  1. Anyway, you lot finished Mario 64 on Switch online yet? Why not? It didn't go completely smoothly though... This is actually the first time I attempted a 16 star run. Easier then you'd think it would be. I'd give an account of the game, but I only played 13% of it.
  2. You kidding, right? Gaze upon the face of perfection and weep! Boo design literally peaked at Mario Tennis 64. Still my favourite Boo model!
  3. If you're going into this wanting a robust single player experience, reconsider. If you're planning to play with friends or online, then it's a riot. Even if commits the cardinal sin of making Boo unplayable! (Still angry about that) Played a couple of games with @Dcubed and @Ugh first aid. Hilarity didn't take long to show up. What's cool is that even though we used my account to play, any coins, achievements and records got by the other two got sent to their file! Even though they hadn't booted up the game on their account yet! Wish more multiplayer games did that. That said, the coin economy is kinda wack. Items are pretty damn cheap. Battle games (called versus games in this entry) are also hilarious! First of all, it's actually quite easy for the person who landed on that space to time the roulette and choose how many coins everyone has to bet. Secondly, whoever comes in first basically gets 80% of the pot! Cue me getting 94 of the 120 coins! @Dcubed had 300 coins at one point in the second game! He did almost lose though. (Damn you Bonus Stars! I was robbed!) Because of this, I don't actually recommend selecting the "Classic" Bonus Stars option. It's far too lopsided towards the person who won the most minigames, basically giving 2 stars to them at the end. Because of these ridiculous versus games, and the chance for a minigame to be worth double coins (Double Bonus game is just stupid!), it's very easy to be drowning in money! Oh, and I love the Tri Force Heroes style stickers. They're great!
  4. This. While I'm doing the initial conversion, I'm actually keeping a close eye on any moments that I feel need extra attention with a dedicated angle, write down when they happen, where they happen, who they happen to, and any notes telling me if there's a Final Smash beforehand that will reset the view. Then I convert it again without the UI, which means I have to manually keep time, and prepare the camera in the correct place before hand (But not before a Final Smash happens because that resets the camera, annoyingly). Because there's no way to rewind replays, any shot that involves me having to move the camera is a nightmare! I try to avoid that whenever possible. That moment when @S.C.G wouldn't stop throwing the barrel down took more then a few attempts! The pitfalls of how replays work really. It only saves the button inputs, so it takes up a lot less space then a proper match video would. Still, I'm glad Edit Video is a thing. Helps me make a more professional looking video all in-game. It's really fun, if a bit cumbersome. I hope it sticks around for future games (with improvements, obviously)
  5. Votes have now closed. The results will be posted once I get the article done.
  6. It is done! 11 minutes! First of all, thanks to @Dcubed for stitching the four videos together and adding some... interesting quirks to it. And for that thumbnail. That is art! OK, let's take my time and get this right. The Soras are: @Glen-i as KH1 Sora (Red Shorts, yellow shoes, stupid grin in UI that you just want to slap) @Ike as KH2 Sora (Mostly black outfit, has yellow straps around thighs and a red pouch, looks over his shoulder in UI, it's the outfit in the above thumbnail) @Dcubed as Dream Drop Distance Sora (Equal parts red and black outfit, looks to the left in UI) @BowserBasher as Timeless River Sora (Monochrome, sticks out like a sore thumb) @S.C.G as KH3 Ultimate Form Sora (Mostly white outfit, black tiger stripe shorts for some reason, looks straight ahead in UI) Also featuring: @Ugh first aid as Rosalina & Luma @Sprout as Sephiroth, Kirby, and Cloud @RedShell as Cuphead and Duck Hunt Duo It was a hilarious night, and while this may be the last time I make a video for a character based night, it won't be the last video I make in Smash Ultimate. I'll probably restrict myself to only saving videos that I know have hilarity in them to save my sanity. Anyway, a more standard Smash session at 8pm, this Saturday if anyone is interested. EDIT: LOL! If you go to the actual YouTube page for that, it's been automatically tagged as having footage from Kingdom Hearts III. (It certainly does not) Like I said, it's official canon now!
  7. Yeah, we'll try on Saturday as an experiment.
  8. I'm debating what to play first... Ah, yes! I've got it! Dr. Mario 64! AKA; "What do you mean, Wario Land 3 got a spin-off!?" Such a bizarre game...
  9. Oh yay! It is coming to Switch then? Gonna keep that on my wishlist. This was the second best thing about the Devolver Direct this year.
