  1. Ah, the first people to play Mario are posting.. That's my cue to stop visiting this thread for a while. On another note, I forgot it releases on the same day as Stranger things season 2 (at least officially). Guess I won't be watching Stranger things then.
  2. Looks ok.. It's basically Animal Crossing light, but with micro transactions. Instead of an house and a town, you have a camper and a campsite. Animals and people on your friendlist can visit you. You can collect stuff, build and buy furniture, buy clothes.. The microtransactions aren't necessary as far as I can tell, they're there for those who are too impatient to play Animal Crossing. Anyway, it's of no use to me, but it does get me craving for an actual Animal Crossing game.
  3. Yup. The few games I'm interested in, I've already bought, with the exception of Axiom verge which I still need to order the physical version for. I only have Bulb boy and Thimbleweed park left on my wishlist. I don't actually think Bulb boy needs to be on that wishlist, and Thimbleweed park.. Well I might get it, but I'm still more likely to get it on PC later. Those who don't have Axiom Verge and prefer digital, I urge you to get it though. From all the metroidvanias I've played which are available on Switch, it's the best one.
  4. I'll get it today, but not sure when I start playing it. I'll try to get a few hours in, but I have other plans as well.
  5. It's funny, because I also just finished it, the day before yesterday. I didn't save, so I don't consider it to be "official", but I had enough of finding Koroks for that day, and wanted to see the last few morsels of story I had left in the game. I've actually managed to avoid seeing images of Ganon so far, so it was genuinely a fresh experience in that regard. That said, the ending (boss and cutscene) was a bit of an disappointment. For two reasons: it's a weak boss and ending in general, but also because of the nature of the game. After 250 hours of fighting Lynels, Guardians, and 4 bosses, the final boss is a joke, there's really no challenge, and defeating the 4 bosses before it punishes you by stripping away half the fight (although if it's not going to be a challenge anyway, I guess it can be considered an advantage). It took so long for me because I simply took (another) break from Zelda after my previous elaborate post. I still love the game, but it's nature is both a good and a bad thing. It's good in general, but there are almost no high points in the game, it all levels out, and there's barely a climax to speak of. It's weird that the game invited me to draw things out to the extreme, I feel the need to get at the very least all 120 shrines and memories, and all the gear, before "finishing" the game. Obviously no other Zelda game has done this.. When I've beaten the final dungeon, I go to Ganon, regardless of how many hearts I had. It's why I took some breaks between sessions, because I like finding Koroks, but it also gets a bit tiring after a while because you're missing said high points. Having beaten all main dungeons, and having done most sidequests and shrines, this leaves little variation left for me to experience in the game. Normally this would be the cue to just finish things up, which I have done "unofficially" I guess, but again, there something in the game that invites me to draw things out until I've gotten everything. The fact remains I've put 250 hours in the game, which is much more than I have put in any other Zelda game. That said, I'll wrap things up soon, with Mario coming out, and the dlc as well.. I need 1 more shrine, a couple of sidequests, the sword trials, and plenty of gear and their upgrades. I think that's the one I'm just going to leave it for what it is. I know I have the materials to max almost everything, after casually collecting it after 250 hours, except for the more exotic things, like the dragon stuff. I'll leave that for post-game I guess.. It's not like I need a level 4 barbarian or ancient armour outfit. Anyway, the solution to this is simple. More (actual) dungeons. More bosses. More puzzles. More cutscenes, for main quests, sidequests, and random events (like what you get in the Bethesda rpgs). Breath of the wild has all of these things, but it simply needs more of all of them. This is why I don't agree with everyone who wants a faster Zelda development cycle.. These things take time. With the experience they have with open worlds now, this should hopefully allow more time to fill such a world with even more stuff they have now (which still is a commendable achievement of course). I just want it all, the open world, and the dungeons, and I'll easily wait 5 more years to get it. In fact, I honestly think it should be a launch game for the next Switch. In the meantime, I wouldn't mind having a smaller team continue to make dlc for Breath of the wild.
  6. I am genuinely surprised. .. that it took so long.
  7. Why? Anyway, I never directly interacted with Neogaf so this is all to me.
  8. Shows how much I actually use stasis. I thought the window was much smaller than that, and that the timer didn't stop during conversations.
