  1. SSDs are getting faster though. Now if only they'd get cheaper.
  2. I just got a call telling me I start working at BP on monday. Hurray work. Unfortunately it's "suppose" to be a 2 week job, could be shorter or longer....I just hope it goes past the 28th because I don't want to go to the coal burner.
  3. I clicked on the thread just to see what it was about....the first thing I see is that completely retarded picture, I am now full(er?) of biased hate and shan't be bothered with impressions or listening to the music.
  4. I can't figure out why you quoted me.
  5. Sandy Bridge is pretty damn impressive, Intel has finally seen the way of having a top CPU at modest affordable price. It's actually very similar to what AMD did with their GPUs, except that Intel wasn't on the losing side of market share. Here's hoping Bulldozer delivers.
  6. It's pretty try hard to try and not look like try hards to each other.
  7. For a long time OEMs have only allowed their own video drivers to work no matter the type of card. Lately most of them have decided to allow the official drivers to work, which is good because OEMs never ever bother getting around to updating. Some OEMs (Toshiba and I think Sony) still don't allow this. There is probably a way around this (there always has been before) but I haven't really dug around to figure it out. I use to install modified desktop drivers which had limited effectiveness (GPU wasn't recognized correctly in model number). You don't necessarily need to update though, just every once in a while though drivers can really improve performance in various tasks.
  8. That's a nice and full featured laptop. The only downside being it's Toshiba, and they won't let you update video drivers from AMD. My old laptop was a Toshiba and I loved it, it's still running fantastically albeit with a broken screen (from a fall not shoddy workmanship). The only issue I ever had was my RAM died twice, the first time I sent it to Toshiba and they replaced (and shipped) at no cost, the second time I just bought my own RAM which was an upgrade in amount (and technically speed though it didn't utilize the higher speed) but main an upgrade in that it's still going after a year and a half(Approximately, it's long enough that the purchase isn't in newegg's records now.) running. Honestly RAM is a very YMMV component though, either it's going to work or it will die. Better brands are just higher probability of not dieing, but it's still possible and lower brands can live forever as well.
  9. This game can go fuck itself and it's fishing mini-game. I was having fun and quite enjoying the game for the first few hours of play. Then it decided to send me on a main quest to go get a fish...After trying for about 15 minutes I managed to catch some seaweed. The problem is, that after you hook a fish you're suppose to move the rod in the opposite direction of the fish to "decrease it's health" and then you catch it. Well, the vast vast vast majority of the time, the fish gets away before it starts moving, and of the 2 times that didn't happen for me, (once being seaweed) the damn thing got off the hook WHILE I WAS MOVING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. I don't know, maybe I'm just dumb as my friend who recommended it didn't mention fishing issues, in fact only Yahtzee did. He appropriately said it sucked. The game is fun though if you think you can get past the fishing. Edit: Well....after reading how to fish on gamefaqs, it's a bit easier. No where does the game mention that you should keep the left stick held back at all times. There is also the fact that the ass who gives you the fishing rod tells to you fish at the spot right next to him....according to the guide that spot is too high level for beginners. >.< My catch count is now up to 1, Aquatic Plant and 1. Rusty Bucket...
  10. Well Captein, you do use a whole roll to write the shopping list on. (btw new RA comic is up)
  11. Hmm I wonder if the text competes with the amount in Planescape Torment. I believe their claim was over 1,000,000 lines of dialogue, though now on GoG it just says "Professional voice acting, superb music, complex and gripping dialogue that covers over 5 000 pages." Still it's the wordiest gameI can think of for comparison.
  12. In the same stroke, the US got both Baten Kaitos games while you only got the arguably worse first game. Also both from Monolith Soft, though before Nintendo bought them.
  13. It's not cyber-rape if she does it willingly right?
  14. I believe it to be in good humor too, I suppose I probably throw insults too loosely.
  15. I think what Danny is trying to say, we're a bunch of twats at times. The people that stick around are use to it, but new members won't necessarily stick around long enough to get use to it.
  16. After playing Dead Space I think 3D menus could be pretty damn awesome looking...not the main attraction though.
  17. I've heard a lot of good things actually. Namely that it is worth buying. My copy is still in the mail...should have been here by now (logic dictates, seeing as how everything else ordered on the same day already arrived) but it's not expected until the 6th I think.
  18. I'm having flashbacks of some Dannyboy incidents...
  19. http://n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28860&highlight=Deadly+Premonition It's a woinderful game in it's own right, but bizarre is right. There is a really good Lets Play happening on SA though.
  20. I think I'll get drunk tonight in celebration. Scratch that, I thought I could do it, but no. I think it'll be a long time before I can call Vodka a friend again. Onto Cider, and congratulations to everyone else.
  21. I have a second hand account. I think it was Buckley who called my friend racist years ago. Of course, my friend did say something rather distasteful so Buckley wasn't really in the wrong....if it was him I can't remember. Irrelevant though. Gone with the Blastwave is something I've recently been introduced to...it's somewhat similar to Romantically Apocalyptic, except with more characters who are less insane and more dumb. I just like to imagine it as something of a prequel to RA, the war that destroyed the world.
  22. I played and loved the first Dragon Age. Still need to play the expansion though, and the DLC.
  23. This is absolutely fantastic. Much better than Hipster Hitler.
  24. I don't read CAD Penny Arcade or VG cats beyond the occasional post that may include them. I find the ones good enough to be posted in a forum are the cream of the crop, saving me the time of looking through the rest. I pretty much only follow Dr. McNinja (He's a McNinja who is a Doctor and a Ninja!) and Manly Guys doing Manly Things (I being the someone who recommended it Ellmeister). Assuming it ever updates, Brian Clevinger of 8-bit Theater is doing a somewhat interesting martial arts centric comic titled How I Killed Your Master....he never updates though what with having a published comics to work on though. Oh, and now Hipster Hitler and Romantically Apocalyptic both of which are amazing. Though RA is much more lovable.
