  1. I agree. That's why we got what we did for launch and why games are thin on the horizon. This is what happens when you're 6 or 7 years late to the HD party, they're playing catch up big time and struggling. It was left to Monolith Soft to show how it's done and what a beauty it is!
  2. This is the by far the best announcement from the Nintendo Direct.
  3. I predict we'll see: * Bayonetta 2. It's new as we haven't seen any gameplay yet * A racer of some sort, may not be Mario Kart * Resident Evil Revelations * Tiger Woods 14 * Metal Gear Solid * A Namco game, hopefully a Tales game * PES 14 * Wii U Virtual Console including Gamecube * New Gamecube Wavebird controller or USB adapter to enable use of old controller * Kid Icarus Wii U * Pokémon Wii U * A glimpse at what Monolith Soft is working on * A couple of games from Sega * More footage of titles we know: Wii Fit U, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101 etc. I think they'll keep Smash Bros., Mario 3D, Retro Studios title for E3.
  4. I saw this earlier and couldn't stop laughing. What a wet dream that would be. A perfect match made in heaven. Best megaton gif ever!
  5. Review: The Cave - Destructoid All told, The Cave is a morbid, humorous romp filled with life lessons which should be apparent already to all but the total sociopath. While there are some niggling issues with overall polish, it's a fun time for fans of adventure games that should set you to giggling and, hopefully, feeling just a little bit guilty about that glee. THE VERDICT 7.5 /10 Good: A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun. http://www.destructoid.com/review-the-cave-242819.phtml Review: The Cave - Game Informer At least you don’t have to solve solo; The Cave supports up to three players working together on a single TV, but falls short of letting players split up, so you still have to switch back and forth as puzzles demand characters in different locations. Still, that cooperative vibe echoes the way many players first encountered the genre – a group of friends gathered around a screen, laughing at the crazy solutions required to slip past a perplexing blocked path. In replicating that novel experience, The Cave succeeds. GI Rating 7.75 http://www.gameinformer.com/games/the_cave/b/ps3/archive/2013/01/22/the-cave-review-ingenious-puzzles-tedious-runaround.aspx Review: The Cave - 1UP Despite a few questionable design decisions littered throughout The Cave, its charm, humor, and ingenious puzzle design makes it well worth wading through the flaws. I completed the game twice with a completely different set of characters, and I honestly can't wait to go through it again with the final spelunker in my party. The Cave may not be the most elegant implementation of adventure game mechanics and ideas into a platformer, but damn if doesn't make me remember why I fell in love with the genre so many years ago. 6. Read again what I said. I said I don't want any more casual titles, never said they apologised for the "casual rubbish". Next sentence, I said Iwata apologised to the hardcore crowd and promised things would be better this time around. http://thegamershub.net/2012/05/iwata-apologises-to-core-gamers/
  7. Please God NNNOOOOO!!! Enough of the casual rubbish. They apologised and promised to deliver to the hardcore crowd. Now stand and deliver Nintendo! I'm starving!
  8. That's a very likely scenario. There were figurines for Monster Hunter 3. They just need to implement NFC this time around. I also think the various images of fruit, e.g. Iwata with the bananas might have something to do with NFC or it be take images of fruit with the camera to unlock items in a game like the pikmin carrying the fruit in Pikmin 3. Could be a new franchise with fruit based characters. It's so vague, you could be guessing forever.
  9. So true! If Capcom can make the effort to port a game designed for 2 screens then they can give us RE6. It would also give an extra incentive to Wii U owners many of whom have the 3DS version already. That and it would be an olive branch to resentful Nintendo console owners.
  10. They better be ready. N64 & GC were good times. I can't remember any casual muck from back then released by Nintendo. Flash forward to now and you have Wii Fit, Wii Music, Nintendogs, Wii Sports, Brain Training and on and on. Even titles like Mario Kart Wii, NSMB Wii, Metroid: Other M and the holy grail Zelda: Skyward Sword made huge efforts to grab the casual audience. Where's the casual audience now? Is it still there to the same extent or have they moved on? Iwata apologised and admitted they made a mistake abandoning the hardcore audience for the casuals but talk is cheap. I don't see it yet. There launch games weren't targeted at the core crowd. Where's all the core 3rd party announcements? They may come to reap the rewards of what they sowed last generation. It was great at the time but in the long term it might have hurt them. Time will tell. Fingers crossed it'll be good.
