I just found out this game still doesn't have Kecleon! Or Smeargle. How do you go through Gen 3 and not have Kecleon!? Either it's too good for this game. (Which is true) or there's some blatant discrimination going on here.

Well, that's the thing. This is a very strange occurence. Mario Party is not known for having attention to detail. They always feel pretty cheap. This kind of stuff is utterly unheard of for this series. Here's the results of the Mario Party @Dcubed and I had a while back, he was Monty Mole and I was Boo. It took Dcubed 10 turns to get one star and then he gets 4 in the last 3 turns! Oh right! One more thing. It's not a proper Mario Party without some ridiculous Boo shenanigans. Boo climbed a big pole to get here. I HAVE MANY QUESTIONS! Doesn't quite beat the king of "WTF Boo!?" moments though.

Yeah, @Dcubed and I just saw that when we were playing Sound Stage. There's an amazing amount of small details in this game! For example, if Kamek has to take something from Bowser, Kamek actually tries to not anger him by saying that he's "just doing his job". Peach reacts to being Mario's ally in a different way to anyone else. Every character has idle animations for running around the hub, most of the smaller characters like Monty Mole and Koopa have brand new sound clips. And in Minigames where height would realistically make a difference, the shorter characters get a box to stand on.

Kinda totally forgot about the celebrity Pikachu in Sun/Moon. Hmmm... Might have to cause another argument with a tier list of how famous each character is in their respective series.

It's worth noting that each board has a Mario Party layout and a Partner Party layout. So 4 isn't quite right... EDIT: Duhhhh! @Ashley literally just said that, what's wrong with me? Played a couple of games with the community centre. It's great. One kid was dominating for like 11 turns and then lost everything in the last 4 turns. It was insanely unfair and that's why I love Mario Party! I really like the smaller boards. It's balanced well around the lower dice blocks. The character blocks from MP: Star Rush add a whole new layer of strategy and can really turn things around if you have a bit of luck. The minigames I played are solid so far. Full of non-sensical Boo shenanigans. Falling down holes, ground pounding stuff, the usual. Haven't seen him playing that Trike game, but it's only a matter of time before I die of laughter. I think Monty Mole is an even weirder inclusion than Spike was in MP 10. Still, Hammer Bro is back and he still has the voice from Mario Strikers, so it's all good. And Sound Stage is amazing in multiplayer, don't sleep on that!

Anyway, here's the GP3 scores after recalculation with the "Co-op Grand Prix" bonus points applied. @martinist was meant to be paired up with @Dcubed, but he couldn't make it. So @martinist gets the maximum points. Only fair. Wait, why does this table give me strange deja vu? WAIT! OH NO! Yep, before the league started, I sent @viceview51 this Private Message. So ignoring the bonus points. @martinist was the only one to be beaten by @viceview51 in GP3. Which means that @martinist loses 10 points while @viceview51 and @Dcubed gets 5 points. @BowserBasher dodged a Bullet Bill there! This close to losing 10 points! Dcubed's points get added to his last League appearance. One thing that amused me in the GP3 results was that @BowserBasher and @Gourmetsalt made each other get the same amount of points. That's some proper teamwork there! Look, I like Greninja as much as the next Glen, but Greninja was the flavour of the month back in 2016. I doubt it'd beat Pikachu nowadays. And let's not forget that there was a bias towards hard to get Pokémon because the winner got a special distribution later. Which is why the likes of Arceus was there. No-one knows Arceus. 18 of the top 25 were legendary/mythical Pokemon, that pretty much says it all. "My favourite Pokémon is Diancie!" said no-one ever. Pikachu is the most popular and well known Pokemon. When you have an official annual parade all about the thing, how can you ever question it? This is a better question. Pikachu isn't actually all that if you go by the NPC's in the Pokémon games. It's just another Pokémon to them. Which kinda ruins Mimikyu even more for me because now it doesn't make as much sense.

Does it always look like a Pikachu I wonder? Would be cool if it mimicked other Pokémon like Chansey, then when you ran close to get healing items, it grabbed you and didn't let go. Always a Pikachu. Mimikyu's deal is that it wants friends, so it tries to look like the most popular Pokémon.

For what it's worth, I always thought the NES controller was a bit pants anyway. Horizontally placed buttons are not as comfortable as diagonally placed ones. EDIT: Well, as long as it's positioned SE to NW. Otherwise, you get this.

I'm not saying it can't happen. But it's still a bit of a risk. Especially if it's along the lines of OoT 3D or StarFox 64 3D where the visuals were redone. It would also take some staff from Nintendo working on it, which might not be feasible if they're doing something for the Switch. Especially for a game they'd have to make a new engine for. EDIT: I guess Pilotwings could just reuse the Pilotwings Resort assets, but the others? Not so much.

The problem is, the games @nekunando mentioned are dead franchises currently. They're nowhere near the popularity of the ones you mentioned. I mean, when you're a Ninty franchise more niche than StarFox, that's a bad sign.

So the latest DLC has an interesting quest. I can't remember the exact name, but it's something along the line of "URGENT: COAL MINERS NEEDED" The actual quest is a boring "Collect 10 coal" thing. But it turns out that completing the subquest and then exiting the quest through that is much more worth it. You hunt a G-Rank Brachy, which has less health than usual, but hits harder. The reward for doing so is best explained with a YouTube thumbnail. I'm gonna assume that's with the charmer skill but it's kinda ridic! I just might be able to get my dream talisman of Handicraft, Wide Range and 3 slots.

I've never fought DeadEye... Yian Garuga is cheap enough...
