I have nothing against doing the odd bong here and there. It's about moderation. As long as you're totally aware of how drugs/alcohol can mess you up I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. Although I wouldn't touch anything more than a bit of weed. Last Friday night some guys came in to work, who had clearly just done a line or two of coke (they kept rubbing thier noses) and were basically bouncing off the walls. I served them about 8 shooters each and about 5 scotches over a period of an hour or so and they walked out of the pub looking as sober as a preist. One of them stood there nodding to the beat of the music chewing his cheek like it was piece of jerky. No doubt he felt it when he came down.

I've always fantasized about doing it to NIN's 'Closer'. The lyrics are obviously fitting but it's also got the right sound. But whenever the opportunity arises the last thing I'm thinking of is what music I ought to be listening to. Anything with a strong bassy beat tends to throw my rythm off. >_< Most of you aren't probably familiar with 'The Presets' (Aussie duo), but they have some wicked tracks for doing the deed to. Check any P2P client for 'Let's Go' and 'Girl and the Sea'. Ooh, and 'Angel' by Massive Attack. That's fecking brilliant.

Radiohead is by far and away the best music for getting stoned to. Following closely behind is Pink Floyd. Oh yeah, War Of The Worlds - the Jeff Wayne musical is quite terrifying when you're half cut, good retro music. But then again just about anything sounds good when you're whacked.

I used to hate Macs. I used to absolutely despise them. Then I was forced to use the iMacs in the deisgn suites at Uni. Slowly they grew on me. I don't care if my iMac isn't as gutsy as someone elses PC, the important thing is that the software and the hardware all run in beautiful harmony. I don't have to arse around with drivers and little upgrades like with XP all the time. And although it seems weird to begin with, once you start using OSX you can't go back to Windows.

Go outside, take a deep breath of air. Be thankful that you can do that.

OK, Powerbooks, although sleek and gutsy, are stupidly expensive. So unless you want to be portable, don't bother. I use Photoshop, InDesign, Freehand/Illustrator, Director all the time. I'm using a 2.0ghz iMac with 1gig RAM and it handles all that fine, I was just working on a 3metre by 30cm file in Photoshop (at 300dpi) and it wasn't too slow at all.........and that is one massive file. So a PowerPC is a bit overkill. But you'd definately want something with the guts of an 1.8/2.0ghz iMac.

I can't stand you people who seem hell bent on believing the moon landings were fake. Give me evidence that proves it was fake. Go on, I challenge thee! And the whole "the shadows were cast in different directions therefore there were multiple light sources" rant is a pile of crap. If you stop and think about perspective you'll realise that shadows do appear to converge on each other. True, partly. News media might not have been under strict control by the government, but at that time you were either a full blooded capitalist or a evil commie bastard. The things was, if you said that the moon landings were fake you'd probably be hung strung and quartered by a mob of commie fearing citizens. The space race had alot to do with showing the west that they were one-up on the soviets. Back then everyone was in a constant fear of all hell raining down on them in the form of ICBM's, and when you have a society in that state of fear, it's easy to manipulate them. With all that said and done, I still think the moon landings were legit. AAArgh! :shock:

Half Life was quite excellent. Went down hill from there. Mainly becuase I thought it was about terrorists that took over the facility, not weird lookin cockroach things. So it didn't really meet my expectations. Windwaker was quite awesome. As well as FFVI, great music!

I'm not at Diamond Sands yet, I forget the name of the level I'm at but it's where you have to use Backlash to demolish a shite load of buildings. Man Backlash sucks.

I think you'll find that your computer will always use more ram if it's available. According to the activity monitor on OSX, im using up 833meg out of 1gig, and all I've got open is Finder, Dashboard, Safari, MSN, and iTunes.
