Apparently this didn't have a thread yet. I'll probably get it next month, but I'd love to hear impressions from people who get it day 1. I just found out the Japanese physical retail copies actually contain the English text as well, so if I'm going for it, I think I'll import it.

This already has plenty of stuff that people would consider spoilers.. It would make more sense to do the opposite.

Some independant game awards sale whatever @ Steam. I finally decided to get myself some: Hyper Light Drifter Inside One night stand I was eying Event[0] and Virginia, but decided to leave it at that. I have no idea why I bought them, with Zelda around the corner though. Guess I won't be bored the next few hours. Played a bit of Hyper Light Drifter, liking it in general. I have some minor issues, but it's pretty good overall. I hear things about the Switch pro controller working on PC, maybe I'll try to get a bluetooth receiver to try it out, see how it compares to my XBox one elite controller.

I like it, especially because Ellie Kemper is adorable. But I only make the effort to watch a few shows, and comedies aren't a priority. I occasionally watch when my brother's watching.

So.. I mentioned the shop where I ordered my Switch wasn't able to deliver tomorrow, even though I ordered over a month ago. I don't think I mentioned exactly what my impromptu backup plan was.. Which was "reserving" a Switch at my local brick & mortar retailer. It's a small shop, but it's serving a medium-sized town (by Dutch standards), and currently, I believe it's the only toy shop in town actually. Anyway.. I called this evening to inquire about their stock and my reservation.. And it seems there's literally a Switch with my name on it! Who knew the dumbest way to try to get a Switch on launchday would actually secure me one, as opposed to pre-ordering in January at a shop who has already taken my money yeah fuck you Media Markt. Hell yeah motherfuckers! I'll be playing Zelda tomorrow! FRIDAY = ZELDAY!! cringe @markderoos looks like your kind offer won't be necessary! [v] Grey Switch console - at the store. Not interested in all of them, but I'm definitely getting some of them. My favourite was Flipping Death. Others from the top of my head are Steamworld dig 2 (htough I wonder if I need to play the first), Danbara, ehh that Blaster game, and maybe the fantasy Advance Wars.

Oscars. I generally don't care for them, but my brother was watching, plus I entered a prediction contest. Caught a bit of the beginning, checked the rest afterwards. Janelle Monáe's dress. Just wow. I'm glad Emma Stone won.. I'm in love with her, and she's great. I was almost in tears during her rant in Birdman, and she was awesome in La La land's audition scene. Those facial expressions.. I could watch a whole film that's just a close-up of her face. I guess I'm just into crack whores. Glad that Zootopia won, that was a nice suprise! I predicted Moana. My personal favourite was Ma vie de courgette, but I knew that wasn't going to win. Zootopia would be my personal 2nd choice, but I felt it too "edgy" for the Oscars, so I went with Moana for my prediction. The animated feature catagory is (so far) the only catagory where I've seen all films, and they're actually all great, though some more than others. And how about La la land Moonlight winning the best film huh? I can't remember all my predictions, but I have at least 4 correct. I predicted best film, best director, best supporting actress, and best actress correctly. Was hoping Viggo Mortensen would win best actor though, Captain Fantastic is a great film, which I don't think many people have seen.

Like I've already posted in the Switch thread: I've pre-ordered: - Grey Switch - Zelda - Pro controller - Pouch But like I've also already posted, I got the e-mail that they actually won't be able to deliver on the 3rd. At this point, I'm only guaranteed to get the pro controller on the 3rd, which won't do me any good. The pouch is imported so I wasn't getting it on the 3rd anyway, though I won't be needing it soon. The fucking annoying thing is that I only got the notifications a few days after another Dutch retailer opened up pre-orders. If I had known earlier I could've easily secured a Switch somewhere else. Anyway, my backup plan is to check a local toys retailer. It's a small store, which may be a good thing (I'm the 3rd person to have a reservation there), or it may be a bad thing (they may not even get 3 consoles that day). If that fails, I'll check a few other stores in Rotterdam to see if they have any stock left for sale. Luckily I'm able to check stores when they open Friday. And I'll be making some calls thursday. If all fails, I'll keep the pre-order I had, and hopefully won't have to wait for too long. The Switch + Zelda bundle cost me € 380,-, which is only a marginal discount, but I most likely won't find it for that price again the coming months. But I'd rather pay the regular retail price if it means getting it day 1 (I'm not paying more than suggested retail price though, I have my principles). It's incredibly annoying, I was hoping to just be guaranteed to get a package conveniently delivered to my home on launchday, and play on day 1. Never bought any consoles at launch before, and there's only one launchday, so if I miss it, I'll be waiting for another 5 years. Anyway, apart from the pre-orders, I've decided to make Snipperclips a day 1 digital purchase (whenever day 1 is for me). I wanted to get Shovel Knight day 1 as well, but until now I was under the impression it would get a physical release. Now I'm aware it doesn't (right away at least), I'm not sure if I'll download it day 1 or wait for any news of a physical release. I also want I am Setsuna, but I'm probably going to wait until I finished Zelda, plus I also may wait for any confirmation on whether the Japanese physical release supports English subitles or not. If it does, I'll most likely import it.

Yeah. It's a bit strange that despite the slick user interface, they haven't built in a way to create an account in the settings. You'd also think it'd be easy enough to implement for the day 1 patch. Anyway, most of us will already have an account before day 1.

The pro controller comes with an USB cable (but not an adapter). You don't need an adapter, except for the convenience of charging your Switch (or accessory) away from the dock (and can't be arsed to unplug the adapter from the dock).

Yeah. If you see me mentioning getting a game that's not on a Nintendo console, assume I'm getting it on PC. Me and Deathjam and a friend of his played a lot of ME3 multiplayer back in the day. Would be cool to get a 4 player party! Though I'm not sure if I'll use a mic. I don't have a headset, and you'll just hear my computer fans .

I always try to go for the cheapest physical release. That'd be 50 euros actually. Tempting.. But so many other stuff I want. It's going to achieve it's goal regardless, so if I don't pledge, I look forward to get it on Steam (..or Switch?) when it's released.

Forgot to post it. Definitely looks cool. May back it, but I want some other stuff as well, together with the Switch stuff, and Mass Effect.. Not sure if I can squeenze another 50 dollars in there, but I'll see.
