Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing
RedShell replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Very nice. Yeah, I think it takes a couple of weeks to unlock, not 100% sure though. For now I’ve done just one little “path” in the old fashioned way of using custom patterns, to go from the island entrance to my house. It didn’t take long as it’s pretty much right next to it. Also cut down the majority of trees and planted a row of non fruit ones along the south edge of my map, just to streamline daily resource farming and make it easier to find fossils etc. It’ll also help with terraforming when I finally get hold of it. -
Don’t sleep on Shinsekai, people! I played through it on Apple Arcade last year and it is a great game, highly recommended. Loving that Ring Fit Adventure update. I started playing it again recently, so this new content is arriving at the perfect time. 51 Worldwide Games looks rad too.

That’s the only place I can use them at the moment, but I’m sure I remember seeing something about it eventually being possible to scan amiibo and have specific characters move to your island.
-
Nice. Mine is closed for that upgrade today. Any new amiibo features available to you now?

Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing

Yeah, this evening. Was great! Got my 3rd loan paid off thanks to it. -
Well, my hype for this game took quite the nosedive in light of the coronavirus situation, New Horizons really did get released at simultaneously the best and worst time possible. But yeah, I’ve been playing it since launch day and it’s certainly been helping to take my mind off everything that’s currently going on. The game is absolutely gorgeous, and so relaxing. I love pretty much all of the new features and additions in this version, although I’m not so keen on what they’ve done to custom designs, that smoothing effect can be very hit-or-miss. Would’ve preferred it to be optional as it’s good for some stuff, but terrible for others. And as far as I can tell, there’s still no way to easily know which items you’ve already obtained when shopping. All they had to do was add a little icon or change the colour of the text, just something simple like that. Anyway, it’s great to finally be playing this. Can’t wait to unlock the terraforming option.

Cheers for the games everyone, some classic Animal Crossing fights there. But the lag is doing my head in so I’m gonna call it a day. -

That’s some of the worst lag I’ve ever seen playing this game online! Don’t think my animated DJ K.K. stage is helping matters, will stick to my other AC stage. -
Thanks for the games @Glen-i, was great fun.
-
Probably not. Should be able to do 8pm though, if you can make it then.
-
Sorry, wasn’t capturing tonight. Could always get ‘em from MKTV though.
-
That sounds like my kind of competition. Hopefully I can remember to take part this time.

Super Mario Maker 2 challenge - June challenge has started!
RedShell replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well, I defeated the boss twice, and fell down the hole right in front of the goal... twice. I concede defeat. My vote for the March Mario Maker Challenge goes to: Sméagol Your level was absolutely evil, but I just found it incredibly entertaining throughout. Even though I didn’t officially clear it, I saw everything it had to offer, including the boss battle, which was spectacular! That’s one of the best Mario Maker boss battles I’ve ever seen, very clever and super exciting to play! Well done. Anyway, I won’t go into detail on the other levels, a lot of what I’d say has already been said. But thanks to everyone who took part, it was great playing all of the different Spike themed stages. -

@Sméagol, somehow (not sure how ) I’ve made it to the boss on your level. Very cool mechanics on that I must say, but I really cannot see myself surviving long enough to defeat it. Is it the end of the level after that battle, or is that just a miniboss? *EDIT* Oh my God! I just got past it, I could see the goal... You are such a bastard! -

Well I’m reaching the top more consistently now, but oh man... getting into that pipe! I’ve fallen into the pit at least 100 times I reckon. Check out your failure points, they’re probably all me. -

OK, I’ve played ‘em all, but not managed to complete every level. Going to give those ones a few more attempts before I make a final decision. @Dcubed I am really struggling with the vertical platform section at your first checkpoint! The initial few are no problem at all, but once more than one Spike is activating the ON/OFF switches the timing seems bizarre. I think I’m landing on a solid block only for it to disappear right away! Any tips? BTW, thanks for the positive feedback on my level, and for finding Baby Face as usual. The way you did it wasn’t quite the way I intended, the idea was actually to backtrack from the checkpoint: You still needed to die either way though. Yeah, that was a very nice touch indeed. I had to make use of it myself: @Sméagol here are a couple of clips from your level: Not managed to clear it, but I have to say that so far your level has been the most fun for me. It’s just so ridiculously cruel. -

So I think my level is ready to roll, pretty happy with it how it turned out. It was fun just using Mario Maker again really, as I’ve not made anything with it for quite a while. Anyway, are we planning to upload our Spike levels today or tomorrow? -

Yeah, I noticed your character not moving on a couple of occasions, thought you were having controller issues or something. I wasn’t doing so well at times yesterday either. One match in particular (when I got DK on random select) saw me only last around 50 seconds! It was still fun spectating though, especially the matches on my custom stages. I’ll have to try and come up with some new (even more devious) stages before Animal Crossing arrives. -
Probably won't be able to play before the main League tonight, but that's cool, I don't mind waiting. Would be good if we could arrange it for sometime before March 20th though, as I won't be playing anything other than Animal Crossing for... the next year!
-
Not a fan of it myself, but then I really dislike video game adverts that don’t focus on the actual product. I mean that was basically 2 minutes of a Japanese soap opera with a few seconds of Animal Crossing footage thrown in. At least it confirmed that you can still utilise multiple custom patterns as tiles to create larger designs.
-
Until you face a Pokémon with Knock Off, yeah. Hate that move. Anyway, it seems like once again I forgot to actually take part in any competition battles, so no Ball Guy T-Shirt for me. Would be nice if there was some sort of in-game/system reminder if you’ve signed up to a competition.

I’d vote No to all of those, although revisions should definitely be a Yes after the challenge ends. -
I can only speak for Animal Crossing, to which the answer is... A LOT. It’ll take at least a year to “complete” but at the same time it’s probably not something you’re going to be able to play for long sessions without getting bored. I am, but I’m an Animal Crossing nut. Reckon Pokémon is probably your best bet.
