Boo's attempt to copy Waluigi never fails to make me laugh. Someone animated that. There's no way in hell it's carrying over to this game.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The amount of times that has happened to me is massive. There's always one I've overlooked. -
Wait, your Pokémon aren't level 100? Then the AI is gonna be even lower then 60! You're really fighting a hopeless battle there.
-
Doesn't help that the 5 star Kanto Starters are level 80, 20 levels higher then the usual. Even if you're level 100, the AI only scales to around 60-ish. So they're vastly underpowered for this. Add to that the mostly awful Pokémon and movesets they have, and it's a losing fight most of the time. It's obviously designed like that to encourage people to play raids with others. Otherwise, no-one would play them online. I just wish people online would stop using legendaries, it gets boring seeing the same Pokémon all the time. The only thing you can realistically do without NSO is build a competitive Pokémon to dish out as much damage as possible. EDIT: You're not using Zacian/Zamazenta/Eternatus, are you? They can't Dynamax, so they're not ideal for playing with AI, who never Dynamax. Dynamax moves knock off 2 notches of a shield, which is very important.

I only just saw it, and I know it's been said already, but I need to throw my opinion in about it. That logo is shit. Smash Ultimate manages to do a better job. That's part of the game's UI!

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (19th November 2021)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Patch is available now. It fixes the Global Union Room so that 8 people can be in one room at a time. It also activates the Group and Global Ranking machines in Jubilife TV. And it also allows players to finally use the Colosseum to battle random people online. And... That's it. If @Serebii's patch discoveries are extensive (It's been 3 and a half hours since his last update), then the GTS seems to still be unavailable! That's beyond ridiculous if that's the case. EDIT: An important thing to note about this patch. It adds a sort of checker to crack down on Pokémon that were cloned using the many glitches this game had. If you cloned Pokémon this way, you may not be able to trade it to other games. This would likely include transferring it to Home when the compatibility for that gets added. -
This isn't correct. The shiny rates are standard, according to Serebii.

Definitely not all of them, DK Jr probably ain't happening. But it's not too difficult to take a handful, and reposition them for bikes. 1 or 2 per pack isn't outside the realm of possibility. But it's just as likely they won't happen, so who knows?
-
Yeah, that has "Wii Vitality Sensor" written all over it. It's never gonna wake up.
-
Can't say I expected a sequel to Tokyo Mirage Sessions to come out. Definitely didn't expect it to be on everything except the Switch. At least it's on XBox. So it should be on Game Pass. Because I want to play this.
-
Oh no, I'd love to be wrong. I just don't see it happening. Pokémon getting retroactively added to a previously released game would certainly be a first. The Battle Ready mark is a pretty elegant way of making sure everyone is on a level playing field for competitive battles while still allowing people to use Pokémon from previous games. While also subtlely removing Toxic from lots of Pokémon that could previously learn it. As for moves that don't exist in the game, they'll just do what they did with the likes of Return and Hidden Power. Have a catch-all description telling the player that the move can't be used and recommends that it be deleted.
-
Eh, it's been less then a month. Never say never, but I think it's a tad too soon, even for concept art. BDSP stuff is about as good as I expect it to be, and that's a big if.
-
A lot of people speculating that Sword and Shield are gonna get the new Pokémon and regional variants from Arceus added to it. It's not gonna be that. As much as I would like that, because it'll mean they'll get some actual usage from me in a battle system that doesn't feel lacking. It's likely some kind of Mystery Gift or Event Raid.
-
Literally the first Starman Super! You can't make this stuff up!
-
I don't see why not? 200cc was just randomly dropped alongside the WiiU DLC, wasn't it? And this Booster Pass is mostly a way to salvage tracks from Tour, after all.
-
@Ugh first aid also said something of a similar nature to me on WhatsApp. Corsola really is annoying if you don't have a special attacker that hits a weakness, huh?
-
In true 90's fashion, that guide claims that you can get the best weapon for Ness from the Kraken. You can't, it's a 1/128 drop from an enemy right near the end of the game. A lot of people wasted a lot of time repeating a boss that never drops an item.
-
Because it's an attempt to give the player something to do in this big, massive, empty world. Open world games always have the same problem of needing the player to do something to distract them while they're playing the game. The problem is that it almost always devolves into check lists and busywork.

That is why you fail. Pokémon is SERIOUS BUSINESS!
-
I don't need her approval! All I need is typing knowledge! And Tyrantrum is Rock/Dragon. Charizard could've been a Dragon type, but Game Freak ditched that form!
-
It's orange. And it's not a dragon. Here's your big red dragon.
-
Legit one of the few good things about the Pokedex in this game. I mean, I like Charizard, but it's been in all of the Switch mainline titles up until now! A fourth in a row would be just super boring. This is why Sword/Shield's Champion sucks. Ever since Gen 3, each Champion has used a newly introduced Pokémon as their "ace". Leon? No, he uses an effing Charizard! You have so many great Gen 8 Pokémon to choose from and you go with the most boring mainstream Gen 1 pandering choice! Hop was way more fun to fight with his Zacian/Zamazenta. Charizard isn't even that good since it lost it's Mega Evolution!

For all its issues, I don't think it can be understated how unique an RPG Beginnings was back when it was released. Pretty much all RPGs of the time were medieval affairs after Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. So to have one set in 80's America was certainly a bold step. EarthBound (and Mother 3) is easily the better game, it feels like a more refined retelling of Beginnings. Mechanics are better, the world is larger, but nowhere near as confusing and unbalanced, and provided you talk to everyone along the way, you shouldn't find yourself getting lost nearly as often. The rolling HP system is a great mechanic that I'm amazed no-one has ripped off. But, I dunno, Beginnings is notable in a gaming history sort of way, if that makes any sense. Eight Melodies is such a good track. It hits surprisingly hard and the build up of these seemingly random notes you've been collecting coming together to make a song. That said, I prefer Mother Earth. NoA were very wary about selling an RPG to the West. They were stubbornly insistent that Americans were too stupid to enjoy RPG's, which led to that infamously terrible PR campaign that sold EarthBound as some sort of gross-out game, when it was nothing like that at all. They just focused so hard on that Master Belch boss and made out like the whole game was about puke. I can't imagine Shigesato Itoi was happy about that. Thankfully, Smash Bros. happened, and got people wondering "Who the hell is this Ness kid?"

I mean, this is the series with items called "Swear Words", "Signed Banana", and "Monkey's Love". Amazingly enough, the latter two have nothing to do with each other. 4th D Slip is a PSI ability, BTW.
