  1. I wouldn't envy them too much. I saw the videos of the interactive comic to summarize the events of the first game. That's some boring shit.
  2. The modern warfares are the only CoD's I own. Regarding the single player, I loved them both, although I did think the story was getting a bit too fantastical in the second. Never experienced the multiplayer of the first in its golden days, but wasted a lot of time on the second one. The 3rd will be a must-buy, even if it's just to see the conclusion of the story (for some reason I'm thinking it's a trilogy), but I hope the multiplayer will bring me as much joy as the second one has. I've skipped Black Ops, so by the time this will get released, I may need to have my CoD fix again. The fact they bring in 2 other studios to finish it is a little worrying, but to be expected. And I have s soft spot for Ravensoft, so I'm not going to automatically write this one of yet.
  3. I think that's just flavour?
  4. Haha, then all you need is Crysis and Crysis 2 . I have no idea how your card will perform. Even my computer can't handle it at max. Although I should try it out probably, just for fun . But to be honest, I can't really think of any PC exclusives that haven't already been mentioned. From the ones I mentioned, Crysis, but that's already on your wishlist, The witcher, hmm the guildwars games, oh and I forgot Star Craft, but that's also already on your wishlist too.
  5. Perhaps someone should open up a thread. Not me, I'm not the expert. Daft: what kinf of games do you play / want? Apart from the FPS games I see? If you want to get some multiplayer FPS, perhaps you should consider recent hits as CoD: Black Ops, Medal of honour, or Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Or the 2 CoD: Modern warfares if you haven't gotten into those yet. For strategy, I'm a C&C man myself, but Supreme Commander is good too. And I personally have Sins of a solar empire and Civ 5 on my wishlist too. RPG: The witcher and Dragon age. Mass Effect if you haven't played it on X-Box. If you want to go MMO, I have Guild Wars on my wishlist. Games I'm personally looking forward too: Deus Ex 3, The witcher 2, Mass Effect 3, Crysis 2, Homefront, Portal 2, Guild Wars 2, and the Secret World.. Wait, there was another topic about this: http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29465 Although it covers all systems. But now when it's multiplatform, you have a new option . My steam wishlist by the way: http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29465 Although I use it more for reference. If I can get a retail version, I'll get the retail version in the end, and cross it from my list (like I recently did with the Longest journey and Dreamfall, point & click adventures), and it's easy to check if any of those games are on sale (yeah, you just missed the holiday sale, but I'm sure there will be at least a summer sale).
  6. I have nothing to add, unless there's something specific you want to know from me?
  7. I died a little. It's even worse than that time when I heard an acquaintance of mine threw away a Famicom. I knew someone who would've wanted that one.
  8. Nope, that's deliberate entry[/i]. This is when they're both drunk and / or high.
  9. Doesn't sound familiar. It would help if you could remember the system it was on, and if you can give a timeframe.
  10. I'm not really into TF, but since I'm done with MW2 (and have no other "recent" games), I try it from time to time. But eventhough I'm crap at it, I'd like to play against some real players sometime . Let me know what server I can find you people on, and when, and maybe I'll join a game someday. If I do play, my favourite classes are heavy, medic, and engineer.
  11. The first one: yes. Most will tell you you can skip the 2nd one. I haven't finished it yet, playing half-life at the moment, but I was near the end. It's absolutely not as good as the first, for various reasons, however, I could still stick with it for the story. But the first one is one of my favourite games of all time. What part of it have you played up untill now? Do you know if there's anything specific why you're not getting into it (story, openness, controls etc)?
  12. More stuff from that guy / company: http://vimeo.com/nuformer/videos
  13. Unfortunately it's fake (it says so in its description..)! This is the (less impressive) real version:
  14. He's not allowed to thank .
  15. Lazy. But 3 out of the 4 paragraphs have already been explained. That leaves just the handsome man, who targeteded himself, and someone else, who knows something about him.
  16. No wait, the love thing. We can bring him back probably. Do we want to bring him back? I really don't know anymore. But I'm guessing we do. love: mr-paul
  17. Didn't get any offers, sorry Paj.
  18. The way I see it, the mafia went 2 nights without a (succesful?) kill, at this point we can afford to have another no lynch as well, unless you people really need to act upon intuition / suspicion alone.
  19. There's no evidence of a vigilante. His power would be totally useless if there isn't one.
  20. That will go over when it arrives .
  21. Yup, I can speak normally, but I don't have anything to add at the moment. I find it weird though, that there hasn't been a kill yet. Oh, and officially, I'm not allowed to translate new gibberish for you (I may only react to it), however, you seem to do fine without me.
  22. Post pictures of the work in process! They get me to drool almost as much as pictures of hot models :p.
  23. PCI-e is a newer standard, and potentially faster, but for your networkcard, it won't matter (I think). It's mostly a matter of what spare slots you have. Since newer stuff makes use of the PCI-e slots, it's usually the PCI slot which doesn't get used. So it is a perfect match for things like network cards. You could also have bought a wifi dongle, in that case you would use up a USB port instead of your PCI-e slot. I don't have experience with the HannsG brand, but I hear they're good. I'd personally go for the Samsung though, I know they're good. I have a XL2370 myself, which I'm pretty happy about.
  24. The difference on motherboards is purely in features. For every CPU, there is a reference design, so all motherboards have a certain standard functionality. But on top of that, they can load extra features, such as extra USB connections, onboard sound / LAN, extra SATA connections, legacy support (I don't consider that a feature however), and all sorts of extras to cater to overclocking. If you don't go overboard (you aren't, with just the 1 videocard and 1 HD to connect), then you almost don't have to think about it. If you are going overboard, then you'll have to make sure everything's compatible and physically fits. If you really want to know the difference between motherboards, you'd have to give specific examples . As for shops, I can't advise on that, I only have experience with Dutch shops (obviously). But in general, there are several ways of doing things. If you like to build your own computer, and you order seperate components, than you could use a (UK) pricewatch site to painstakingly calculate prices for various combinations of products ordered from a number of shops, factoring in shipping costs. There's a Dutch site which is awesome at this, which keeps track of the prices of several shops, and factors in the shipping costs for you, but I don't know of a UK equivalent. However, I didn't want to get my stuff in too many packages, so I just went with the 2 shops which seemed reliable too me, and together were cheap enough. The other way is to simply buy a complete computer. You could just go to a shop and buy a desktop, like a Dell or Acer or whatever, and they're fine. Or you can go to a specialist, who sells components, but they often also offer to build the computer for you, for a little extra. This is what you seem to be planning now. The advantage is, none of the hassle, and all of the support, just like you would buy a Del, and you still get to select each individual componentl. You're missing out on all the fun stuff though .
