Finally made the switch! [Click.] Friend code is 6860-0827-6011, if anyone would like to add me

Hmm... ...I could see that supposedly leaked release date from PlayStation Destination having some truth to it. Every time we get an update about this game, I can't help but feel that it's nearing its completion. Guess I should probably go play the first one this summer

Won't put the title here yet, just see for yourself! -
Marvel's Disney+ efforts have pretty awful titles. There will also be an animated show called What If?, exploring, well, 'What if?' scenarios in the MCU. MCU actors will be reprising the voices of their roles, and Kevin Feige has previously revealed that the first episode will be about Peggy Carter becoming a super soldier and a scrawny Steve Rogers using a suit made by Howard Stark.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (November 15th 2019)
Julius replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
To be fair, that's simply because it's so soon after the change from Republic to Empire -- they're using repurposed and repainted Republic era ships (V-Wings) as opposed to TIEs in that scene. Same goes for the cruisers: we see Republic era Venator class cruisers which have been painted grey at the end of RotS as opposed to Star Destroyers. For the record, the downed cruiser in the poster above isn't a Star Destroyer either -- that's a Venator class cruiser. I don't think it makes a difference when it's set in the slightest, because it will have little impact on the quality of Respawn's storytelling efforts. The Clone Wars is mostly great and is set during the prequel era. I'd actually much rather it be set closer to III this time around so that there's room for potential sequels or other projects to exist in the same space, but that being said, I am starting to get a bit tired of everything being shoved in between III and IV since Disney's take over: sequel trilogy aside, we have four seasons of Rebels; Solo; Rogue One; and far too many comics and novels set in the 19 years or so between those films. It feels like they're needlessly narrowing their scope: there are great stories to tell throughout the timeline, so I hope that after IX we start seeing more of a concerted effort to fill in the gaps in other periods. -
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (November 15th 2019)

Pretty sure they've confirmed that it will be taking place between III and IV, but yeah, it seems much closer to III than IV from what I've seen going around. That being said, I doubt it literally takes place just after III ends ("shortly after" is pretty vague), so I have to imagine that there'll have been enough time for them to transition from V-Wings (what we see at the end of RotS) to TIE Fighters. Probably get a prologue during Order 66 with the main character as a budding padawan watching his master get sliced down, though. I'm just hoping that it isn't too similar to other stories (i.e. Kanan's) that have already been told in canon. Wouldn't mind a hint or two at some ancient Jedi/Sith stuff in this game. We know that Old Republic stuff is the most likely era to carry the franchise after IX, and the tweet clearly makes use of McQuarrie's ancient script used in many pieces of his Staff Wars concept art. That lightsaber design is giving me Old Republic vibes too, actually. @Ganepark32, yep, that's what I've read too. The Frostbite engine looked at its best in the Battlefront series, in my opinion (it didn't run great all of the time, but looked much better than it did in EA's sports catalogue of games), but I'm 100% behind seeing Star Wars in UE4. Strange that I've only just seen Schreier over at Kotaku report this, though. It's been out there for quite some time -- guess he was busy just corroborating sources. -

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (November 15th 2019)

Official poster: Love it. Looks just like the concept art from the Making Of books for the prequels and the Art of books for the sequels. Can't wait to get more of a look on Saturday -- certainly cautious after EA's spotty-at-best track record with their handling of the Star Wars license, but optimistic that Respawn will bring something great to the table! -
The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]

New PV for Weathering with You: Looks absolutely phenomenal -- if there was an award for the best animated rain, Shinkai films would win every time. Great to hear that RADWIMPS are back too! -

Some stills from Makoto Shinkai's upcoming film Weathering with You: Looks exactly like a Shinkai movie, which is to say that it's stunningly beautiful -
It's official: Persona 5 is joining the PlayStation Hits lineup!

The Chinese poster for Endgame is awesome Bit of a shame that we had to learn about the fates of some of the characters that survived/got dusted by The Snap through this poster and the character posters that released the other day, but oh well! I imagine tickets will go on sale next week. Probably on Tuesday, if I had to guess, based on the precedent set by other films waving that Disney flag for Lord Mickey

Well, like I mentioned before, it's more along the lines of a poster which will have elements utilised in commercial packaging (such as you boxes, advent calendars, etc.). The closest thing that comes to mind is a similar poster for The Last Jedi used only in merchandise and packaging, which is nowhere near the greatness of the teaser poster for The Last Jedi. Because it's a cluttered mess of a poster: So yeah, in terms of Star Wars posters, the one for IX floating around right now is probably a 5 at best -- but it's probably not fair to compare it to the teaser/final posters we've had for prior films. It's best features are easily the assets which raise and answer questions plenty of questions about the film, but other than that...yeah. And even though this promo poster got leaked, which is a sign that someone isn't doing their job right, thank the Force that the poster's designers were and left the title out (assuming that they even know it yet?), because that would have been nigh on impossible to avoid if it had been included.

@bob, I'd stick that in a spoiler tag I can imagine that there might be some here who would rather learn about these things in an official trailer/poster as opposed to in a leaked promotional poster mock-up Also, I'd imagine that the dedicated Episode IX thread would be a more suitable destination for this (spoiler tagged?) image

The film might be a colossal 182 minutes long...

Hmm. And here I was, planning on finally picking up a Switch next month -- a Mini model wouldn't have delayed that purchase, but the talk of a second console releasing this year too make me guess that I'm putting that on hold for now and diving back into my PS4 and 3DS hopefully they say something sooner rather than later if there really are plans to release two consoles this year, because I don't know how much longer I'll be able to hold out...

Glad to see that they're still strongly supporting PSVR, but beyond that, I think it would be an understatement to say that it was underwhelming. That being said, I agree 100% that copying the Direct format is much better than going along the Inside Xbox line of things, like @Hero-of-Time mentioned. Even a poorly done Nintendo Direct can often be saved, to some extent, by the "But wait, we have one more thing!"; that they had nothing along those lines to share (and by that, I mean even just release dates for the big games that they've already revealed), especially with it now being over nine months since last E3, indicates to me that we can expect a whole lot of nothing from State of Play moving forward. After that, I can't help but wonder: what is the point in not turning up at E3 this year? Because based on what we just saw, I don't think I'd be wrong to assume that theure just going to save all of their big news until that period anyways?

So, uh, Persona 5 R: The Royal? It's so unclear as to what it is. I'm guessing she's a first year student from her uniform, and apparently she says that she's not really a fan of the Phantom Thieves or their methods of helping people. Is it DLC? A new game/sequel? An enhanced version with the option of a female protagonist, kind of like Persona 3 Portable? I kind of doubt that last one, but who knows just throw us a bone, Atlus! More information coming on April 24th.

According to Play-Asia, Persona 5 will be getting a PlayStation Hits edition, which is set to be released next month (April 2019). This would seem to suggest, at least to me, that Persona 5 R/the Persona 5 R projects will not be/include an enhanced edition of Persona 5, a la Persona 4 Golden, as it would most likely result in both confusion and cannabilised sales in conjunction with this PlayStation Hits release. I think this gives credence to the possibility that we'll see a sequel of some sorts, whether it be its own game or, much more likely, some story DLC for Persona 5. Not long until we find out, either way!

No new footage, but a really strong TV Spot nonetheless:
