still quite short at the minute.

I've just left school, and have nothing really to do this summer or go anywhere important where I'll be expected to look respectable, so I've made the bold decision to grow my hair, to just past my neck. Someone suggested I Photoshop myself with a long hairstyle, and I have to say I liked the look! My hair's been short for years and years, so I know it's going to be a challenge. Does any of our long haired members have any tips for me for coping with the growing process? Anyone else planning on growing? My hair is wavy and will just look like a mess in the coming months Pic included:

Most: Twilight Princess (cheh, obviously) Least: Metroid Prime 3 If MP3 is running on GCN hardware, all well and good, we can expect to see massive graphical enhancements up and coming. Compared to Mario Galaxy, which actually looks like a next gen game as Maverick mentioned, MP3 looks no more impressive than Echoes to be honest. It needs a new look.

That's the thing though, will they have a PAL 60 PS mode, if they're only going to be using 480i/p as DCK is saying? EDIT: Hold on I'm confused - does this mean that all the PAL GCN games running at 60Hz aren't actually 576i, they're 480i? And Wii games will be the same?
-
Drop the actual glass in??
-
Are you sure? I think PAL games running at 60Hz look better than NTSC at 60Hz. I have both PAL and NTSC versions of Metroid Prime and PAL at 60Hz looks better than NTSC 480i (although Progressive is much better )
-
In PAL regions we're dealing with 576 lines instead of 480, so essentially when PAL material is in progressive display, we get an even richer picture than the NTSC folks. Well, technically anyway. So if your TV has a component in, you'll most likely be able to utilize the Progressive Scan mode in GCN and Wii games. To be honest, if you have a 100Hz HDTV like mine (standard PAL TVs are 50Hz/60Hz), you'll actually get a more stable picture in 100Hz display in terms of less flicker. Progressive Scan only enriches the display and makes things more colourful, fuller and sharper. Doesn't really do much for flicker, although you'll still get a much more stable picture with 576p than 576i (which is standard TV).

I'll be joining you on the import as well if they for some reason decide not to include Prog Scan for PAL. And the Wii Twilight Princess better be PS-enabled in Europe too, or I will be extremely unhappy It would be such a shame if we didn't get Progressive because we'd probably get 576p instead of 480p, being under the PAL system!

I tried it too, but I'm not experiencing any of these weird but cool feelings - am I doing something wrong? Are you meant to experience something realy strange? All I can hear in my earphones is noise lol
