Been checking out some of the preview footage, don’t think I’m going to be able to delay picking this game up after all.
-
Bloody hell! For those shipping costs I’d expect the items to be personally delivered by Shigeru Miyamoto!
-
I believe limited availability is only referring to the download, so once installed you can play it indefinitely. Hope so, anyway. But yeah, such a great idea for a mash-up, can’t wait to play it!

As some of you might be aware I recently started playing Monster Hunter World (at long last! ) was worried it might be too much MH before Rise and lessen my interest in that game (which to be honest was already a bit low, due to the removal of Prowler) but if anything it has done the complete opposite! I think a blend of the more classic MH style with some (but definitely not all) of the new mechanics from World has potential to end up being very special indeed. So yeah, excited to see more of this. Has there been any more info on the online aspects for Rise, other than the expected return to 4 player hubs and text chat? Really hope they manage to get seamlessly joining quests mid-hunt in there, if not the SOS Flare system too. It’d definitely be very difficult going back to the old way now after experiencing just how incredibly slick online play is in World.

The first N64 game is one of my all-time faves, and indeed bonkers. Hope you’ll get the chance to play it sometime. Would be great if Konami did a Goemon collection (similar to the Castlevania and Contra ones) but it’s probably pretty unlikely at this point due to the requirement of additional localisation and their abandonment of the series in general. -

Great! Going slightly off-topic here, but have you ever played any of the Mystical Ninja games? -

Yay! Still can’t believe that it’s not possible to use replay data with DLC characters that you don’t own though, that is so stupid. -

Oh poo. Was planning on using Bomberman (even made a new custom stage to celebrate his arrival as a “playable character”) man, some of the restrictions in the game are infuriating. -

Super Mario Maker 2 challenge - June challenge has started!
RedShell replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
@Sméagol I played your level. Good stuff. Forgot you could do higher spin jumps with the squirrel suit, so that part with the Pokey and the door above it took me longer to figure out than I’d like to admit. Also, I wasn’t aware you could have 2 different power-ups emerging from the same pipe! Is that just done by merging with the super mushroom but then sticking it inside a pipe instead of an item box? But yeah, very cool, will have to remember that one. Anyway, doesn’t look like there are any other entries to play this month, so you’re getting my vote by default. -

My level: Turns out I'm not very good with the squirrel power-up, so the clear check for this one was an absolute nightmare. -

@Glen-i & @Sprout, you two are sickeningly good at Smash Bros.! I love it. Good luck to you both in the upcoming tournament, think there’s a good chance you could nab some gold points there. BTW, did I actually win a match during our games, or did I dream it? Oh, and what was with the arena title tonight, Glen? -

You mean in New Super Mario Bros. U. -
Better late than never! So far so good. It’s all pretty familiar but there’s also quite a lot of new features/mechanics in there too. It’s great seeing how familiar monsters look with the improved visuals, even the smaller ones get quite the makeover. I’m really loving how the hammer feels in this version too, super satisfying.

I’ve noticed a few oddities in his movement a couple of times, especially when swimming. Although I seem to recall the underwater gameplay was always a bit weird anyway.

This is my biggest issue with it, yeah. It’s got nothing to do with being old and wanting to yell at clouds and everything to do with the fact that Minecraft, no matter how you slice it, simply looks bad! It’s just so unappealing visually that to merge it with something like Smash Bros. Ultimate is incredibly jarring and lowers the tone of the entire game. It’s like listening to a great piece of music, only for it to suddenly become completely out of tune. Or eating a delicious meal that turns mouldy and inedible halfway through. And let’s face it, the only reason this is even happening is because the suits really pushed for it... $$$ I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai and the team hated having to add this to their game. I’m certainly going to hate having to look at these abominations once it’s released. Anyway, I’ve said more than enough on the subject now, so I’ll leave it there.

Yeah, I was quite chuffed with that. My custom Yakuza stage gets me all hyped, that must be what did it. -
Can’t say I’ve experienced that, no. The timer seems to drop quite rapidly towards the end so I don’t see how it’d be possible for games to go on for too long once that point has been reached. Unless of course both remaining players are insanely good, but even so, someone will make a mistake sooner or later. The end game definitely isn’t as intense as Tetris 99 though, that’s for sure.

So good! And thanks for my new avatar Mario Kart Live. But as awesome as this looks I simply don’t have the space for it so will have to pass, looking forward to seeing more gameplay from it online once it’s out though. I bet there are going to be some really cool real world MK tracks built for this, plus people playing it in unusual places. The Switch capture button will probably be disabled for this game, but hopefully there will still be those with external capture setups recording/uploading plenty of footage.

I’ll pop on for a bit. Be nice to play the game before it gets irreversibly impaired by that blocky bastard. -
It bloody does!
-
I think I actually would’ve even preferred another Fire Emblem character to this, in fact I definitely would have preferred that! At least the quality of the game’s presentation wouldn’t be getting massively tarnished in that case. For me this update does nothing but make Smash Bros. Ultimate look bad. Horrible stuff.

Completely forgot about this! I did play them all though, and do remember that my vote was going to @Sméagol. Your level entertained me the most, and your trademark trolls weren’t quite so evil this time. Yeah, it was really rushed so didn’t turn out how I would’ve liked. Needed way more time in the oven.
