  1. Well firstly I think the anti-emo kids will slaughter you for using Linkin Park if they see this thread. (Since they haven't figured out LP isn't emo) I also think that website is annoyingly put together, sending you on a wild goose chase before finally taking you to your desired video. But on topic *downloads* firstly, what did you use to encode it? DivX and XviD are your friends, although x264 seems to be the way of the future. I ask because I couldn't play it in Winamp, so I used VLC Media Player. Although the video started a little slow, I think the part during the song's chorus is where it showed it's stuff. The way you picked up the pace and timed the tennis hits with the upward parts of the riff and drumbeat seemed skillful and definitely made it more fun to watch. The subtitles threw me off a bit from time to time though. Nice work =) keep it up.
  2. Very nice reminds me of album artwork or perhaps the cover to a creepy old book.
  3. I couldn't really pick a fave without seeing where they were going. They all look a lot like newspaper or magazine titles. I've always been partial to Myriad though - in the right placement.
  4. Ah I didn't actually follow that link. That's for the dark grey background at the back of this page, see how it's not plain grey, it's actually grey with a black dot? Imagine a 2x2px square like this A B C D if A,B and C are grey, and D is black, then when tiled, it will look like lots of black dots =) Still, a 2x2 image on a background with a resolution of (usually at most) 1280x1024, and bearing in mind a website doesn't fill your whole screen, is only about 320,000 images =) And when they're so completely tiny (50 bytes!) its not hard to render them that many times. Think we've gone a bit off your topic there but that's how the background tiling works. Using CSS you can also choose to have the background only repeat vertically or horizontally.
  5. Millions? Hardly, and any fast pc can render a <1kb gif in microseconds. From what I can tell with Revo Europe's design, there's just one background image for the whole main layout, with the spacing carefully organised so that sections fit into their allocated area of that image.
  6. Urm, the same way you put any other image in your sig =) (Including the one you already have) [img=www.url.com]
  7. Vertically tiled images as a background. If a table is made using percentages or without pixel size restrictions, it will resize vertically according to the content placed in it. If it has a vertically tiled background (i.e. a background which when placed in a vertical row will look consistent), it will continue to fill the background all the way down. Edit: I'll give you an example, take a look at this thread, no matter how many posts are put in it, the background will continue to 'grow' without needing new images. The background image is here: http://revo-europe.com/images/forum/forum_bg.gif As it tiles one on top of the other, it creates the light grey bar behind this post.
  8. This is just another example of prejudice towards Americans... I spent 6 months in America and I never met anyone who completely loves America, thinks America is superior or goes 'over the top about stuff' (any more than anyone in this country).
  9. Oh good so I wasn't the only one to notice the posting date was April 01, 2006.
  10. I didn't take guitar lessons from a professional, but if I had, I think I would've been much better much faster.
  11. Well yes, as long as its not reallyreally 'huge ass' a cable will always be more reliable - but I connect to my wireless router using a fairly basic USB adapter through two fairly thick walls with very, very few connection issues. I also use my Nintendo DS online from upstairs using the same router and no problems. I think wireless connections have improved lately.
  12. Why not get a wireless router while you're at it and lose the 'huge ass cable'?
  13. Not very good with names, but if you want something less dull, I'd drop 'bands' from it right away. Start with Shetland, or anything else that identifies the area, then try combine it with 'live', 'music', 'scene', 'rock' *explores entire semantic field* - that kind of thing - until you find a couple of words that fit together.
  14. If all else fails you could freshly install windows (without formatting) put in the win xp disk, reboot, boot from cd, hit enter to go into setup (not r for repair) have it detect your windows installation, then follow instructions to repair. A restored windows will be installed (will look like a complete reinstallation) but your files (games, music, accounts) won't be lost - you'll need to install all windows updates again though.
  15. Thanks for testing that theory for us.
  16. You're promoting the less legal option now? o_O
  17. I've used http://www.dreamhost.com for a long time with no problems. Also the 1px alignment problem is down to resolution. If you imagine the pixels fitting within the pixels its not always possible to have something 'centred' - even if you adjust the image by 1px you might find that it will be out on another resolution.
  18. These days bandwidth is nothing to worry about. low cost plans can offer 1tb which is stupid much. Same with bandwidth, if you know where to look you can easily get 20GB which for the sake of music and pictures... well you probably won't even need 1GB at first. PS. your page header is centred in firefox and thus, does not work.
  19. Lammie, in case you're wondering where your post went, I moved it into the latest Post your Desktop thread. Incidentally for people reading this post - this thread is for gaming related wallpapers - not desktops or random wallpapers. Please remember to read the first post, not just jump right in
  20. I don't really understand the fuss about the legalities of downloading anime. I mean... the show goes on television. If I wanted to watch Naruto, I could tune into Cartoon Network - I wouldn't be giving the makers any money then, would I?
  21. Lexis. This is a lexus. But I agree with your point anyway :p
  22. Ewww.... Shorty's tip of the day, no frames anywhere, ever. My way of learning html was rather odd... I started a free website at 50megs.com - using a template. I then started editing the code from their online file manager - using a few tutorials to get a grip on what the tags meant. As I edited things, I saw what changed - and by trial and error I figured out how various things like table cells, images, links and colours worked. Because I started this way, I completely skipped out programs like Frontpage/Dreamweaver and became a rather stubbornly notepad-only coder. My real tips for starting a website though have to be: Start small Don't try to achieve too much at an early stage. If you can't code - don't try to make a huge gaming website and aim to have a full staff and hundreds of reviews and constant updates. Keep it fun, something for yourself - it can be small and still useful if it gives people something they don't get elsewhere. As your skills improve, branch out and try bigger ventures. Learn HTML first, then CSS, then you'll suddenly discover the huge advantages of PHP and databases some time in the future
  23. Shorty

    ....

Hope you told the police. A few gangrapings in prison'll learn 'em up good.
  24. Fairnuff, you never actually answered my question though - whether it's dubbed past ep 26 yet.
  25. Oh ya, that totally annoyed a lot of people, they had big members removing all their gallery, and people spamming the whole submissions area with yellow images for jark. Man that was such a big fuss >.>
