Did you try going back to the dungeon where you get the Boomerang in the first place? Not sure if it'll work, but it's worth a shot. A guide is pretty much required if you want to get everything though, there's a lot of secrets that seem pretty random. Anyway, I'm throwing down a gauntlet for the one puzzle game I'm actually quite good at. Yoshi, specifically B-Type EDIT: Screw it! I'll throw in the A-Type score as well.

They do say the best poems are the ones done in anger.

It's antiquated sure, but once you get into it, it really does shine. When I jumped into a room with @Sméagol last night, he was in dungeon 2 and it was strangely entertaining to watch him go through it. He even taught me that you can throw the boomerang diagonally. Honestly had no idea about that. Sooner or later though, we started playing together and I got some moments recorded. River City Ransom is surprisingly good. A co-op beat-em-up with some RPG elements? I wasn't sure what I was doing half the time though, I might have to find a scan of the instruction booklet and look through it. I think we had to equip some of the items we bought somehow? SMB3's world 4 music is still so god-damn catchy though! EDIT: So I looked up some deets on River City Ransom and found some useful information. You can press select on the character select screen to rename the characters. Surprisingly useful for online play. To use the books, you have to press start to open the menu and equip them. That explains why they didn't seem to do anything. Remember that High School we couldn't get into @Sméagol? Turns out we have to beat all of the bosses first.

I'm already on the phone to get "Where's Dino Chav?" approved on the big TV networks!

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy — Early 2019
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It is included. They played a bit of it at the TGS demonstration. -
September N-E Game Club: Link's Awakening
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Yes. For some reason, saving and quitting counts as a death and adds 1 to your death count. Just like Zelda 1 and Link to the Past. Last Zelda game to do that. On the 3DS, it's very doable if you're careful. But on the Game Boy, it turns it into a strange sort of speed run challenge. Finish the game before the batteries give out. Here's an interesting tidbit, the best ending on DX is a bit different than the one on the original game. And no, the difference isn't the extra colour. -
Telltale Games lays off majority of staff
Glen-i replied to Ashley's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It always sucks when a company that makes games that certainly has fans suffers something like this. I can't say I ever played any of their games, but I can only hope that the laid-off staff can find work somewhere else. -
Octopath Traveler is an old-school RPG by some of the people who made the Bravely games on the 3DS. It was released on the Switch back in July. The game sold amazingly well for a game of it's genre. The game follows... um... Well, that's kinda up to you. You're given a choice of having any of the 8 playable characters as your main character. The game follows the individual stories of these 8 characters as they meet and work together to achieve their own goals. Is it just coincidence that brings these travelers together? In my opinion, the 8 stories range from pretty good to pretty eh. There's some nice ideas here, but nothing amazing. The voice acting is pretty solid too. No complaints here. The gameplay is where the game truly shines. Just like the Bravely games, the battle system is nothing short of spectacular. It revolves around storing BP and spending it to power up your attacks. But as you progress, you get a wealth of options to fine tune your party to just how you like it. Strategy plays a big part in this, and the right one can really turn the tide in your favour. Can I just post one of my favourite pieces of music? Because the soundtrack is stonkingly good! Almost every battle music is top-notch and I keep humming some of them to myself. I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention the visuals. Dubbed "HD-2D" by the developers. A cool mixture of 16-bit sprite work with modern day locations and very heavy lighting. It kinda looks like a diorama and I certainly enjoy it. I also like how visually exciting battles can look. It reminds me of playing Golden Sun, where attack animations are incredibly satisfying. I'd post a GIF, but it really doesn't do it justice. So all in all. I think Octopath Traveler is proper solid. It's not perfect, and it's only for the bigger fans of turn-based RPG's. But what is there is one of the more imaginative games of the genre you'll see these days. It deserves all the success it got.

September N-E Game Club: Link's Awakening
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
All done! Link's Awakening still holds up well. It strikes just the right balance between modern day Zelda and too antiquated NES Zelda. Soundtrack is among the top Game Boy soundtracks and the colour visuals add some much needed vibrancy. Also, the Boomerang is OP. You can get the new item in the seventh dungeon immediately with it. Skipping one of the trickier puzzles of the game. -
Good session there. I always thought World 3 was harder than world 4 anyway. 3-7 really kicked our butts there for a bit though.
-
Just give me the room ID. I can add you through the game.
-
Well, I'm in the middle of a quest. Keep the room locked and me and 2 others will join when we can.

What time are you going online. Because I'll help.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2018 (Final results now in)
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Random Task Bonus Points are in Green @RedShell @martinist and @viceview51 are this week's "Players who made no Bloody Difference" Triple the people, triple the mediocrity! Welcome back to @Sméagol, who jumped into the room at the last minute. Nah, it's cool. Don't worry about confusing the chat room when there's meant to be 10 people. Anyway, I touched your face, realised it's you and it was all good. Everyone got points in the "Calling Your Shot" Random Task. Some more than others, most people underestimated themselves for sure. Now normally we do Player's Choice at the end of the month, but I got a strange letter recently... There was no name at the end, so I don't know who sent it, but it came with a theme. Next League Night: 27th September 2018 Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i @BowserBasher @viceview51 @martinist @RedShell @Gourmetsalt Player's Choice will be done next week. Sign up Now! -
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2018 (Final results now in)
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
1.4.1 is the latest one. As soon as I entered the Mario Kart Room, I received a notification on my phone saying I can join the Voice Chat Room that @BowserBasher and @martinist had started. It even told me that information on the Switch itself, it was a lot more slick than I thought it would be. Try checking to see if Notifications are set to "On" in the app itself? Anyway, here's a few of my highlights. -
Well, @Dcubed How's your theory of "the new Pokémon they're releasing in this game is gonna be the new Pokémon Smash rep"? Because there is no way in hell if that's what it is! It's the Pokémon this game deserves.
-
Yep, that's the border. The only difference in multiplayer is the profile pic circles/signal strength on the left. It really isn't that bad guys. The text on the bottom is a tad annoying, but it could be a lot worse.
-
It was a fun session. There was some crazy graphical glitching during the World 3 Fortress though. You definitely did better during Super Mario Bros though. Balloon Fight was a lot of fun too. What happened here though!?
-
Wondered where you went there. No problems on my end though...
-
You go to the inventory and Press Up + A I think... EDIT: On the second controller Of course, you could just use a Restore Point. Anyway, online actually made NES Tennis fun, so kudos. Sarcastic claps are the best thing about it!

Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
@Dcubed and I will hop on the app -
I went back and updated the two tier lists I did.
-
Naturally, there was an update for the Cloud Save Backup functionality. But it did something else as well. It's a small thing, but more options are nice.
-
You're playing Ghosts n' Goblins. The game's really bloody hard!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2018 (Final results now in)
Glen-i replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Next League Night: Tonight 8pm Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i @BowserBasher @martinist @viceview51 @RedShell @Gourmetsalt @Vileplume2000 @S.C.G @Nintendo Fan Random Tasks will be sent shortly. Anyway, it's time we addressed the Online Subscription thing. You will need an active online subscription to Nintendo Online from now on. While you can use the free 7-day trial to take part in one more night, after that you'll need to pay to play in the League. It sucks, but we all knew it was coming sooner or later. To all those in the "Always In" list, if you're not gonna pay for a subscription, let me know and I'll remove you from that list. EDIT: There's an update for Mario Kart as well. Allow extra time for the download.
