  1. Would probably agree with that but i'd say it's down to placement and size. Some android apps I've accidentally triggered ads due to where they were place but that is down to the developer who eventually moved it to a less hittable area. I would say iAds should only be in free apps which is is a fair way of the developer getting something in return.
  2. Nothing new but the way they've implemented it should help increase the signal quality. Apparently whatever iphone it is with the metal casing. ( is it the 3g?) has issues with signal quality due to the metal blocking the antennae. By extending the reach of the antenna by building it into the shell, there is pretty much no interference. Now that is some good R &D. Simple yet effective.
  3. Like the new concept of app, apping. There's an app app for that. Up next is probably iAd
  4. Html 5 demos may be back. Does anyone know what clock speed the iphone chip is running at. Probably still the 1GHZ of the ipad? Or maybe downclocked it to 800MHz?
  5. The whole thing about iMovie probably explains why some apps were recently kicked out of the app store. Boo at not being free.
  6. I'm really looking for features outside the hardware. Such as connecting to other devices and creating a seamless experience across them. So far biggest features for me are the screen and battery life, and the use of the band as an antenna. But I think most of the wow factor isn't there due to the guy's who weren't invited to the party.
  7. You know, the thing that connects to the next work so you can make calls, and use mobile internet. Perhaps if also connected wifi. And yay at addition features from Nexus one / Android. Edit: seems like they've gone for a sony style six axis control. Expect to see iMove in a few years time. "Gyro joins 4 other sensors, accelerometer, compass, proximity and ambient light sensors." I've got those already.... hmm...... but gotta keep up with the pack I guess.
  8. Yeah it is pretty funny. I really want to know the inner workings of the tech behind the retina display. I mean he said 78% of the resolution of the ipad in a 3.5 inch screen. I'm not an apple lover but I can commend good tech. Although so far the iphone 4 only really has a better screen. Don't think this trumps what happened at I/O a few weeks ago. That is one fattass battery. I guess its needed to power what is probably components from the ipad development line.
  9. Pretty much cube sums it up. I've got 3GB on my T-mobile plan and I think I used up 79MB last month. I think my highest usage has been 1.2GB but that was when I was lost in London and did loads of Google maps navigation which was hacked on at the time, and web browsing over 3g + youtube. Ash to brush up on your handset knowledge try: http://www.gsmarena.com
  10. Well I think the desire only has Ram and HTC Sense over the nexus one. Nexus one has dual microphones over the Desire and Galaxy S. Galaxy S has quite alot over nexus and the desire, but I think that Touch Wiz UI dwarfs the experience. However the one thing the nexus one has over both is android 2.2 which I hear is blisteringly fast. As far as Iphone goes kinda feel bad for Gizmondo for being locked out of the show but in retrospect they made tons of money with the stolen iphone 4. Gotta give them the innovation vote for the band being used as an antenna. Will shut quite a few complainers up. Add to that a very impressive screen at 326ppi. Steve is trying to load the NY times website. It's not working on the Iphone4. Sucks when you're trying to demo something and it breaks down. EDIT: iphone4 browser demo collapsed. Rest of iphone 4 demo seem to be over as they were probably all web / html5 based.
  11. This worked surprisingly well:
  12. I guess it sucks when you're not the leading lady anymore:
  13. Ehh you don't really want it it's a pretty crap job but that's quangos for yah. I just used cash that was in my business development account as I'm hoping to strike it out on my own this year and stick it to the man by becoming one myself. Although I did make a saving on CS5 as the commercial edition costs £1,773 which is almost twice what I paid for my car.
  14. Bought a couple of things but play.com seriously need to sort out the packaging. 8GB Micro SD Card £9.99 HTC Desire screen protector £4.99 Yes this came in this very large box all by itself. Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design premium £326 I also needed a relatively large portable hard drive so the cheapest I could find was Might try and scratch the MJ off it, otherwise I don't think clients will take me seriously when I use it to back up their data during a repair. £52 Also been feeling a bit retro so got Transformers season 1 £5
  15. Don't worry honey, I fixed it:
  16. Have to agree with Cube. 12 month contracts are a rarity. And 18 month contracts are the lesser of two evils where found.
  17. You used to be able to cancel through Xbox.com, now you have to call customer support. Takes about 5 minutes but was an easy process. If you ever decide to use live again I would recommend the voucher route rather than the insert card details here route.
  18. Last I heard he was in a critical condition. Farewell Gary, you gave us some funny times.
  19. Ten10 never joined. The flaws were obvious from the outset. Poking was one thing that put me off but I could see the downfall of the downfall in privacy. The fact of the matter is if you're going to put something on the internet and it something you don't want certain people seeing, your probably shouldn't put it there at all.
  20. http://www.thatvideosite.com/video/teacher_freaks_out_when_she_sees_her_birthday_present Made my jaw drop in shock more than awe.... I want a doritos tablet: http://www.thatvideosite.com/video/the_versatile_doritos_tablet Happy birthday Ted
  21. When I lost my 200 hour Tales of symphonia save something in me died. I've never been the same since. And the game isn't as loved and cherished anymore.
  22. Well to tell the truth Publishers don't make any money on Pre owned games sales so I guess this is their way of weedling into that market. I always used to see in the days of working in blockbuster that preowned games would be around £10 cheaper than brand new. Blockbuster got to keep all the revenue from that sale. That is why many retailers have taken to the preowned games market. HMV not too long ago and even Argos is considering this business model. But hey if anyone wants to take dafts advice and join love film give me a pm I've got vouchers lying around all over the place.

  24. At any rate I would consider the 3gs as it is future proof in terms of OS updates
