Pretty average to be honest. You'd think it would be more exciting with all the new hardware being shown. I believe Nintendo edged it with the win but barely then Sony then microsoft.......I still think Kinect was overused.

Nintendo were a hardcore gaming company longer than any other.... Somehow During the wii's time a hardcore player became someone who played COD or GTA.. In my time, a hardcore gamer was someone who bought magazines, researched up their games and played games nobody else was playing because they LOVED gaming and was willing to go that EXTRA mile to find the best content! Imagine this in the movie world... Am I a hardcore movie-buff because I went to see X-men first class or avatar..... FUCK NO! I still think The 360 and PS3 player calling a super mario galaxy 2 player "casual" is downright appalling. / rant To answer your point though, I'm not sure if nintendo can recapture the "hardcore" market.

Exactly! That movie was banned and is now almost considered a piece of art almost.

Your Top 3 Nintendo Highlights From E3 2011?
mcj metroid replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I could be smart but I'll TRYYY be excited for this.. 1: Actual worthwhile 3DS titles such as paper mario 3ds, Super mario 3ds and Luigi's mansion.... and I feel really shallow considering they're ALL from the mario universe 2: Skyward sword looks lovely and it's NOT getting the attention it deserves I feel. I've felt this last year too actually. I always found it sad that a REMAKE of a classic zelda game garnished more attention. Ok you could argue people were excited about a new handheld at the time but whatever. 3: ( and I'm pushing it): It was nice to see Nintendo finally getting some third party support, even if it might be a tad bit late and even if they're all ports except Killer freaks. I gotta be honest Nintendo didn't do much for me this time. I'm finding it difficult to be excited for much of their titles this time round. Maybe I'll hear more and get more excited. For now this e3 kinda disappointed me -
Ah I see. I didn't think ye'd have changed it around sorry I just looked at the Pic. Thread mixup doesn't matter, wasn't happy with my effort anyway.

there is absolutely a future for motionplus! I believe the wii-motes will still be in FULL use when the Wii-U comes out. Why ignore all the customers that bought it.. Also by the time the Wii-U comes out. The regular wii-motes probably won't even be sold anymore.

I have awful commitment issues with movies. I feel like unless i'm with somebody I rewatch stuff I have seen already. Anyone else feel like this ?

I'd believe this had she not released "run the world" which I feel is a shameless cash and rehash of... Independant woman, If i were a boy, Single ladies and a few others. We GET it women empowerment, get over it! it's almost like a cheap pop at this point. But otherwise It's a harmless ballad album it sounds.

F-Zero WX... what 'you' want so see in the next F-Zero.
mcj metroid replied to S.C.G's topic in Nintendo Gaming
This is tough for me personally because GX was a PERFECT game for everything I like. I LOVE tough games so I wouldn't change a thing.. Few things though 1: Big one is ON-LINE play. 2: Better design on the cars. 3: 4 player split screen. I don't give a shit if it's 30 player on-line. 4: Basic weapons.. Let's face it spinning on the spot looks weird... I did enjoy the side smashing attack though. SOOO satifying. 5: PLEASE let Amusement vision do it. Nintendo in-house would fuck it up. If miyamoto knocks on the door LOCK IT! -
I suppose for the 3DS, the stick would make it more awkward for it to close like a clam? For this system, I don't get it though..
-
This is the first game to convince me to buy a 3ds. Of course paper mario is up there too. If they had announced a metroid, fire emblem, f-zero or an advance wars I'd be in the store right now.
-
I agree. We might as well except what this game is going to be. Super mario bros in 3D.. literally.. There is going to be No exploring in this one and a time limit adds extra challenge.
-
Imports I suppose? That and it would promote the first movie's sales in the UK. I can guess that Ireland will follow suit with this because we're idiots.
-
For a 3d mario it's unusual though. It was only done in super mario 64 ds, but that was only due to the lack of an analogue stick.. The 3ds has that.

The feather creates cheating shortcuts though. I've noticed that ever since the DS mario kart, nintendo has been trying to get rid of anything that could resemble a shortcut. I mean REAL shortcuts like the koopa beach ramp in n64. It kind of alienates new players. I kinda agree in a way though. So I say NO to the feather and shortcuts in general. For me I agree. I am a person who takes gaming seriously. When I lose, I want it to be fair otherwise I'll get frustrated. I think Mario kart is a party racer but that doesn't mean it has to be unfair. The lightning bolt I don't have a problem with. It seems more fair.. My requests for mario kart: 1: The ability to turn on and off items. For the wii version I enjoyed the "basic","itermediate" and "frantic" items settings. My friends and I always chose basic. Best weapon you could get was the red shell. If Smash bros can do it, I see NO reason why mario kart shouldn't. 2: A decent single player. I argued this before, although if there is a PROPER on-line I could forgive this. I'm talking about a story mode... Something like what F-zero gx had or Diddy kong racing or Crash team racing. Mission mode was a start on mario kart DS. I'll be damned if I have to do a 50CC in super slow speeds JUST to unlock more tracks and cars. 3: I'll consider this a long-term goal, but a track editor wouldn't kill them. They ability to share your tracks would be amazing too. 4: A WAYYYYY better battle mode. The best I've ever played was the SNES version. It's actually been going downhill since. 5: If retro is doing the tracks then Samus Aran as a playable character :D

I love super mario galaxy 2, because it was a purely hardcore title. I know new super mario bros wii sold a lot better due to it's simplicity but I'm not sure I like the idea of the 2 types of mario platforming merged. I for one STILL loved the exploring of super mario 64 and super mario sunshine

Either way censorship is extremely pointless. It's basic human instinct to want what you can't have. I'll bet even a lot of people on this forum will actually go see it now even if you hadn't heard of the film before. It's free advertising for the movie really.
-
I certainly hope so. I know mario's graphics HAVE to be simple but they could at least look as good as ps1 2d games.
-
Are they going at least FIX that trainwreck of a multiplayer!? By the way this looks embarassingly similiar to New super mario bros wii... The music still has that fucking "wah" noise thrown everywhere.. In fact it's a song taking from another game..
-
Good job. This has gained it more media attention and more people than ever are going to see it. The first film is child's play compared to movies like A serbian film.

Nintendo's Conference - Tuesday 7th 5pm/6pm
mcj metroid replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
my thoughts: I thought the 3ds was disappointing. It showed pretty much exactly what I expected and I'm not sure it was enough to beat out the Vita. Mario 3ds did NOT blow me away... For some reason the third party games are exciting me more.. The wii U... I need to hear more but the partnership with EA and the third party support is grreat news. Overall... I'm not sure how to feel.
