About the same age here. Im shy of old films because of the [compared to modern movies] slow pacing. Movies aged like 2001 or Apocalypse Now get away with it because they are pretty brilliant movies. But something like Soylent Green? Ugh, cant get past the first conversation in the movie. =[

Hey everyone! Im Naar, 32 years old, living in The Netherlands. I grew up playing a lot of videogames. When i was really young, my older brother bought his first NES set. It was so cool, just watching him play was enough. Completely missed the SNES era, because i was super busy playing outside, kicking balls and falling on my knees. I dont really regret having missed out on the SNES classics, but im trying to find my way to them through the VC. Picked up a N64 when i was a teen. Super Mario 64 blew my mind. Ocarina of Time blew my mind again. But Psycho Mantis asking you to put the controller on the table also blew me away back then. I see my gaming time during the N64/PS1 era as my golden age of gaming. Next gen i got the Gamecube, but i was also drawn towards PS2/XBOX because they had the more adult themes and happy Mario stuff wasnt cool anymore. So also got the PS2/XBOX. After that generation, my attention kinda drifted away from gaming. Still bought a 360, but couldnt really get into it. For the last 5 years i've been playing Skyrim like a deranged person. Think im about 1200-1300 hours in. Got a gaming itch again about a year ago. Followed the Playstation and X1 for a while, and that wasnt going to work for me. Sometimes shifty dlc policies, day 1 patching. So i put my hopes into Nintendo Switch. The reveal was a dissapointment for me. "I just want to buy a game, pay once, take the game home, put it in the console and start playing." The PS Vita Slim is, when it comes to hardware, n3DS' Jedi Master. But it doesnt have Mario, Zelda and Pokémon. So the n3DS XL it was. So far im pretty impressed. Last handheld was the first DS system, but this one feels so much less "toy-ish". Thats kinda why i signed up here. Gaming is fun, but talking about with likeminded people is a positive part of it. Looking forward to crushing all you people's highscores.

Coming to America (1988) On a bit of a nostalgia trip recently. Love how Murphy and Hall play their multiple roles. The movie has a scene i remember really well being a 6 year old boy.

Drone/Doom Metal from The Netherlands. Love this kind of stuff, but only during the winter. -
A cool onesie. If you're a Pokémon freak you ask for a Pikachu one, if you're a fan of racoons you ask for a.... you get the picture. Love onesies. <3

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Naar replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It looks awesome, both on WiiU and Switch. Because is a brand new Zelda, you know its going to be great. Personally, im really curious about the story. And why the Great Fairy's look like exact HD copies of their N64 counterparts... -
There is a built in hole in the ceiling of my bathroom [living room also]. Central.. ehm, i dont know how to call it. It sucks out air, but doesnt add anything. So it gets rid of smoke, smells and a humid bathroom because i like to shower at around 323,15 degrees Kelvin. So i just hang the clothes in the bathroom. One person household.

I grew up playing videogames in english, and watching cartoons with their english voices [dutch subtitles included ofcourse]. I can understand english almost perfectly. When i hear an Irish person talking, that stops, but thats pure accent. Also, when you start talking about rocket science, there may be some words i dont reckognize because im not a rocket scientist. :P Writing english [as you guys can see] is far from perfect. Can talk/understand German, just cant write it. All i know in French is: "je ne comprands pas", "parles vouz anglais?" and ofcourse "voulez vou couchez avec moi se soir".

Make content affordable. Ten bucks @ the theatre, 20 bucks on DVD, then 30 bucks on bluray on now again 30 bucks on uhd formats. So no, im not going to pay twice for the same content. I bought Skyrim for 55 euro's at launch for the 360. Few months after i sold my 360 i felt like playing Skyrim again. So i downloaded an illegal copy. Bethesda and everyone involved already had me paying full price for their product. When it comes to movies: i dont care if Tom Cruise can buy his 7th island today or next week.

History is repeating itself. =[

Arrival (2016) - Loved it. Alien contact without space lasers and Chaos Theory scientists. Amy Adams is also a sight for sore eyes. Les 12 travaux d'Astérix (1976) - Saw it for the first time as a kid in my PJ's on the couch saturdaymorning. Humour still delivers a chuckle.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Naar replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Has a Zelda game ever been about performance? :P Im hearing fresh gossip about a possible alternative ending to Breath of the Wild... Just gossip, no source as of yet. -
VR isnt ready to become the next giant leap in videogames yet, i think. The last giant leap in gaming was going from 2D to 3D. Since everything jumped to 3D, what has changed? Bigger worlds, higher resolution textures, but nothing really epic. That being said, i think it will take at least 5 years to deliver a triple A, full VR game. Not an VR experience, but an actual 50 hour long game. My favourite game of all time is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time [thats open to discussion btw]. That was my first full blown 3D adventure. All other games after that only have... bigger worlds, higher resolution textures. If i ever want to be more impressed with a game then i was back when i first played Ocarina of Time, it would have to be a full blown VR Zelda game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

Reminds me of the time Majora's Mask was released and i wanted to take 3 days off from school. I was abit younger then, so mom didnt agree. Also, back then, mom's the word. About this game: looks stunning, looks like something i really want to play. But i wont, because im not getting a Switch.
