  1. Just restarted my Switch, going to try again...
  2. Everyone might have to actually, as it’s not letting me connect for some reason. You can bring whatever you like for Katt.
  3. Ok, gonna open my island for a bit now. Might not be for too long, but will be able to host again after 8pm. Made a little balloon path for people to easily find Katt’s house.
  4. No problem (I actually really like watering flowers for some reason ) let us know how you get on with hybrids tomorrow! I’ll be sure to visit, what time did you have in mind? Also going to open my island later on as it’s Katt’s birthday today, so if anyone is after Birthday Celebration Nook Miles be sure to pop over! Will post again on here when I’m going online.
  5. Testing that right now. *EDIT* nope.
  6. So it looks as if there's a big flaw to Nintendo's new approach with events via downloadable update in this game, and I don't actually have Leif on my island today as a result. Yeah, I started playing early today (there was no prompt for the update when I started the game) assuming the new content was already installed, but it wasn't so I downloaded it manually, and when I restarted the game it said something about updating my save data to match the latest update. I then received the letter about the interest rate and got the new Nook Miles goals, but Leif is nowhere to be seen. Instead I have stupid C.J. wandering around. Hopefully Leif will show up tomorrow, but this is still a pretty crappy side effect of the new system.
  7. Have you got auto-sleep enabled then? Probably best to disable that in the Switch system settings. Anyway, cheers for keeping your island online today. I sold my turnips and a few other random things, which was great as my shop is currently closed for the upgrade.
  8. I did indeed. First try? One of your levels?! There were plenty of restarts.
  9. Yeah, I know. Spent quite some time trying to come up with ways to make it a bit more challenging, but the fact is, that with constantly spawning Master Swords (which were obviously a requirement to avoid softlocks) it was always going to be on the easier side. Hehehe! I figured that was a good way to encourage replays of the level. Players that haven’t already stumbled on (or have forgotten about) the flagpole will also see that 1 hard block and think there might be something beyond. Not a joke exactly, just wanted it to be a surprise if someone hit the flagpole without realising. And again, a way to perhaps get people to replay the level to check out the other stuff. Speaking of... did you do the bonus room? I was really happy with how that turned out (actually found myself playing it quite a lot as it was so fun doing Link’s downward sword attack on all those Goomba stacks! ) If you collect the hidden invincibility star in there too, it’s a way to get an insane amount of 1-Ups. Hopefully some of the players that might get this stage on an endless run will appreciate that. Anyway, thanks for playing (and replaying) the level and posting your thoughts on here. I had a go on one of your more recent levels the other day, the one with the stack of Munchers where you have to be really quick in order to finish the level in time. Great fun! I think your style of level creation (i.e. on the more difficult side) benefits a lot from being a bit shorter in overall length. When a level is both challenging and long, I think it lessens the incentive to persevere. But when you know the end is in sight so to speak, you want to keep trying just that little bit more. You got any ideas for the new update content? Can’t wait to check that stuff out tomorrow.
  10. Wow! What an amazing update.
  11. Found a Lilly of the valley (which has since been relocated to the secret garden area of my island ) so have now purposely lowered my rating back to 3 stars by removing pretty much everything I had “decorated” the island with in order to reach 5 stars. Yep, all the furniture that had no place being outside, all the fences and other random stuff, all gone. It’s almost like being back on the deserted island! Think I’m going to take this opportunity to do a bit more terraforming before re-decorating again, and this time around I’m going to take it slow and only place stuff that I actually like. Will be interesting to see how long it takes to get back to a 5 star rating, if indeed I do.
  12. Yep, I’ve got K.K. song available to order today in my resident services.
  13. Zelda themed level that I’ve had on the go since that update arrived, yeah... a long time ago. Anyway, I finally finished it:
  14. Fucking finally!: Ironic seeing as my island now looks worse than ever. Completely covered in random shit and (of course) fences! Anyway, gold watering can GET! Tempted to just obtain a few golden roses and Jacob’s ladders, then remove all the junk and drop back down to 4 or even 3 star. Can’t remember if there’s anything else that requires a “perfect” town later on though. Got a feeling it’s needed for finding truffles in the autumn too.
  15. @Sheikah, your island still open? Sent you a friend request.
  16. Wow @Hero-of-Time, your island looks absolutely amazing! Great job. Love the little footy pitch. I’m kinda struggling with mine in this version, still trying to reach 5 stars (have been stuck on 4 for a while now) but just not a fan of the island decoration system. It seems like you have to place so much stuff and bloody fences etc., which is actually pretty annoying. I seem to have so much random crap around my island already, and the worst thing is that I won’t be able to remove stuff afterwards without lowering to 4 star again. Yeah, really hate that. Even more so because they actually already have a solution built in to the game. If you try to buy one of the DIY recipes in the shop a second time, Tommy will mention how you already purchased it. Why the hell couldn’t that bit of dialogue just be used for furniture too?!
  17. No I didn’t: You obviously knew where he was, it was getting there that was the problem, just like I said. Appreciate you finding him though, I’m pretty sure you’re the only person who has a 100% record at this point! A lot. I can pull it off quite consistently now though.
  18. Glad to see I’m not the only one who doesn’t like autoscrolling levels then. Yep, believe it or not that’s actually why I chose it as the theme, to see if anyone’s level could change my mind (they didn’t ). Well, I’ve played the other levels a few times so I can now vote. @darksnowman. First of all, it’s nice to see you posting on here again, hope you’ll stick around. As for your level, well it certainly was entertaining with all of those various effects going on, but that also made it pretty tricky to focus on the actual level due to the distractions. @Sméagol. Once again I had to concede defeat, and right before the goal by the looks of things. But yeah, I like the way you managed to get those puzzle elements to work within such strict timing. One question though, is it actually possible to do the bit after the checkpoint by using both switches? I could only ever do it like this: Anyway, my vote for the April SMM2 challenge goes to Sméagol.
  19. Nice to see some controller features being added. Shame it’s not a way to manually adjust the control stick deadzones though, as surely that could alleviate some of the Joy-Con drifting issues. Hell I’d be fine with setting up my left control stick as a glorified D-Pad if it meant the thing was at least useable again! Also, that was so not cool how they took the piss in the news article for this update: ”if you catch my drift!”
  20. Actually no ( you cheeky git ) I managed to do it a couple of times in testing, but with it being on the completely opposite end of the checkpoint it just didn’t seem fair, so I changed it. You probably would’ve liked it, yeah. That’s a shame. Oh well, hopefully we get more contributors next month. Anyway, I’ve played yours and darksnowman’s levels now, but going to need a few more attempts at your level by the looks of things (surprise surprise ) before I can cast my vote. Good stuff. Don’t forget to keep that Baby Face streak going! He’s easy to find, but potentially difficult to reach this time around.
  21. I agree. Doesn’t change the fact it can still confirm whether a level can be cleared, even if the creator lacks the skill to do it all in one go. I just thought that with a theme based around autoscroll it makes sense to keep things moving as much as possible. Glad you liked it. Anyway looking forward to checking out your levels at some point today, do we really only have 3 entries (including my one) this time?
  22. Oh yeah! To be honest, I don’t think I ever did a complete playthrough on the red route (even on the clear test) but I can absolutely guarantee that I did all of the various sections that make it up, multiple times, so I know the red route is technically possible. If somewhat ridiculously impossible. Anyway, the level I just uploaded is completely linear, so no crazy stuff this time around.
  23. Ok, here’s mine: @Sméagol, I tried to add a bit more challenge to this one because you’re always complaining that my levels are easy. So yeah, if anyone finds it too difficult, you know who to blame.
