I think "primetime television" is absolute garbage. Especially on commercial networks. Way to much breaks, adds that jump into screen when Bond is just about to hussle some hottie.
A dozen versions of "Idols". If channels like Discovery and/or History Channel finds something that catches on, they put out 5 shows with that same topic, milk it for a few years, never to look back at it again in the future.
I have a TV, but when its not on HDMI 1, 98% of the time i watch the regular Comedy Central. All reruns of shows i like. But most of the time its audio/visual wallpaper for when im roaming the internet.
Everything worth while thats broadcasted on TV will eventually find its way to the internet. Also, not having friends does have a few positive sides: i dont have to watch a shitty tv program, "because all my friends are watching it and if i dont watch it also, i cant talk about it with my friends". Friends can be replaced with something like "collegues", or just simply "peers".
There will be a moment in the near future where i unplug the tv from receiving regular channels. I'll just use the TV as a 2nd screen and watch Boogie's super unsexy face while lying on the couch.
Edit: something maybe worse:
Its almost through, not quite yet, but it seems that state regulated weed growing will become a thing in The Netherlands.
If this is real, it will mean 15 euro's/gram for probably shitty or thc capped weed. D:
