My new Hard Drive arrived and my RAM. Consequently, the Hard Drive is also the worst thing to happen today. Such a fucking headache.

Gaming is grand. Even with the relatively weak CPU, the GT335 keeps pace. I can play Darksiders at 1080p without issue. I haven't tried too much else beyond a bit of FEAR 2 and Borderlands both of which run and look great. Mostly high settings with some medium and low. 720p for the most part, I haven't really been bothered by the screen size/resolution enough to bother with my monitor except for Darksiders (and all the extra screen space for chatting and videos and browsing all at once).

I got it almost 2 weeks ago. It is fantastic. I'm amazed by the build quality, and it keeps remarkably cool as long as it has airflow. I love. The only downside is that it doesn't have Nvidia Optimus where the graphics switch automagically, and without issue. As it is anything intensive needs to be closed to switch, like flash videos, but not necessarily the web browser. Other than that it's great, I've ordered more RAM to go upto 4GB, and a faster larger HHDD (hybrid hard drive, it has 4GB of NAND Flash on it). Of course that means I'm going to have to do a fresh install, and re-download hours of steam games, but it'll be worth it.

And you were jealous of my M11x, now you have something better. I never had too much of an issue with the regular cord on my old headphones. Though my buds just arrived and the flat cord on these seems quite nice. The shorts or the model?

Cast commentary for Scott Pilgrim was pretty entertaining. Brandon Routh showed up late and brought food. They also called a guy and left a voice message during the credits and pointed out that Micheal Cera has a old flip phone.

Also Nier and Bayonetta. The Hard Drive is a 500GB Hybrid drive. It's a regular 7200 drive, but with 4GB of NAND flash (SLC). It's read only though, and the drive just caches the most used information in the Flash. It's basically the fastest you can get for a laptop without getting an SSD though. (comparable to Velocirapter at times) RAM is Mushkin 2x2GB of DDR3 1066.

Both titles are worth it.... I have been taking advantage of this sale since the start....I hate it. So much. I had 23 games before xmas....I now have 66. Some of those were gifts, but still.

Actually, all of these tools are for work. If she wants DIY though she can asked her husband to do it.

Well look for good brands, and read up on what northbridges are high end and which are low. Make sure the form factor is something that will fit in your case. Generally not an issue though as mid and full towers will both take Micro-ATX and ATX, but some cases are odd (generally HTPC cases). The placement of components can be important as well. A common problem with some boards is that a large aftermarket heatsink can interfere with some of the RAM slots making them unusable. You also have to think about cable placement and the distance between other hardware.
