The Power Rangers are fecking awesome. The original series was pure class.

I once got the Shogun Zord or something because it was huge in the series, but they made the toy one smaller so it was much smaller than my friend's Ninja Zord. His Zord always smacked mine

I'm reading Wikipedia now on the Power Rangers... I really need to download some of these episodes

I thought power rangers was shite from the very beginning, maybe I'm too old for it to be a kitch reminder of my childhood.

Why did they always wait for the monster to grow from 6ft to 60ft before busting out their giant mega robot? Why not just turn up in the mega-power-super-zord, squish it and go for a pint instead of fannying around kung-fu style in spandex for 10 minutes first?

I never owned any of the merchandise (except a load of Pogs), but I really loved Power Rangers when I was in Year 6 and 7. I loved the first few series, but grew out of it and lost interest once it all changed after series 3. I didn't think the film was up to much either, to be honest.

It was really interesting to read on Wikipedia about how the series developed after I stopped watching, though. It's funny to see how long they kept Bulk and Skull in the series - they were class. :)

It's interesting how much of it they took straight from the Japanese show, too. I remember being confused about why Rita was dubbed when I used to watch it - now I know.

Anyone remember VR Troopers? Now that was awful.

EDIT: Okay, the CGI was not so hot
To be fair that movie was produced about 12 years ago, the CGI was not so bad at the time, I remember being impressed. The only thing I would've preffered in that movie would've been to see the original zords.

Before the movie came out, I remember seeing footage of the black ranger in the movie costume fighting putties. This scene never made it into the movie, and I've since come to wonder if I ever really saw it. At the time I was totally excited and watched the show it was aired on every week, but it never appeared again. Does anyone else recall this, or know where to look for it?

I think the bad guy died in different ways in the cinema movie, and the home video movie. But I think now power rangers is just a bit tired. Thats probably why so many people leave the show so they have to come up with exaggerated story lines.

I really am supprised nobody has mentioned how hot Kimberly was.

Who was hotter then, Kimberley ( original Pink Ranger ) or Cat ( the 2nd Pink Ranger ). Kimberley all the way for me!

Plus, we were all thinking it. ;)

I think this has already been explained. It shocked me when I first heard it. Power Rangers is footage from the japanese show sentai. Sentai changes Rangers/Zords every year/season. The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had a three season run. They made the most of what we loved back then as best they could. After that they had to change the rangers and the theme. So they aren't just bleeding the idea into different ways, the American show has to follow the Japanese Sentai to get footage for the zords and ranger battles.

I tried some of the different series, I didn't find it all that bad. Can I suggest to everyone to try and watch the episode "Forever Red" Its an all American Episode and was made for fans.

Also http://www.rangercentral.com/main-database.htm Is great to check up on all the old toys and timelines. :)

Watching that video of the Power Rangers movie... it just... it just hurts.

For anyone wondering, there's a reason Green Ranger "left" the series. In the Japanese series he actually died or something. This meant there was no more footage of Green Ranger, hence why Tommy said his goodbyes and got that lucky kiss with Kimberly we all wanted so much.

The entire Japanese episode with Green Ranger's death is here.

Enjoy your childhoods being butchered.

Wow, look what I found.

This could be rulebreaking, but the entire Power Rangers Movie is up on YouTube for anyone interested in killing their eyes.

Power Rangers Movie Part 1

The rest of the parts can be found, somewhat jumbled up, on the right side of the video in that scroll section. Go forth, fans, go forth and enjoy (suffer).

I think now would be a good time to saythat I've got the Power Rangers soundtrack... I've never listened to it though.

I bought the cassette of the main theme tune when they released it. I wonder where in the charts that got.
