It was the bit where you said "Sony must be laughing themselves to sleep over this. Had you all going and you fell for it." that I found insulting. Especially when you are basing it on nothing. This is the first time its happened so at the moment, until something else happens to back up your fears then its all just baseless to me.
-
Yeahhhh.... You are just making a whole lot of assumptions there and getting borderline insulting at the end. They've been trying to get a game made for 14 years for a series that never made a profit, it's very easy to see why companies didn't want to take a chance on it. I've seen nothing during this to make me think it's going to become a weird new trend.

Here we go then, back to Shenmue 1! Edit: Jesus Christ this Dreamcast heats up the room quickly!

NINTENDO @ E3: Let the Hype juices flow
Happenstance replied to Fused King's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah I do, it was pretty awesome this year -
Ok cool, think it was just the way you worded it made it seem like I should be taking a gamble on it.
-
You realise I was just talking about Kickstarter in general right and that was just a general warning so people understand? I backed Shenmue 3 as soon as I could at about 3am in the morning as it was being announced.

Just got an email from Amazon saying my Limited Edition copy of Arkham Knight has been delayed due to a packaging quality issue and I should get it no later than July 14th. In the mean time they will be sending out download codes for the game on Tuesday.

Quick update, my copy of Steins Gate did arrive yesterday. Just turns out that Base.com dispatch from Switzerland Anyway thanks to everyone who sent hundreds of PMs to me in support during this very dark time in my life.

Reviews are starting to come in. Looks like most people really like it and as expected, it seems like the Batmobile sections are what brings it down a bit. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/06/19/batman-arkham-knight-review http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/19/8811383/batman-arkham-knight-review-xbox-one-PC-PS4 http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/batman-arkham-knight-review/1900-6416169/

NINTENDO @ E3: Let the Hype juices flow

Also, its not like annual franchised games are the only games. You guys talk like COD etc are the only games the other consoles have. They're just the only ones that sort of fit this weird argument you try to make. -
Its funny, I used to really like Reggie but I absolutely cant stand him now. I was finding him more and more annoying as the years went on but I think it was the E3 where his answer to most question was just "PLAY THE GAME" in the most obnoxious way that broke the camels back.

Just watching Giant Bomb's live show from last night and Cowboy from Naughty Dog is on it talking about what happened at the conference with them not being able to control it. Apparently they think it was simply just the controller stopped working but it turns out that they didnt just switch to a pre-made video, thats still someone playing it live, they just had to scramble to connect up the backup dev kit they brought.
-
Yeah I was mentioning it more because people tend to think of it as a preorder service that will guarantee them that product and unfortunately thats just not the case. I've backed Bloodstained and Shenmue III and I probably wouldnt have done that if I didnt feel confident that they would get made.
-
Any of those games you listed could just not come out for any number of reasons and there would be nothing we could do about it if we wanted our money back. Yeah the company going under would be the big one but if they came across development issues that forced them to cancel the game, that would be it as well.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Happenstance replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah I've got no problem with agreeing that. E3 is to show what games are coming, those games are coming. Other games are also coming and they were either shown, on the show floor or have been shown in previous years. -

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I dont know, a lot of the games coming out this year were shown in some capacity at E3. Im at work so dont have the time to write up a list but just having a quick look at this wikipedia page shows them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_in_video_gaming -
NINTENDO @ E3: Let the Hype juices flow

Sega are the best comparison but also the worst. They were in a terrible situation when they were forced to go third party. People suggest Nintendo should go now because it would leave them a much better position than if they carry on this downward spiral and are then forced to go third party with a lot less money. -

I think I'm past caring on a personal level but still do on an industry one. I want to see Nintendo doing well, competition is always good for the industry and Nintendo becoming more and more of a joke helps nobody. -
Metroid Prime Wii U not likely to happen
Happenstance replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah I know its not popular with certain members but Nintendo third party would be my personal preference. I have no interest in buying another Nintendo console anymore but I'm sure there will still be a few games I would like to play. Just not enough to make me take yet another risk on their consoles. -
FFVII was my first big RPG which is why I think its a special one for me. I expect there are still much better earlier ones (I own all but never seem to get too far into them). I know 6 is very well regarded.

Oh yeah, just rub it in! :P

Hope my copy of Steins Gate arrives today, they dispatched it Monday so I'm suprised its not already here. Really in the mood to play it now!

Once a Kickstarter is funded though and if it then fails afterwards, you dont get your money back. Thats why people need to know that its not just a preorder service.
