  1. For favourite villain I think I'll go with, Uncle Rupee: A conniving and unbelievably greedy character who also happens to look hilarious. Although I'd also quite like to use him for best boss battle too, so I may have already failed on hard mode unless I can come up with something else for that category. BTW, for those not familiar with Uncle Rupee, please enjoy this 12 year old YouTube video presented in glorious 240p quality:
  2. Oh poo, no I didn't. Hang on, can you still do that with Nook Miles stuff?
  3. I’m actually in tears right now. Anyway, have ordered the Godzilla statue for you and @BowserBasher, will post ‘em tomorrow.
  4. Heads-up fellow Villagers, be sure to check out the seasonal section of Nook Shopping as there are some additional items to obtain there. The Summer-solstice crown and Winter-solstice sweater, available until next Monday. And an otherwise exclusive item for Japan, Bamboo grass, available until the 31st.
  5. Local multiplayer for me is undoubtedly Wii Sports. What it managed to achieve in that area is nothing short of miraculous! Literally anyone could play it. A local multiplayer video game revolution.
  6. So for those with the fighters pass, what are your initial thoughts on Min Min? Having played quite a few matches against her now, she seems like a very strong character, but also very technical. The way she can edge guard is particularly interesting, but there’s definitely some vulnerability there too when charging strong attacks, I managed to connect with several Falcon punches in the N-E games yesterday that I don’t think I’d have got away with against other characters. Also, do all of her moves allow you to adjust the arm angle, or only some of them? When I was using Kirby, it didn’t seem possible to bend the arm on the neutral B attack, is that the same for Min Min?
  7. Slightly better conditions on my island: So happy they added this feature back. I also have Gulliver today! And not in pirate form, which is interesting. Perhaps it’s random as to which version shows up. Anyway, I’m glad, as it’s another chance to get a Lucky cat!
  8. Wow! Min Min is tough! The fact she can edge guard from the middle of the stage is pretty damn scary too. Anyway, thanks for the games.
  9. You wouldn’t need to wait until tomorrow as the island rating is constantly being updated, so you can check with Isabelle right away, any time you make changes. As I said earlier on when visiting your island though, I think there’s a good chance you will be on 5 stars (once you clean up) as you have lots of flowers around, and they definitely seem to be one of the most influential factors for a perfect rating. The first time I reached 5 stars I used A LOT of furniture to do so, but now I have very few outdoor decorations and instead have loads of flowers (all over the highest level of my island) keeping the 5 star rating in place. But hang on a second!... I’d completely forgotten about this, but a while back I read about how it’s possible (but also very rare) to get a lily of the valley on your island while still at a 4 star rating. In which case that’s almost certainly what has happened on your island too, Sméagol!
  10. I’m going to go with The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for opening section. Was completely blown away by the atmosphere when I first played it, the rain/lightning, the music, sneaking into the castle... soooo good. That entire segment (up to the Sanctuary) is an absolute master class in how to commence a game.
  11. My earliest video game memory? Well, it was a very long time ago! I know that much. The earliest one I can recall is playing the Commodore 64 version of Bubble Bobble in the late 80’s, and a lot of that memory is no doubt due to this: Certainly not my earliest video game experience (that was probably another C64 game, or something in the arcade) but it’s the earliest one that I can still vividly remember today.
  12. What a jammy git!
  13. Really great fun! Thanks everyone. I was robbed on the best outfit round though. I donated 25k. Shame it doesn’t actually tell you who did and what amount.
  14. Just spent the last 5 mins or so in hysterics at my fancy dress for the party!! Great choice for the theme. It helps that I happen to genuinely love cheesy game shows from the 80’s/90’s.
  15. Me! 8pm is good.
  16. 2 watering cans? Just kidding, it was only 2. He really is quite bonkers.
  17. Fun times visiting @Glen-i’s island just now. Had a good laugh when you thought I was out of watering cans. I’m a reliable gardener.
  18. Yeah, this also happened to me when you and BowserBasher were visiting. Not sure how I didn’t notice him before then.
  19. Marina’s birthday today! I know she’s a resident on quite a few N-E islands, so it would be good if everyone who’s got her could open the gates at some point today for the birthday celebration Nook miles. Gonna open mine for a while now if anyone would like to bring her a prezzie.
  20. Thought my Switch was toast earlier on! Had been playing Animal Crossing (it was in sleep mode inside the dock) went to resume the game and... nothing. Black screen of doom. Took the Switch out of the dock and noticed that it was insanely hot, turns out the vents at the back were quite dusty too. So yeah, gave it and the dock a good clean, let it cool down and then restarted it. It seems to be ok, although I lost a little bit of my “progress” in Animal Crossing. Switch + hot weather + obscured vents = not good. This also might have been responsible for the slow motion final smash malarkey last night. Anyway, have setup a little usb powered fan to help stop my Switch from melting now. Would suggest people check their systems out for dust/overheating!
  21. No fighters pass for me this time around, so guess I’ll just spectate in order to not ruin the shenanigans. Yeah, very strange indeed. Smash Bros. clearly doesn’t like the heat. Also, during the last match I played (on my Rhythm Epilation stage) the rumble motor inside my Gamecube controller would not stop! I took that as a sign it was time to stop playing. Anyway, thanks for the games everyone!
