@Vileplume2000 is right. Bricks with something in them can't be passed through, even if you hit a P switch. Some of the time? Hard pass. @Dcubed has scarred me on that game for life.

Well, I definitely need that Alluring Gem (2 of them actually) And Chaos Oil III is so insanely broken, I could definitely help with breaking Rajang's stupid face. I, meanwhile, need a Rajang Heart... I think I'm entitled to some self pity. Anyway, I'm up for some post MK hunts.

You guys realise that as soon as you stop checking ERA for news and actually post there, you lose, right? Because you are never gonna get your opinion actually taken to account. Half the people don't even read an opening post when they open a thread. They react to titles. Especially if they're of an opinion they don't agree with. So in other words, I super win because I don't even have an account.

PlayStation Classic Announced (3rd Dec 2018)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
Well, kudos to Sony for pony-ing up some extra dough. I like Tekken 3, absolutely dreadful at it, but I remember having fun with it. -

The ironic thing about that particular game is that the main reason it flopped was because it didn't copy Nintendo enough. -

Hold up, isn't Tekken 3 the one with Gon? Wouldn't that cause some copyright issues? Seems weird to choose that one when it will no doubt cost the most to put on the console. -
I was more worried that he'd get lambasted for using the term "sucks balls". And like clockwork, someone called him out on it. ERA is very predictable. What options for borders are there anyway? And which one is the most garish? Personally, I want to make custom borders, but Super Game Boy is where that idea died.

I kinda wanna play through SMB3 with someone who doesn't initiate the stupid Mario Bros. Minigame all the time. Anyone up for that on Friday?

I don't know, but the battle system in Torna isn't the exact same as XB2. So it'll definitely have to explain some things. Considering that they're selling this separate from the game, I have to imagine that there are, for the people who only buy Torna.

September N-E Game Club: Link's Awakening
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Finished 6 (plus the colour one) dungeons now. 1 sitting, no deaths. Had a close call in the dream suite though. Why do those enemies take 3 hearts if they touch you? I was reminded of one of my favourite pieces of music from this game. That small, three room mini dungeon is a remarkably powerful moment. -
Oh neat! I don't have to post three separate tweets whenever I post the MK League results. Check a look, everyone. I'm the only person in the world who thinks that's the coolest thing in this update.

Oh, I'm well ahead of you there...

That's a much nicer concept.

Will update the list on Thursday. But for now...

Had to do a double take at first because I thought they were really having the audacity to have a bundle with a game that's free to download!

You mean like Nintendo said since the first announcement of these NES games? Why would anyone have doubted it?

@Serebii has played a 2-hour demo that goes up to Pewter Gym and Has posted a lot of details on his site. Unfortunately, he confirmed the biggest fear I had for quite a while now. Poor Marowak, gone back to being mediocre. And Farfetch'd. And Ditto. (OK, those last two were still mediocre these days, but now they're terrible again)

Feel free to use quotes from me. But I will require payment...

We're clearly not gonna agree, so if anyone else is reading our discussion, what do you think? Link and Zelda in Smash Ultimate, both from the NES or WiiU/3DS? 1. The Ocarina of Time one, sure. But some Ganondorfs, like the NES and SNES one are a separate thing. Classic case of reconning for convenience, really. 3a. Honestly forgot about the Stack-up game from Warioware. But... Are you controlling R.O.B or the NES controller?

By that logic, every Smasher would be placed in either N64, GC, Wii, 3DS or Switch.

I'm available now and have opened a Prowler based room if you want to join. I've still got some to do myself. I can't promise Randoms will be up for joining as well once I remove the incredibly hard to guess password though.

September N-E Game Club: Link's Awakening
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Started my play through of this last night and finished the second dungeon. I keep finding myself pulling off a diagonal moonwalk whenever I swing the sword. I'm too easily entertained... -
Nintendo said so. Mario is Mario, no matter what he's doing. (The only exception is Paper Mario. Paper Jam confirms that Paper Mario is from a parallel dimension) There are many different Links and Zeldas throughout the series. The whole reincarnation thing is the series way of having varied settings. Smash mentions that many times in trophy descriptions and even had Snake and Mei Ling (That's probably the wrong name for that Metal Gear character) talk about it in Brawl. I mean, if this latest Link somehow counts as a NES character, then why doesn't Young Link or Toon Link? In fact Smash has never even had a NES Link. 64 and Melee went with the OoT design. It's the character from BoTW, that particular Link has never been in any other Zelda game. So therefore, WiiU. It's just like how DK is not the arcade version.

1. It's a fair point. Honestly, Ganondorf is one of the more... Trickier characters to place. There's the whole Ganondorf is Ganon thing, some games say they're two separate beings, some say they're not. Even so, Smash focuses on Ganondorf the Gerudo and we first saw that one in Ocarina of Time. So I made my decision based on his Smash depiction. If Beast Ganon ever became playable, he'd be immediately placed in the NES catagory. 2. I'm surprised no-one mentioned this sooner. I'm not counting Smash itself. It's perfectly up to interpretation on this matter. Saying GameCube for Roy would be perfectly fine. I'm not gonna try and say GBA is the only answer. 3. In Red/Blue Rescue Team, Lucario is a Rescue Team Member like a lot of the Pokémon in those games. He's basically referred to as the best of the best. The statue Julius Caesar is talking about is a reward given to anyone who reaches the highest rank. Kinda like an honorary thing, I guess. But Lucario is a character in it. Even if most people will never see it. 3a. I considered F-Zero GX for R.O.B. It's a unique situation because back then R.O.B was a toy. Nothing more than that. Mario Kart DS was the first time R.O.B was given an actual personality (Yes, personality is a bit strong for R.O.B but it was sentient). It became a video game character then in my opinion. 4. Glad you asked. Completely average. Every Animal Crossing character shares the same animations as Villager these days, especially in New Leaf. So before I agreed that Villager should be moved to "It depends", he was in "Completely average" Because Isabelle is not a custom made character, it's a pretty easy decision for me to place her in Villager's old spot. 5. Yep. It's one of the strangest video game facts really. Plenty of people know about Mario's first appearance. But Sonic's appearance there is something I can imagine would surprise a lot of Sonic fans. (I only learned about it because it's mentioned in a Smash 4 loading screen)
