I played the PS2 version last night at a friend's and while I was skeptical about it at first, I really had a blast with it! The game is very realistic from the battlefront point of view. And I'm talking about the PS2 here. True, those old screens from COD "Wii" that are on first pages of this topic seem to me to be PS2 screens...

This...

erm...

call-of-duty-3-20060929051916165.jpg

...is exactly what I saw last night on the PS2.

But the bottom line is the game was very intense. I had played COD2 at stores, but never like this, so maybe it's just the fact that I'm new to the series, but I was very pleased. I had never thought of getting this for the Wii, but after playing last night I became interested and have been looking at it. But to tell the truth I think it might be the better choice to just pass on this one and wait for the next instalment in the series.

just ordered this game for the 360. If i finish it in time i will proabbly trade it for the Wii version, just for the different control scheme.

TBH i dont think theres that much wrong with that image above.

I don't think Ubi has made much effort in making the graphics beyond Cube CoD 2, and they're right in doing so, as they're offering an immersive Wii exclusive. The level design and controls are more important if your development schedule is so short.

Wow, that trailer was immense. That made me really want to get it it now!

Red Steel or this...

Moria our quest to find a good fps looked impossible at first becuase all three were crap. Now red steel and COD have come up with the goods. Far cry please carry on sucking.

Hopefully one of them will get delayed so we dont have a choice. :heh:

lol I hope so to.

On a side note I remember one drunken night I was commenting about wanting to hit nazis in the face with a wii mote gesture on this forum. It looks like my dream has come true. Lovely stuff.

That's one sweet trailer

the guy does a great job of conveying the emotions I assume one would have in a war situation like that. And there's a lot of game footage too instead of focusing mainly on the actors like some other commercials have done.

The idea of holding the nunchuck as if it were two sides of a steering wheel (if that indeed is what he is doing) is rather nice. At least they seem to have had a good think about Wiimote usage.

Well, technically Haden, you wouldn't be shooting nazis, seeing as polygonal constructs don't tend to have personal/ religious/ political beliefs, so far as I'm aware. Secondly, let's imagine, for a second that they do; a great deal of the Germans fighting in the war were conscripts, they had no say in the matter and I doubt that a nations population of men could be so single minded in their beliefs as to all be typical jew hating fascists, regardless of the era.

Yes, I know that was pointless, but seeing as I have a chemistry test tomorrow, that could potentially determine whether I stay in school, I am of course doing anything but revising for it. Infact, this should be in the Meaningless post thread. Tally ho. Or something.

Well, other than the arms and hands I don't think there's much wrong either. But the point was I saw that on a PS2 and Wii can make so much better.

This looks better than Red Steel at the mo. I'm sure I've seen that image above from the Wii version over on ign and it looked a good deal better than that. The faces particulaly.

I have to agree it does look better than Red Steel, at first I wanted Red Steel as it looks fresh and was of course built from the ground up for Wii, but now I'm swaying towards Call of Duty as it just looks so atmoshrepical and engrossing. I posted further back in this thread a movie where your near a church and a plane comes gunning down towards you shooting at the ground and turf is flying everywhere, it just looks so incredible.

In the end I will probably pick up both. I'll get rid of the 360 version when i complete it just for the different control scheme.

It would make it more immersive playing with the wiimote.

Does anyone have any control problems with COD3? Sometimes the game will just stop responding. Like the camera will just start slowly spinning around and no buttons on the controller will respond. This has happened several times and I thought maybe my batteries were going, but I had 2 bars and it worked fine in other games...maybe COD demands alot of battery power?
