Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2018 (Final results now in)
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Ah yes, the old "RedShell middle finger" Never fails to be hilariously infuriating. -
You talking about Old Fatalis? Because @Ugh first aid and I just tried it for the first time yesterday when I reached HR 100. And we won! It was bloody close though! The Neset Armour's ropey Thunder resistance didn't help matters, to be fair. Music was gorgeous as well.

Did the Link from Twilight Princess have those remote bombs? Or the Ancient Arrows? Different Link. "Everyone is here" is a lie! It's the scandal of the century!
-
Link isn't the same Link as other Links. That's been established. Pac-Man is always Pac-Man. No matter the design. The only character that's the same person throughout the Zelda series would be Ganondorf. Yep, you're right. Lucario appeared in Red Rescue Team on the GBA. And you are right twice. Blue and Red Rescue Team came out at the same time. But it's obvious that the GBA one was made first with the DS one being the port job. Especially when you compare it to the sequel. Pretty much the same situation as Breath of the Wild actually.

You know it's true though. Accept the inevitable! I did enjoy doing the research for this one. I definitely learned a couple of things. Like where Richter is from (Had to ask @Dcubed about that. The Castlevania nutjob) and just how little of the DS is represented in Smash. Luigi was the most surprising for me though, could've sworn he was in the arcade catagory. But nope, Mario Bros. G&W came out before Mario Bros. Arcade. Nuts, huh?

Oh boy! I've done another tier list that has nothing to do with actual Smash Gameplay! This one is here to teach y'all which console each character appeared on first! Before you start getting all nitpicky, some things I want to point out. Dr. Mario came out on both the NES and Game Boy on the exact same date in Japan. So I went with the American Release dates, the NES one came out first there. Donkey Kong from the Arcade game is not the Donkey Kong that you play as in Smash. This was canonised with Donkey Kong Country. So there! While Captain Falcon is featured in the artwork for F-Zero on the SNES, he never shows up in that actual game. F-Zero X is where he first showed up in-game. The Zelda characters are determined by the game that their depiction in Ultimate is from. So Link is from Breath of the Wild, Zelda is from A Link Between Worlds, etc. I counted Breath of the Wild as a WiiU game, because it originally started as one and was then ported to the Switch. Although Wolf appears in the SNES title StarFox 2, that didn't officially come out until the SNES Mini was released. So N64 it is. Animal Crossing originally came out on the N64 in Japan. Zero Suit Samus is from Metroid: Zero Mission. Don't argue. R.O.B first appeared as an actual character in Mario Kart DS. Yes, Sonic and Lucario are in the correct place. Trust me on this. Feel free to demonstrate your nerdy knowledge and explain why. Maybe you learned something, you know, apart from how much of a nerd I am.

Well yeah, Dillon needs a stage from Rolling Western. That just makes sense. Shut up, I have to keep the dream alive! I'm expecting Pokémon Sun/Moon to get something. (Even if Pokémon Mystery Dungeon has far more interesting locales to use)
-
I've just headed online now. So if you want to join me, go right ahead. Just me at the mo, @Ugh first aid will be available later tonight. So I'm gonna focus on upping my armour and weapons. I forsee many Hyper Monsters. Might have to get Randoms to help out.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is the fourth installment of the much-loved Legend of Zelda games. It was released for the Game Boy in 1993. After getting caught in the middle of a storm at sea, Link washes up on Koholint Island. He learns from an owl that in order to return home, he must travel across the island and collect the eight Instruments of the Sirens that will wake up the mysterious Wind Fish. Regarded as one of the finest examples of the top-down style of Zelda game, Link's Awakening boasts just as much adventure as you'd expect from the series. 1999 gave us an enhanced version of the game called The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. Playing this on a Game Boy Colour gives you colour graphics, Game Boy Printer compatability and a whole new dungeon to explore with a powerful item as a reward for beating it. The second game for N-E's Game Club is a bona-fide classic. You're free to play either the original or the DX version, whether it be on Game Boy or the 3DS Virtual Console. And maybe @Hero-of-Time will take more than a day to beat it... Maybe. For an extra challenge for those 3DS players, try finishing the game without ever dying or selecting "Save and Quit"

