Beating the Drought: What Have You Been Playing?
welsh_gamer replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I've been going on Wii Fit daily to do some virtual walking mostly and a few Jack-knife's, got back into playing Medal of Honor Heroes 2 Capture the Flag games on-line, pick up my guitar for the odd session on Guitar Hero and I've joined in the N-E Thursday night Mario Kart battles. I do have Okami to play but I'm not in the mood for a game where I have to focus on story etc right now. -

Warner Bros. delay Half Blood Prince Til July '09
welsh_gamer replied to Tphi's topic in General Chit Chat
Warner Bros are idiots. This means that the only blockbuster out this fall will be Quantum of Solace, so just like last year there will be no reason to visit the cinema during November or December. -
The Last King of Scotland Intresting and disturbing film. Forrest Whittaker is brillant as the unpredictable president and James McAvoy proves he can act. Didn't think there would be much story, but I was proven wrong. 9/10 The Godfather Part II I only recently got round to watching the first part, and enjoyed it very much, and after hearing that the second part was meant to be one of the best sequels ever, I was looking forward to spending an enjoyable three hours with this, but sadly that wasn't the case. I enjoyed the scene's set in the past with DeNiro very much, but the rest of the film was very boring. Nothing that intresting happened, Al Pacino is a bore to watch, the story was pretty confusing and unlike part one it looked very dated. Rating : No comment, or Oxygen_waste will hunt me down... Million Dollar Baby is one of my favourite films ever. I've been catching up on some Eastwood films this year. Haven't got round to watching the Dollars trilogy yet, but do check out Unforgiven, Mystic River, In the Line of Fire, Where Eagles Dare, Absolute Power and of course Dirty Harry.

Vantage Point Allright, if a little dull at times. Probably more enjoyable if you like show's simillar to 24. Way to easy to guess who the main traitor was. 5.6/10

I've played through Ocarina around 5 times, and will probably do so again in the future, but I'd much rather see new games also. I'd rather see a DVD documentary or 'Making of' book about Ocarina of Time and it's legacy, if they were planning on doing something to celebrate it's 10th anniversary.

Gamestation Disk Cleaning For GC
welsh_gamer replied to david.dakota's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It's costs £3 at GAME, so I'd imagine it's the same at Gamestation, and I'm pretty certain they fix Gamecube disks too. -
Happy B-Day Tales!

Juno Disappointing. I didn't warm to her character at all and they could have dealt with a few more pregnancy issue's. Had a small amount of good scenes, particulary the one's with the great J.K.Simmons and Michael Cera. 5/10

South Park The Movie The first act is marvellous, but the second isn't that great. Songs are good throughout! 5/10 The Mummy Years since I last saw this, and was pretty suprised to find it just as good as I remembered it to be. Great modern action adventure flick with plenty of suspense, great characters, fantastic action, impressive CGI and many humourous moments. 8/10 The Mummy Returns Starts off well, but once they reach Egypt it fails in most departments. Still somewhat enjoyable. 5.5/10 Force 10 from Navarone Robert Shaw and Harrison Ford team up to blow up a dam in this 70's WW2 flick.Good stuff! 7/10

I had the old and new version of the original Funfax, the spy one pictured above, a school one (possibly, may be imagining this one), and a fat encyclopedia one. Think I've kept the encyclopedia one, may look for it later.

If you could get one game singed by Shigeru Miyamoto, which would it be? Think I'd go for The Legend of Zelda : The Wind Waker on Gamecube, on which Miyamoto was producer. Not only would the a sig look good on the "goldish" cover, but my copy is also the limited edition one, so Ocaina of Time would also be getting signed for in a way.

People Who Need To Be Punched In The Face
welsh_gamer replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
Jo Frost. She has no children of her own, but this dominatrix think's she has the right to tell people how to raise their own? Pathetic. CJ "I'm much more better than you" Demmoi. Such a prat. -
Imagine by John Lennon. I'm a huge Lennon/McCartney fan, but this song is far too dull and repetitive to be in the top 5 of many "best song" polls.

Double-bill at the cinema today :- The Mummy : Tomb of the Dragon Emperor I enjoyed the first 2 installments (haven't watched them in years though) but this was just horrible. The story had potential but isn't executed well, the action is pathetic, the humour childish, the CGI dated, the acting wooden, it doesn't even look like the actors are trying and Maria Bello is horrible as Evelyn, who she portray's as some posh pensioner. Avoid like the plague. 1.5/10 The Dark Knight Awesome! Very enjoyable, and a great sequel to Batman Begins. What all the others who enjoyed the film said basically I also got to see it for free, as some old woman in front of me in the queue had free tickets 9/10

Yep. It's awesome. Great story, brillant animation, fantastic soundtrack, funny and quoteable dialogue. Think there are a few fans of Shrek 2 on here. Btw, my other 10/10 animated films are :- Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Wallace and Gromit Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

Just Cause Suprisingly decent thriller with a good cast, story and twists. Ed Harris is great in his role here! 6/10 Star Wars Episode 3 : Revenge of the Sith The last 20minutes or so are pretty good, but the rest of the film is just extremely poor. 4/10 Shrek 2 One of my favourite animated films. No faults here. 10/10
