    Fallout 3

In the end I read through the instruction manual and had many "ooooooohhhhh that's what it does" moments. Eventually I managed to quick travel back to vault 101 from where I had managed to run to, but then there were some mercenaries waiting for me. Made it to megaton but not yet sure what to do apart from maybe screw myself over by blowing it up.

    Fallout 3

I only got the game recently so haven't had a chance to get the dlc. But I'm 5 hours into the game, and I've faced super mutants and raiders in my search for megaton. Also I've been chased by some Mercs. If I knew megaton was just around the corner from vault 101, I probably would be liking this game a lot more.

    Dark Void

Played the demo. Died within 5 seconds of take off by eating mountain side. Second run through went better, but this is another one of those meh titles. Shoot some aliens, do some duck and cover. Fly around with a jetpack like an aeroplane. Kind of like Hawk has a love child with gears / Uncharted.

    Bayonetta

HMV are doing the special edition with CD and artbook / manga for 40 quid. @Shorty Mass effect works best on the PC.
  5. I like to opt for a ninja style walk when walking on particularly icy surfaces. Going out running in freshly fallen snow isn't too bad. Not so much fun when its been lying around a few days. And going on the subject of cats. Way back in middle school the going around rumor was that some guy's brother fingered a cat and then it died. So people used to pick on him a lot about it.
  6. Well I thought what came out of both camps at this years CES was a bit meh. Although I do like the idea of PSN content being accessible across all platforms.
  7. Capcom backtracks on previous comment says sorry Via: MCV, and spong, Eurogamer
  8. I would have set up fail as a variable and then put New language as loop and increment fail. Then probably printf Fail at life when fail == 5
  9. Current temp is minus 3, Sunny with moderately blue skies. Its quite depressing seeing the snow fall off rooftops and water trickling down the gutters.
  10. Snow is melting. Looks like I'm back in the office tomorrow. It was fun while it lasted.

    Bayonetta

Nah I decided not to order with shopto because of my current undelivered item. Turns out I'm getting a refund. And they only do the collectors edition for the PS3 it seems

    Bayonetta

I took 15 minutes waiting on the phone this morning to find out why my next day delivery order is 15 days late. People are there at the moment, but it seems like they may close early as the phones where off at 4pm yesterday. Does anyone know if they Bay special edition can be brought anywhere. Want that soundtrack CD.
  13. I thought that the wallpaper was the pixel breaker clock, which I think is a nice touch. If its not then that is pretty lame. Edit: Just looked on the nexus google site. I'd have to agree there shorty. That dodgy carbon fibre wallpaper doesn't do too much for that menu.
  14. Terrible war down at engadget. Seems the exclusive review didn't go down so well with the crowd. But to tell the truth the review was somewhat biased towards the Iphone. But I think a great feature of the nexus one is flash support. Don't see that too often. Still want a motorola milestone though.
  15. Rare (remember them) may be able to give you some answers. Also I think we've got a rockstar floating about. But it may also be worth keeping in mind that certain studios are funded to make certain games, and can also be kept afloat by parent companies. At the same time a game can make or break a company. Factor 5, Free radical design. Anyway more inline with your questions, you would be paid a salary for the most part like anyone else, unless you are on working terms where you are paid for your time, but that mainly applies to consultants and they don't do any work anyway. RE part 4. Might need to talk about game engines, as a lot of companies implement them to cut down on development times. And obviously there are stages from concept art to various levels of rendering, to final production model. Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_engine But its up to you if it fits or not. Also could talk about licensing fees which relates to how the industry works, and financial side of point 2. Will likely add a branch to Will's model, but no need to pay license fees for games released on the PC.
  16. I agree with what you say tape deck & quotes from Dante. But there were certain features of the cube that held it back in some regards and once again it was down to decisions taken by nintendo. With the wii the thing that is holding it back from getting more multi platform releases isn't the controller but the capabilities of the box. But I'm glad that for the most part games aren't hindered as much by making the graphics to a standard that will run on the PS2. With the Cube it was on par with other consoles, but the content medium didn't have much storage space. Plus nintendo didn't think too much of online, and it was left to fans to make the most of it (Warp pipe project, warppipe.com rip) I seriously loved burnout 3, and black to name a few. But even without the online elements I don't think those games would fit on a single 1.5GB disc. But that isn't to say the Gamecube didn't have much third party support, because even towards the end of its life time it still got some mutiplatform third party releases. (going off on a wing here: THUG 2, Prince of persia TT, Second sight, Red dead revolver, Fifa and some were even US only like lego star wars) I just think that nintendo is always stuck in this "eh it should be enough mentality" putting out the Gamecube broadband adapter but then limiting it to using only a handful of games. (Phantasy star online and homeland you can probably think of more) Or otherwise limiting that further to LAN. It sounds like that after Sega has come out saying this, capcom have jumped on the band wagon too. I think nintendo can still turn things around. But I might be one of those situations where they once again have to lead by example. Because remember no one wanted to give the Wii the time of day before. I just think since Sony and Microsoft are touting their doppelgängers certain companies are putting nails in the coffin.
  17. Love money have always said mobile phone insurance is a scam anyway. http://www.lovemoney.com/news/insurance/the-big-mobile-phone-insurance-scam-3274.aspx Here's a comment someone made at the end of the article: Might be worth checking out.
  18. Probably. I guess I just really want a reason to still like it. But I think first time round it was a childhood friend. Must be the green tea I had. Made me start splurting out this zen wushu crap. Either way I guess we'll find out in 6 months if it can still print money.
  19. Still the Wii is like the little brother you don't want to give up on. Still holding out hope that something good will come along and make you smile again. But one thing I've noticed is that with the Cube that was mine. I brought all the games accessories etc and I could do whatever I want with it. With the Wii I brought it. I still buy all the games and accessories etc. But its not mine. Ever since the day it was connected up to the living room tv it stopped being mine. I quite enjoyed sailing on the blue ocean for awhile. But I think this is where I'll get off. Our paths may cross again once in a while, but I don't think i'd ever stay for anything more than a drink and a brief chat. Even a new smash bros couldn't bring me back.
  20. No my friend. It is because nintendo has forgotten what it means to "leave luck to heaven." When was the last time they invoked such spirit and cheer in the hearts of men (and women) like this.... Wish the youtube tags accepted time variables but just pretend the video started at 24 seconds. Then pretend it finishes at 1.32
  21. That's from all the pot he's been taking. But Sony and Microsoft think its cool and so have decided to start taking some too. Hopefully they won't get addicted. All though I have been wondering for a while if N-E will ever go multiformat. Wouldn't be the first nintendo site to do so.
  22. Only thing on the horizon that will bring me back to the Wii will probably tales of graces. But that's an RPG, and like hell my family will let me sit there and play an RPG on the main Tv. And I'll be damned if I try taking the Wii to my room. Catch 22. So I just decided to get an xbox 360 and screw the whole thing. To me Nintendo is like the friend you've had your whole life. Went to school together, best friends in nursery and primary school. But then in secondary school he decides he doesn't like you anymore and goes off with his blue ocean friends. You try to be nice and check in on him from time to time. But as time goes by you just fall more and more apart. Last Wii game I bought was Conduit. Nuff said.
  23. I might get one of those N900 doo hickies too. Milestone is taking waaaay too long to go mass market and I can't be fooling around with my mobile and the way the buttons keep jamming up. But 5 years worth of service is something you can't fault.
  24. Well I would believe them on their coverage improving since the merger is due this year.
  25. That was the only thing putting me off a 360. But in the end I caved. Don't regret it but I'd prefer if I never get RROD.
