I decided to revisit some older PS+ titles recently, ended up playing a couple of games that had technical issues when they were originally released but have since been patched. First up was Broforce. This used to have some weird lag at the start of each level, which has now been fixed. However, the frame rate can still take a big hit, and there are some inexplicably long load times with nothing but a black screen! As for the game itself though, it's pretty good fun. I like how the destructible stages can make for multiple routes and strategies. It's also a lot of fun unlocking and playing as all of the different bros. Unfortunately the game gets a bit too mental, and drags on for far too long in the final stage. Was glad when it was finally over. Then I turned my attention to Grow Home. This game suffered from some horrendous screen tearing when it first came out, but that seems to have been sorted now. The frame rate is still pretty iffy though, especially as the vine increases in height/complexity. Slowdown aside though, the game is really enjoyable once you get used to controlling BUD. I found it to be an incredibly relaxing experience, it's nice just wandering about, collecting crystals, growing the vine and gliding through the sky. Enjoyed it so much that I kept playing until I found all the items and reached 100%! Here's a screenshot I snapped while gliding (gave me SM64 vibes ): Lovely game.

I definitely want to get this at some point, had a blast with the beta version. :awesome: Made an F-Zero style track on it: Like Cookyman says though, great game to have as a digital download, so will probably grab it from the PS store eventually, unless there's a really good deal on the retail version before then.

Oh man, that is something else! So glad I've not dealt with GAME in a long time now. Anyway, here's hoping you don't get Rugby Challenge 3.

If Nintendo charge to play online with the NX, would you pay?
RedShell replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
There would really have to be something else on offer (like the free monthly games you get with PS+) for me to consider paying for online play. Well, I say that now, but in reality all it would probably take is Mario Kart 9. -
Yeah, the novelty has clearly worn off. I'm really surprised that Nintendo didn't include some of the other elements from Tomodachi Life, like the ability to customise rooms, the dream sequences, the little RPG mini-game and most importantly of all, the concert hall feature. That in particular could've done wonders for keeping people interested in Miitomo for longer, as it was such a fun mode on the 3DS game: Combined with the fact that there's basically no censorship on Miitomo, it would've been even more entertaining.

OK, highlight vid is on the way to @Dcubed right now, and here's the theme for Thursday!

Yeah. I've got another theme planned that also has the potential to mix things up, but it'd really work best with a full group of 12, so can we get a show of hands for who's IN! this week? The regular IN! list: The Mole Kounan punio75 Brian58 BowserBasher Bullet Will RedShell Wii If 4 more players sign up, I'll unleash the theme of doom. BTW, the highlight vid from the Waluigi theme night is done. @Glen\-i for suggesting this week's post-highlights moment, and helping me find the MKTV footage for it.

Looking good. Apart from the male protagonist, who looks like a total dork. Will almost certainly be playing as the female lead character this time around.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I was close to getting the last trophy I need yesterday. Finally got the lipstick but it was quite far into a game, and there were no sharks around. Then I got killed and lost the hat.

That was a classic, especially the last GP! Can't wait to do the highlights. Shame we didn't get to do Mirror Yoshi Valley, another time I guess... : peace: Did anyone see me completely fail at the waterfall shortcut on Yoshi Circuit? I dived right into the water expecting the track to be there. Mirror Mode really can mess you up.

A couple of titles to add to my list, first up is Miitomo. Have been hooked on this since it came out. Not really a game as such, but definitely worth checking out for all the humorous answers and Miifotos that people post. Collecting extra Nintendo Platinum Points is the icing on the cake. Also adding Shutshimi: Seriously Swole! Cracking little game, very much my cup of tea. Just one more trophy to get, but it's based on obtaining one of the random items from the shop, so it could take a while. Got the remaining silvers and 1 gold last night though, after many, many attempts.

There isn't all that much to see I don't think. Not reached the final boss yet, but I'm pretty sure it just loops and increases in difficulty after that. It's basically an old-school high score/endurance test. :awesome: You like shoot 'em ups, right? And games with retro visuals (Rogue Legacy, Crypt of the NecroDancer, Enter the Gungeon) plus challenging/permadeath style gameplay (which this definitely features on the harder difficulty setting ). Ah! Now it makes sense.

That's too bad. Surprising though, I would've thought you'd be quite into it, based on other games you seem to enjoy.

Tomorrow's theme!:

Shutshimi has been a very nice surprise for me in this set of PS+ games. Knew literally nothing about it, didn't even think it was available on PS4 as it was listed for Vita, but it ended up being the game I spent most time with yesterday. It's like a cross between Parodius and WarioWare, love it!

Blame MKTV! Speaking of which, unfortunately I wasn't able to get a good shot of the banana moment you mentioned, @nekunando. I really hope they improve on MKTV a lot in MK9. It needs manual camera control!!

Some of the responses on this have had me in stitches! Not having any Miiverse style moderation or censorship is a huge plus for Miitomo. The novelty will probably wear off pretty quickly, but at the moment it's a right laugh.

Not had as much time to mess about with this as I'd have liked (thanks to Miitomo and the MK8 League ) but it seems like a really great improvement on the original Flipnote Studio. BTW, I noticed the online features (or at least the buttons for them) are still present. I thought Nintendo removed that stuff? There's also something about retrieving your original flipnotes by entering your flipnote ID and password from the DSi version. Couldn't test it though, as I don't remember that info.

That was a really fun league night. Cheers for the heads-up on the potential highlight moments everyone. Will definitely try to feature them in the next highlight vid. : peace:

Think I'm gonna have to mute notifications for this. That sneezing Mii sound has made me jump more than a few times today already! Nope. You have to setup a twitter or facebook account for it. But you can pretty much just add 1 person, and then add others via the mutual friend feature of the app itself.

Hahaha! Already managed to crash this by messing around with the options in Miifoto so much! Anyway, it's a fun little app. Really weird having a Nintendo title on mobile though, can't get my head around that just yet.
