Yeah, but that itch about upgrading...it would break me. It's part of why I don't game on PC; I'm lazy. A fixed-point plug-n-play headset is ideal for me personally. Part of me does wish I could dive right in to PC VR and really toy with it but just not enough of me. Luckily my brother is a big PC gamer and he's got an Oculus dev kit (I think the second one but I'm not 100%) and he'll definitely upgrade, so I'll definitely give it a go when I can. It's all pretty exciting and honestly, I think both approaches will benefit each other.

New character posters.

I won an award for 'Best Dressed' at work. God knows how, I generally try and do something with whatever is clean. If it's not been picked off the floor of my room, it's a lucky day. But I am humbled by everyone's terrible taste. I got a snazzy Ben Sherman knitted tie as a prize (I wear ties occasionally, apparently this is shocking).

It being a closed system is actually what appeals to me. It's plug and play. Would I like a high-end PC and another headset? Sure. But I don't want to spend that kind of money and I can't be arsed faffing around. I get the appeal, but it's not for me.

Ah, yeah, I was doing front squats until recently. I'll give Goblet Squats a go and see how they do me. They sound promising. Thanks for the advice! As much as I like programs, I do like tailoring them a little. I'll mess around with these either this week or next.

Interesting bit about the processing box. I wonder how much it can really help with framerate and such. I also wonder about the cost, Oculus and the like are essentially just display devices so this will probably put Playstation VR at a bit of a disadvantage. I guess we shall see.

Apart from the big exercises, I don't stick to the program 100%. For example the gym I go to during the week has pretty different equipment from the one I go to on Saturday so my Legs day is unavoidably different. The exercise I do for biceps also differs on both Pull days; I switch between wide-grip, over-hand grip, close grip, hammer curls pretty freely. I'll have a look into cleans. So yeah, I vary exercise as much as I feel I need to to stay interested. I'm totally with you guys with watching out for burn out but I'm not that strict with exercises and I'm only aiming to do this program for 12 or so weeks, then I'll find a new program. I tend to get bored of programs after about four months anyway, so that's within my comfort zone. I'm going to look up Goblet Squats and Waiter Walks now. Did some weighted decline sit-ups today. They were okay, easier than earlier in the week so there's that.

Nah, I'm a big masochist. I kind of like being in the gym for so long. I've basically started taking 90-minute lunch breaks. If I make my workout shorter it just means I go back to work sooner anyway. Ha!

I'll give squatting a go before deadlifts today. Thanks for the heads up. When you say cut down on volume, do you mean the number of reps every set? Yeah, I'm finding PPL taking well over an hour to do but I'm not too phased by the 5/6 times a week. I've never usually gone to the gym on the weekend so it's the 6th one that I'm not sure I'll stick to. I've been doing five days a week for the past six months. but we'll see, it's easy to not get bored starting off because I'm noticing a lot of strength gains but we'll see how that progresses. I'm hoping limiting this to about 12 weeks is going to give me a target to work toward, thus making it a little less monotonous. But yeah, we'll see.

Nice one! Good job @Fierce_LiNk I'm working on my deadlift again, just as a supplement to a new program so I'm going to try and not push for too heavy a weight and just look to be comfortable on it (because...it's the first exercise I do on leg day before squats LOLthisissuffering). I have started a new program. Gave it a quick run through before I went to New York a couple weeks ago but now I'm half way through the second proper week. It's a Push Pull Legs routine and I'm really liking it. It does kind of require me to go six times a week but I might alternate between 5 and 6 depending on how I feel. At the moment I do P/P/L/P/P/L/Rest. I've really had to up my food intake. I'll take this through to end of march then look at where I'm at. I've identified a couple areas of weakness: Biceps. Any advice? While my arms are pretty big, it's mainly because of my awesome triceps. But I don't feel great doing bicep exercises. I do them at the end of routines and they a little boring to do. Abs. I just find these kind of dull to do and I semi-hit them with all the core lifts I do but still...could add one or two more exercises in to help.

What's wrong with Simon Pegg writing? He's a better choice than a lot of other people and he definitely loves the source material.