  10. It's the last day to get your tie breaker votes in.
  11. Had to confirm this, but Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise is on the eShop as well. Some of the games there show up in the 3DS game, but not all of them. Well worth it if you like Rhythm games. Fun fact: The European version is the best version of that, because we got both the English and Japanese versions of songs included.
  12. Not too surprising really, Pandora's Tower was one of the three games that people refer to as "Operation Rainfall", these 3 games were released and localised by NoE and only came out in America after a campaign from fans there. Xenoblade Chronicles was one of them and became such a critical success that it catapulted Shulk from niche RPG protagonist to Smash Bros character. But because of that, Xenoblade kinda overshadowed the other two games, Pandora's Tower, and The Last Story. Now, while I do agree that Xenoblade is the best of the bunch, the other two are no slouches. If you can get a copy of them at a reasonable price, go for it. But they can be tricky to get a hold of because of their late release and initial limited availability. And yes, the cases for all three games are great. Reversible covers, as well. Really gorgeous!
  13. Oh yes, Sin and Punishment 2 on the Wii is great! Very good arcade style StarFox-like game! I can't remember if it's on the WiiU eShop, but The Last Story is a solid little action RPG.
  14. Oh yeah, I vaguely remember that now. Well, the connection I leech off of Dcubed runs fine, so I'm gonna say "Maybe?"
  15. Option to use the Platinum outfit? Cool. Locking it behind an early purchase condition? Not cool. I mean, I'm buying it day 1 anyway, but still.
  16. Yeah, that's what I mean with OoT's visual issues. That Water Temple room is just unacceptable. I'm not sure what you mean? Never heard of that issue. Whenever I use @Dcubed's internet. I'm normally one floor up from his router. And despite the fact that him and Ugh First Aid were also playing with me on their Switches downstairs and all using Wi-Fi. Smash (a very demanding game) ran perfectly fine, even with 5 other N-Europer's. In comparison, I tried to play Mario Golf: Super Rush with random people using his Ethernet connection at the start of this month. and it was prone to connection lag. So I'm only gonna trust my usual N-E gaming sessions to judge connection quality. Playing with @BowserBasher though? Perfectly fine.
  17. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is the only way you can play that game with the motion controls. So to me, getting it on the WiiU is still the best way to play RE4 (Most Wii games have faster loading on the WiiU) While I would recommend playing the other Metroids first, don't overlook Other M just because of it's poor reputation. It's a fun game, as long as you go in knowing that the story is stupid and there are some minor issues. (The pixel hunting first-person sections are very frustrating later on) EDIT: Oh right. Yoshi's Woolly World is worth looking into. It's better than Crafted World, in my opinion. It's also disgustingly cute. DOUBLE EDIT: Oh crud, forgot that had a 3DS port.
  18. I'm gonna wait until I try out the online connection on this before judging it. Random people are prone to using potato quality wi-fi with the Switch. 8 of us people on N-Europe played Smash Bros Ultimate on Saturday and it ran buttery smooth. So theoretically, it should be no problem here. I know from experience that the SNES app runs well. Played quite a few games with someone else with very little interruptions. Anyone wanna test this out Thursday-Saturday? That said, the visual issues (especially with OoT) and the audio inaccuracies with NSO are not good.
  19. That's an unavoidable consequence of using a more typical controller with an N64 game. It's never gonna feel quite right. No option to remap buttons is just dumb though.
  20. Yep, got my shiny dog codes as well. No idea what to do with the Sword one though. Might borrow @Ugh first aid's Switch and use my account to get myself both.
  21. I'm going by previous Metroid knowledge here, but probably not. You'll likely just get a different ending picture. It's purely for the challenge.
  22. When Fighters Pass 1 ended, I asked you lot how you ranked the three main aspects of it: Characters, Stages, and Music. Well, it's been a week now. Time to rank Fighters Pass 2! Here's a link to the last time I asked people this, so if you want, you can go back and remind yourself of what you said last time. And you can transplant them to make a big list of 11 if you fancy it or changed your mind Oh, and if you haven't got Fighters Pass 2, it might be worth mentioning that, so people know that your opinion is based on fighting against each character. All in all, it's hard for me to say which Fighters Pass is better. The second one has the better batting average with characters, but it's stages are not as fun as the first pass. The music is hard for me to decide which one comes out on top. I'm happy with both of them though!
  23. Couldn't help but notice this when I was going back for another post I'm making. Wonder how he feels about that now.
  24. Uhhhh... OK? Can't say I would've ever guessed that.
  25. The upside of Miiverse being shut down is that there's a chance that guy (You know who) hadn't seen that and subsequently died from happiness.
