Welcome to the club cap. It will be an exciting month for android too with google's I/O event which will highlight some additions to the android platform.

Yeah I was going to post that news earlier, but then became to lazy to copy and paste. Only the US so far. On a global scale I'm not too sure of the numbers. Then there is the multiple many carriers, manufacturers and models argument. But I think lots of people are warming up to android, and there have been some seriously show stopping devices.

Ok I was stumbling and saw this one. Made me chuckle. It probably shouldn't. Too much star bits

I would pay to use my Wii username? (Can't remember what it's called haven't used it for awhile) instead of a 16 character friend code every damn time.

Anyone whose been sitting on the fence over a htc desire, sucks to be you. T-mobile who were offering the best tariff have just increased their prices again. Cheapest deal is now £380 for the handset on a £25 a month contract. sometimes early adopters don't get burnt Posted from my HTC desire

The HTC desire comes with the HTC music application. Thw default android one is no where to be seen. But if that still isn't enough for you there are plenty of great third party solutions in the market place like mortplayer and tunewiki

Basically allowing you to store applications on the external memory card. At the moment its on internal memory only and this is only available by rooting your device.( kind of like jailbreaking but instead of being in jail your more like being under house arrest.)

The internal memory is standard Android affair of 512MB which is for the OS and application storage. The main uses for the micro SD is data and media storage and also data backup. Many developers take advantage of external storage to reduce the reliance on the internal memory. It is believed that as android evolves the external storage capability will play a much bigger part in terms of extensibility. As for playlists you can create them on the fly but it's another feature I don't use as I'm more of a shuffle person Posted on my HTC desire

I would ebay the N900, as for music on the desire it has a fair music player. Video is strangely accessed through the photo area of the device. Music play back through the speaker is a bit meh. Basically you won't be combating any punk ass kids on the bus with music blaring out their ghetto blaster phones. But that being said the audio quality is good and has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack so plug in whatever you need and it will work fine. You may want to find a good sized micro SD card as I only got a 4GB from T-mobile which I upgraded to 8GB and currently have 5 full feature length movies and several music albums with just under 4GB free. As for syncing music I personally prefer to drag and drop but the phone connects to the computer and is recognised as a htc phone, and can be synced with any music program with sync capability. Lots of people who have a desire like to use double twist, as it's itunes for the non conformist. Yeah pretty much the extra ram is just a performance buffer for the sense UI. The optical trackpad works well for scrolling. Not so well as a game input interface.

Well you see I was on this level where you have to break these robot type things, and there was one left on top of this tall structure that I couldn't get to. I was young and had no older brother to get that last one for me.
-
If I knew then what I knew now, things would be different. That being said I gave it away to my older brother in 05 and he gave it away soon after as he wasn't using the Xbox either. It was the only game I played, it was the special edition where it was bundled with some sega racing that wasn't very good. My only regret really is that I never finished it.

Not saying the N900 is a bad handset. But the HTC Desire is currently the best handset on the market. Not to say it doesn't have some faults which I'd say have been addressed in the release of the incredible. For example the touch screen controller only officially supports 2 points of contact, which can be addressed with software. And also the phone would have been better with dual speakers. Mainly these are nit pickings. Overall the desire is top notch.

One of the reasons that I actually got the 360 was because I thought that JSR was one of their download on demand games. That game was my only regret about giving away my original xbox all those years ago.

I've tried a few flash games on my desire and they work well enough. Best thing about flash on android is in the words of Steve Balmer: "DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS." But also youtube is becoming quite crap and the hammer is coming down on a lot of classics meme's a jokes such as all the downfall vids being taken down. But the ability to watch any flash based video from my phone is a nice prospect. I'm personally waiting for the ability to watch tv catchup and stumble video. Also the prospect of hulu has got people in the US quite happy. As for a flash on the phone camera, I won't go there but I there is one on my ancient D600

So far I've found the passing a bit meh really. Its an ok level but it sort of feels like the final part of dead center with the underground section extended from the parish level. I think the only highlight for me has been getting attached by multiple tanks at once. Even so, I'd say there is enough content there to merit a purchase.

Micro sim is just a regular sim card with some of the card cut back. Pair of scissors will do the job for you. Also anyone who needs/ is looking for mobile phone insurance check out what account upgrades your bank does. I get Mobile phone & travel insurance, card protection and breakdown cover for £7.50 a month. So see what deals will be available to you before you shell out for a handset alone.

Had the same song start playing in my head when I saw this post. And now I can't get it out. Hopefully this controls a little better. Although I'd say the 360 controller fails when it comes to beat 'em ups

Ash next time they call say you'll take the offer there and then if they offer you a free desire instead. And welcome to the club CF you will not regret it

That does sound like a good deal Cap. The only network you should stay away from with the desire is Orange. Phone gets filled with crapware and custom skins, and also some apps are removed and hidden from the market place. I haven't really been able to find any comparable deals, as the prices have sky rocketed since the desire has gone up in popularity. ( I don't even know how considering no advertising) But word of mouth is making this a wanted ( was going to say desirable) phone. Also although not natively on the phone you can hack on google maps turn by turn navigation, which got me to my meeting in London this morning. And also voice search which works pretty well. I would say go for it in case the deal vanishes.

LOL @ SONIC STAGE????? I think they've discontinued that. I don't know how you manage to put up with that DuD. If you want an itunes like experience try double twist: http://www.doubletwist.com/dt/Home/Index.dt If you just need a decent everyday media player there is: Song bird: http://www.getsongbird.com/ (lovely UI) I hear people always talking about foobar2000: http://www.foobar2000.org/ And you can always rely on good old winamp: http://www.winamp.com/ All of which have had an overhaul since I last looked so check em out.

I think It's down to the overwhelming demand. They have had stock issues for the past 2/3 weeks. If you still want one try looking on hotukdeals (search HTC desire) or try mobilephonesdirect.co.uk Also try giving them a call you may get a web beater deal. I must admit under the previous tariffs some deals were below the handset cost.

Just saw episode 15. Cliff hangers and turns galore. This is currently the only tv drama I'm still watching. Lost is dumb, never got into heroes. And Prison break stopped making sense once they got out of prison. I think the long term hiatus knocked it off some people's radar, but I think it's worth catching up on.

I'm an annoying pain in the arse who just uses you people!

It doesn't surprise me that this sort of attitude toward engagement has trickled down to their county police forces. Americans have always been trigger happy. They invented "friendly fire" after all, even firing and blowing us up to oblivion. If only life came with a big X and disabled the trigger then perhaps we wouldn't have situations like this where some sadist guns down a few bystanders. Can't say I like the idea of a country like America being the world's super power. And that is a statement I don't think is debatable.