  11. Ubisoft is that 3rd party so far. This years E3 more than ever is crucial to Nintendo's success. There's not a whole lot on the horizon and if we've a repeat of last years E3, Wii U really will be doomed. People can have no more excuses then. The signs I have to say are not bright unfortunately.
  12. Sad news to report. The Monster Hunter 3 Wii servers will close on 30th April. Never could get enough skypiercers.
  13. So nobody liked my acceptance speech? I did win it for the Most Negative Member of the Year. What did ye expect?
  14. Thanks for the rubbish award! Pretty crap when people lie and it's allowed to stay there but when you defend yourself, what do they do? Edit it? No, delete it. There was nothing wrong with what I said, no profanity. I had my debate with this person, clearly won and it's clear from their correspondence and arrogance why they did said actions. It was a stupid category and is in breach of site rules but depending on the height of the moon in the sky and it's alignment with Jupiter and Saturn or on the whim of a mod they may or may not be implemented. I didn't vote for anybody, probably would have been deleted anyway. Thanks again, this party's going on well into the early hours.
  15. See now, here's the thing. Do Microsoft or Sony really need to launch this year? Wii U had to launch because the Wii has been dead for 2 years. Whereas sales of PS3 and 360 are doing fine. Nothing Nintendo has done so far has ruffled their feathers I'm sure and that 3rd parties are refusing to port games to the system must be music to their ears. Then there's also the fact that if they wait until 2014 to launch, the gap between the competition and Wii U will make the Wii U obsolete because components will be cheaper and the gap in technology will make triple ports impossible. I'm just saying it's a possibility, it's not definite. But if I were them that's what I'd be thinking.
  16. Those Wii U sales numbers aren't very good. They had to try and put some spin on them. Saying it earned $30 million more than the Wii is lame. It costs $100 more than the Wii did. They're having a field day with this press release on other sites. 460,000 units sold really isn't great. Even Pachter, the most anti-Nintendo person on the planet predicted it would sell 700,000. What's he going to say about this? At least we have ........??? to look forward to. The release schedule isn't going to help too much for the next 6 months. Somebody's getting a beating in Nintendo HQ over this and if they're not they should be.
  17. Merry Christmas y'all!!!
  18. Yes Rathalos/Rathian aren't clones but I'm sorry this is a lazy port and an easy cash-in from Capcom. Where's the rest of their support? For all we know that game could have been promised as part of the original contract between Nintendo and Capcom.
  19. I went into Smyths Toystore today. They've tonnes of stock. At least 10 NintendoLand premium bundles on display and couldn't count the basic bundles. Sorry I didn't check out to see if there were any ZombiU bundles. They had a very nice dedicated Wii U setup going on. Didn't take any photos, only thought of it now. Christmas shopping does that to the brain. Tethered gamepad in the centre, tethered Wii remotes either side and a nice big TV, again didn't check the brand but it was good quality stuff. A catalogue of Wii U game videos to choose from. Just 1 demo but it's the 1 I'm most interested in, Rayman Legends. It looks stunning, real sharp, controls were spot on. It's the same demo(the 3 level demo) that's everywhere but it's nice to see the game in the flesh and to play it. I would download the demo but I put the Wii U until Christmas morning. Loads of people in the shop but nobody went over to the kiosk. I'm sure people are seeing it, you can't miss it. These kiosks should be in all the shops to inform Joe Public. Nothing beats a bit of hands on action.
  20. As someone who owns the NintendoLand premium bundle I'd recommend getting the ZombiU bundle if possible. I was meant to get the ZombiU bundle from HMV but they messed up my order. Had to buy ZombiU separately. Anyway that's another story. Id also recommend spelling "which" correctly in the thread title, don't mean to be rude. It's just poor grammar is a pet peeve of mine. Get the ZombiU bundle, long story short. It's alot better than some reviews have stated. It's really good and is the best example of a game to use the gamepad features.
  21. I'm not saying that it should be there, I forgot totally about it, I wonder did others? It had its own clan, good games were had. They did try harder than others at the time. Online, voice chat, good controls and tried to get better graphics than PS2 level. Yes it was generic and there's no comparison between this and say Black Ops but maybe it helped force other developers to raise their game.
  22. You know I just remembered The Conduit. Sure it had its problems but I sank 100's of hours into it. High Voltage were one of the few companies to try and push the Wii. Surely that deserved a place in the top 50?