To be completely fair, these films don't have a TV series to fill in the background. All the other Trek films had hundreds of episodes to contextualise them. This does not have that luxury. And yes, Into Darkness was a piece of shit – but Damon Lindelof wrote it, so that's no fucking surprise. He isn't writing this though. Trailers are a hard one. People complain it doesn't give enough info, it spoils everything, it looks shit (somehow you can judge the whole film from 120+ seconds), etc, etc goditsboring. People are way too critical of trailers; they are marketing that will eventually be lost to time and they have the incredibly hard job of having to appeal to the fan boys and the n00bs alike. As for this trailer? Personally, I think it looks fine, it's become Fast & Furious in space (but to me, Star Trek has aways been a TV series first and foremost). I'll watch it because it looks like fun, sure that's not really what Trek is about but until that TV show starts up, can you really expect any more?

I've been away and super busy during the past couple weeks but I should be back on this more now. Had a go on the Jakku level and...was overwhelmed. Not a clue what was going on and still came third. I could tell I was in a shitty game because I got the award for highest points from Objectives.

Sorry, didn't see this. Haven't been on this much recently, might be up for it this week.

Awwwww, yisssssssss motherfucker. This looks like it's coming along nicely.

Gave the Sparrow racing a few goes yesterday. It felt a bit meh. I got a Legendary helmet and one of them new Legendary sparrows which was Void. I kind of think the mode needs weapon power ups, because otherwise it's just a crap weaponless Wipeout.

There's still a chance they could cross over. I reckon it would involve Barry running into Earth-Something. And just a non-spoilary warning, the episode before that big bit is really bad. And honestly the series isn't great but it is slowly improving for the most part. This thing that has happened has hooked me at least for the next few episodes.

Holy shit. So this finally kicked into gear a bit this week. DAT REVEAL!!

The crappy rubber on the sticks is an issue with earls DS4s. The problem has been rectified so it shouldn't happen again. All my launch controllers had crappy rubber but the replacements and the new ones I bought don't have an issue. Broken triggers? That's a whole other issue.

I actually think the only way I could deal with this is episodically. I find it hard to do big games anymore.

I'll probably give the races a go tomorrow.

Honestly have no idea how anyone can think this when they purposely decided to forgo releasing the film this year. Also, X-men worked just as well – if not better – than Disney's films and they were crammed full of heroes. As for this trailer, it was badly put together (because it's got to the point in marketing where subtlety isn't the tact you want to take, the film is out in three months) but in terms of content, how does any of this not look good? The interaction between Clark and Bruce was on point. How people, Dazzy in this case, can say things like it looks 'utterly abysmal in almost every way' is beyond me, just on the basis of Junkie XL doing the soundtrack and Larry Fong on cinematography (on top of that Affleck, someone who's shown himself to be a more than competent director, has chosen a writer that he is confident in) you know it's going to have a couple great things about it, makes me think some people have finally perfected the ability to vocalise liquid projectile shit. (Also, how the holy hell are David Ayer and Patty Jenkins not interesting? Not bashing Disney Marvel but it's pretty laughable to have a go at Warner Bros for not being interesting when their attitude to Marvel properties are nothing but cooky-cutter at best and disrespectful at worst – take Thor for example. It's that kind of warped thinking that labels Captain America as a 'political thriller'. Oh lord. If Disney were even remotely interesting they would just have made Captain America 2 the Black Widow film it should always have been or had some kind of variation in aesthetic and film grading across their films or not fired Edgar Wright or wouldn't have been on their third Hulk – the second in-continuity – or had a villain worth remembering who's name wasn't Loki.)

I've not read Civil War, though I've been told about it. I don't really have much doubt that the context for the debate in the comicbook is much more realised than it is here. I just find these movies frustrating and pandering. And this is coming from someone who forgave a lot of the issues in The Dark Knight Rises because I already had the comics give that mess of a film context. Although, in retrospect, there are only really a couple singular scenes in the film that rise above the whole mess of it.

What? Why is Tony the one pro-registration? He bucks authority every fucking film?! This is so against character and even if it wasn't, it's so insincere since everyone already knows who he is already and he'll probably break whatever rules he wants if and when he needs to. It's so hackneyed, like Stark's post Avenger's PTSD. Also, they have had supervision for the most part, that's what SHIELD was. Wasn't it? Why didn't do any of these heroes do anything proactively after it fell. Why does General Ross have to be the one to come in and point this out? What happened to 'With great power comes great responsibility?' "If we don't accept limitation we're no different from the bad guys." This was literally Cap's whole motivation in Winter Solider. Why has this changed? "What do we do?" "We fight." It's so generic, so infuriating. This is about CW-standard writing. ("I don't know what to do!" "Run Barry, run!") And I've honestly never thought of Cap and Stark as friends. Colleagues, sure. Friends? By proxy only. Thematically, what the hell is the theme of this film? At least there's no mcguffin.