In Gen Ultimate, Blue sharpness provides a 1.2 damage multiplier. Purple gives a 1.39 multiplier. Worth keeping in mind about how bouncing off of a monster reduces damage, even with Piercing Boomerangs. Considering you never lower sharpness with Prowlers, chances are you want the purple sharpness. I'm available for one more night of hunting tonight. @Ugh first aid unlocked Transmog and wants to show you all her incredibly rock hard and effective armour.
-
So should someone make the thread? I can do it if you want.
-
Thanks for the hunts last night, @S.C.G, @Ugh first aid, @RedShell and @Hero-of-Time I've unlocked Chaos Oil II now. Naturally, the first quest I do with H-O-T, I get my only death of the night. What is it with me? That's three separate occasions now! Clearly, his unedited shout-outs throw me off. It's the only explanation!
-
That's cool. I'm helping @Dcubed with some crappy quests at the mo anyway.
-
What time is good for you?
-
@S.C.G you up for finishing off your Astalos set tonight?
-
X specifically? Ehhhhh... I tired to play through it recently on Steam but I've lost motivation right on the second airship fight with Sin. I should finish it really. Don't get me wrong, it's really cool these games are finally coming to a Ninty console, but X specifically doesn't excite me. Now, Chocobo's Dungeon on the other hand? Yes please! Always wanted to try that since Theatrhythm taught me it existed. That should scratch that Pokémon Mystery Dungeon itch.

Duuuuude! Isabelle is freaking huge these days! She's basically the face of Animal Crossing. She has buttloads of fans. As far as the casual AC fan goes, she's the most popular character. There's no contest. There's a reason she was picked for Mario Kart. Heavily tweaked Villager moveset works well for Isabelle. I mean, could you really see her wielding an axe? That just ain't right...
-
What would Zelda have though? Co-op? Leaderboards? Actually, I'd be down for that. No idea how you'd implement it...
-
I mean, my guess would be online capabilities. Although Zelda is throwing me off there...
-
The official site refers to the SP as "Special Edition" Make of that what you will.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2018 (Final results now in)
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
If you say so. If someone does find evidence of him pulling it off, I'll happily readjust the scores. @Dcubed is this week's "Player Who Made No Bloody Difference" It's a good thing you had celebrity backing you up this week, otherwise it would have just felt pointless. @Ugh first aid makes her debut to the League, you'd think we'd go easy on new people, but then it wouldn't be the N-E League, would it? Everyone except for @viceview51 completed the "Sick New Ride" Random Task. Unfortunately, I have no concrete proof on my MKTV footage that he landed on a Lorry/Bus in Toad's Turnpike. If someone finds some, let me know. Next League Night: 20th September 8pm Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i @BowserBasher @martinist @viceview51 @RedShell @Gourmetsalt Honestly, if you didn't see this theme coming, you're clearly not paying attention. @viceview51 I looked back at the footage of your Random Task on Toad's Turnpike, but I can't quite make out whether you nailed it or not. I think lag is interfering with it a bit. If you did complete the task, could you perhaps provide a screenshot of you on top of a lorry? It almost looks like you do on my end, but it's not conclusive. Anyway, one moment from me this week. And funny behaviour from @Dcubed -
Quick update due to yesterday's Direct. Isabelle predicted by: Wait, no-one? Huh. Well this was pointless then. Not only that, but no hopes crushed because no-one predicted Tom Nook either. So the score remains the same as last time. Oh well, bound to happen sooner or later. Not including Inkling, that's 14 characters that Smash 4 didn't have now. See you next direct!

Room is open now @RedShell and @S.C.G
