I LOVE the Rumble, even if it’s let me down on too many occasions. I think Bayley is a strong guess. I can’t see anyone else winning it (Becky Lynch & Bianca seem too obvious) unless Sasha Banks / Mercedes Mone makes a surprise return! I’d love to see Mickie James enter again and get a decent showing. I agree about the Men’s. There aren’t a lot of contenders, but those they have are difficult to pick from. CM Punk seems a strong bet, but would they trust him to headline Wrestlemania when he hasn’t yet had a televised match since returning? Cody again is almost too obvious at this point. Drew is doing some fantastic character work, but he & Cody have both lost in their title matches. Gunther’s had one of the strongest bookings in WWE. After his recent good promo with Seth, is that WWE fooling us? Finally, could we see The Rock enter? He doesn’t need the Rumble to earn his shot though…. Tough to call, but that’s exciting! I’m guessing CM Punk but can’t wait to see this. Oh, and really hoping Kofi nails his spot this year!

Decided not to go with Wolverine and instead start filling my earlier Uncanny X-Men gaps. I should only need volumes 1-4 as after that the stories are mostly collected in event omnis I already own like Mutant Massacre so volume 5 onwards would just be double dipping for me. Only vol 3 in print at the moment but I'm sure it won't take long for re-releases of the rest again.

War Gods might be a bit crap as a competitive fighter, but I do really like its presentation. The announcer voice is great, and the game oozes that OTT mid-90s Midway arcade style. It's cheesy in a good way, and it certainly entertains; even if it's all a bit skin deep. Midway presents... WAR GODS!! Ultimately a good port of a fairly middling arcade fighter. Not Midway's best game in the arcades to begin with, but it's part of a string of quality Midway arcade ports to hit the platform over its lifetime; and it's at least worth watching on Youtube for its carnie-esc personality.

War Gods NA release: 20th May 1997 PAL release: 28th November 1997 JP release: N/A Developer: Eurocom Publisher: Midway (US) / GT Interactive (PAL) N64 Magazine Score: 46% Mortal Kombat in 3D was the big advertising for War Gods, with lots and lots of emphasis on the 3D. War Gods does not feel like a 3D game at all, though, with “3D” movement being relegated to holding a button and just being nothing more than a basic dodge. In terms of fighting, War Gods is the kind of game that I can do alright at. This is probably a bad sign for the game, as I’m dreadful at combinations and I’m what people call a “button masher”. I found a few cheap tricks that seemed to work to get through the game. Each character seems to have an annoying “trap” move. Characters make or break a game like this and War Gods has such an immensely dull cast. For the most part, they’re loosely based on ransom cultural gods or stereotypes and have none of their own personality, with a robot and a few scantily clad women thrown in. None of the characters were someone I actually wanted to play as. War Gods is also incredibly light on modes. You start, pick a character then fight through all the other characters. Player 2 can take over these characters and that’s it. There’s no training or practice – there’s not even a versus mode where player 2 can choose their character. It’s an extremely bare bones arcade port of an extremely boring game. Remake or Remaster? Perhaps throw it in as a bonus in a Mortal Kombat collection? Official ways to get the game. There is no official way to get War Gods.

The Road to Wreslmania if usually always the best part of the year and this looks to be shaping up to be another great run in. Bring it on.

I didn't mind the US one. At least there was a bit of personality there. The first Australian one was great. The traitors in that season were awesome. Our one feels rather vanilla compared. They're starting to liven up a little though but honestly, it's blatantly obvious who the traitors would be apart from Harry and the vet. Paul is non-stop smirking and smarmy. Not a big fan.

So I'm late to the party and I haven't read a thing as I've only started watching it. The US one has kind of taken over for me and the new Australian one is a bit meh. I'm hoping our one gets better because they're bland and too friendly at the moment and it's very petty. Like "I think you're a traitor because you breathe oxygen and that's a red flag"...come on! Although it needs to be said that the editing in the show is a bit weird. Like I'm on episode 3 and someone is getting voted off and before they reveal who they are, they end the episode on the cliffhanger...why? We know their alliances, we know they're getting booted off...what's the cliffhanger for?

Let's just go with us being too high class and dignified for that to amuse us. Yeah, he'll believe that. Tee hee, Isaac gave Garet a Hard Nut!

When you play with these sets, just what are you doing with them?

You say that, but hasn't Yoshimitsu been a thing in Tekken since the start? A guy running around with a sharp pointy thing isn't exactly new territory. That said, Tifa is a better fit for the game, but that's the difference between Harada and Sakurai. Because I bet Square pushed for Lightning as the Smash rep back on the 3DS/WiiU entry, but Sakurai has the clout to negotiate the character he would prefer and Square would have to compromise, because Smash is that big, and the advertising you get from that is too beneficial to ignore. Of course, I have no proof of that happening, but it wouldn't surprise me.