  9. I'd really love to know how the first one was set up.
  10. I'd like to elaborate later, but: Count Lucanor is enjoyable, but incredibly short. I think I finished it in 3 hours.
  11. It may be compression. Try uploading the original files to youtube, or even leave them as is. I heard the original files are "ok", though I haven't checked myself yet.
  12. I never "experienced" HD Rumble, or at least that I know of. Everything felt like normal rumble to me. Of course, I'll never play 1-2 Switch, which still seems to have best example of this elusive HD rumble. That said, I also mostly use the pro controller. I'll have a quick look in the Octopath demo now DCubed mentions it, using the joy-cons.
  13. I had some other plans, but I'm too tired to go out. But I can't make a good Mii in 10 minutes it seems. Was going for new Viv like Nekunando, but can't find suitable hair. Oh well. have fun, don't forget to make videos!
  14. In my defense, Galaxy 2 was released some time after I lost my (proper) job. Didn't really have the money for games, it's the same reason why I don't a WiiU, a 3DS, or the first Xenoblade Chronicles and whole shitload of other Wii(U) and (3)DS games. Wasn't great for my backlog.
  15. That update came out of nowhere. I was playing a game, went to the menu to check the time, then saw the news for the update. Nice surprise though! Excellent business move as well. You can bet Super Mario Odyssey will have this feature right out of the box. Twitter will have plenty of videos before the holidays start.
  16. Oh dear. I haven't played Galaxy 2 (yet) as well.. <hides>
  17. Was that a Kickstarter? I'm pretty sure I've seen the game somewehere before. Looks gorgeous indeed.
  18. I said I'd buy anything from IntiCreates.. So I've got to.
  19. So Beau Séjour was actually really terrible. It was also Dutch spoken, not French, I don't know why I was under the impression it was. However, I've been really enjoying Mindhunter.
  20. And of course, my first, and most likely only victory, is in something as ridiculous as itemless coin runners..
  21. I intended to get this this week, next to Wulverblade and Flame in the flood, but got second thoughts. Glad I held off now, as you confirm my suspicion. I intend to buy a couple more e-shop games before Mario arrives, and while all those games do something distinctly different than Mario or Zelda, I thought this one, despite how charming it looks, is just going to feel disappointing compared to those games. Edit: About the framerate, is the game using Unity? Just curious. I felt like I was robbing them when I got those free characters, even though I haven't used them yet (and may not even use them in Blaster Master 0's case). Clearly some effort went into them, new sprites, new abilities, and they need to test for balance and adjust accordingly. I bought that dlc as soon as they were up with no regrets. Just for support. I agree with Hero on this one. If you like the NES Megaman games, this is a must-buy. No demo needed. Edit: Just to add some quick comments on Wulverblade and Flame in the floods: I have an issue with Wulverblade where certain button combinations trigger the menu for some reason.. Plus, like usual, I'm not fond of Flast style animation. But I obviously already made peace with that as I bought the game. Other than that: the game is fantastic. Fluid combat, gorgeous artstyle, some cool voice acting, and there's even an educational side to it! Oh hey, and even achievements for those who want them. I love games where it's clear a lot of passion went into it, this is one of those games. Flame in the flood is good to. Port seems fine, unlike some other indie ports, I have not encountered any framerate issues so far. The game has been fun so far as well. I like the style, and even though I do not care for country music at all, I can appreciate certain music styles within the right context, and it fits perfectly here. The game has a cool atmosphere.
  22. This was the game that taught me (pure) 3rd person shooters aren't for me. I hated the game, so I can only assume I didn't get really far in it. I remember almost nothing about it, but I'm confident I borrowed it from someone back in the day.. The only thing I distinctly recall is constantly walking in first person mode, for which you had to hold a button, which I didn't really like obviously.
  23. Salmon run at 10? (I'm pretty sure Salmon run is on tonight, but I'll check after Mario Kart)
  24. I'll be there. As always, I have no idea if I have that bike / those tires, if not, I'll just use a bike. Oh and seriously, change the name of Koopa City on the image..
