Platty Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 No way Owen is past it my friend. I hope we dont sign him He will only be good at a mid table team now. Im hoping for Ajax's Klaas Jun Huntelaar who is just like Ruud or maybe Torres but im not sure about the spanish.... look at Reyes and how he turned out. and platty think back to are central midfield when we had nicky butt, paul scholes & roy keane - wasnt too many people complaining back in them days Butt only really got games when Keane was injured tho. Hence why he left for Newcastle to get more first team football.
gmac Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 plus Carrick and Hargreaves together are still not as good as one fully fit Roy Keane at his peak
Ant-Shimmin Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 plus Carrick and Hargreaves together are still not as good as one fully fit Roy Keane at his peak Seconded...
UziT Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Funny how he appears just after they win the FA Cup isn't it? He'll be out in his Chelsea shirt this week telling everyone how great his team is. He'll have forgotten all about it in a few weeks time, only to pop up again next time they get to a final... only Chelsea to get beaten and he'll end up saying I never liked them anyways!
Platty Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 My ticket for the England vs Brazil match came today! half opened I might add. Good job I have an honest postman! First game at Wembley for me!! (would have been at FA Cup final but my sister booked her wedding on the 19th didnt she! lol)
gmac Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 following on from this match attendance thing, I've been thinking about some of the goals I've seen in person at Celtic Park and realised there has been a fair few stormers Celtic v Rangers (several occasions) Henrik Larsson (goal 4 in the 6-2 game) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLbsoPUrSy4 Paul Lambert (new year derby 98) Chris Sutton - Alan Thompson - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mp5HPolugiI Celtic vs Liverpool '97 game - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGBOB-n8Tk4 McNamara and McManamans goals (the other 2 weren't bad either ) Hartson from '03 - other European games Nakamura v Man Utd - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g2jEkt_VGs
Ellmeister Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Yer I realised I was talking crap >_< I blame the neurofen. I give up talking nonsense.
Ant-Shimmin Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 My ticket for the England vs Brazil match came today! half opened I might add. Good job I have an honest postman! First game at Wembley for me!! (would have been at FA Cup final but my sister booked her wedding on the 19th didnt she! lol) Fair Play, Hope you enjoy it Hope Liverpool can get their next season, but we should of been there last had they not fannyed around the building of it...
Happenstance Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Just ready the BBC Sport site, apparently Benitez is planning on making wholesale changes to the Liverpool squad over the summer. Even if we do manage to win the Champions League. Wonder who it'll be that gets the chop.

Ant-Shimmin Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Celtic vs Liverpool '97 game - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGBOB-n8Tk4 McNamara and McManamans goals (the other 2 weren't bad either All I remember of going to that game was being twatted by some fat bastard infront of me :P Anyway, some of the best goals that stuck out for me, of games I have been to Gerrard v Villa '06 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgYuN4qec_k Owen v Arsenal FA Cup...My Personal Best Game Ever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFN9yVeUjwg Riise v United'01 ______________________________________________________ Just found this as well, a build up the final, Can't Fucking Wait Now, When I walk around, flags are out etc, It's buzzing.. The Road to Athens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgtJwf4dK1A
Happenstance Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I think Kewell deserves to stay, I know hes been injured all season but from what I saw of him in the last few games he was looking really promising. Personally id like to see Bellamy and Sissoko go.

nekunando Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 ..not necessarily who I would like to see go, but I think these players will be on their way out: Bellamy Zenden Hyppia Alonso or Sissoko (though I wouldn't really like to see either go) Cisse Fowler is obviously already going, as we know.. I think (and hope) Kewell will stay The Road to Athens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgtJwf4dK1A ..and bits of that made the hairs on my neck stand up (the last couple of minutes or so mainly!)
mike-zim Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Players leaving liverpool will be Fowler ( unfortunately ) Zenden Hypia Gonzalez (as part of a player + cash) Belemy Alonso (so gerrard can play center mid) Cisse Players who i want to stay but might go: Kewell Sisoko Crouch Garcia
Fields Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Team for next season? Kuyt Eto'o Alonso Gerrard Mascherano Riise Alves Carragher Agger Milito Reina
khilafah Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I can't see Eto'o leaving Barcelona. Even if they decided too sell it would cost £30m minimum. can you honestly see Rafa Benitez paying that? with that Lucas guy signing I wouldnt be suprised if Sissoko or Alonso leaves. Sissoko could go Juve, Juve want Alou Diarra from Lyon (ex Liverpool) also though so if they get him they will drop interest in Muhammed. If Alonso doesnt start tomorrow maybe he will start wondering where his future lies??
Fields Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Yeah, in terms of central midfielders we now have Gerrard, Mascherano, Alsonso, Sissoko, Zenden, and Lucas. I can see Zenden then one of either Alonso or Sissoko leaving in the summer. I expect Bellamy to leave, unfortunately, and Gonzalez could return to Spain.
Fresh Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Blues seal Sidwell signing Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell. Sidwell will join The Blues on a free transfer following the expiry of his Royals contract on 1st July. Jose Mourinho has always been in the box seat to land the former Arsenal trainee, who also interested Newcastle. Sidwell passed a Chelsea medical this week and will now return to Stamford Bridge for pre-season training at the beginning of July. Sidwell's signing could be the first of three new faces at Chelsea this summer. Chief executive Peter Kenyon revealed recently that the club are also in the market for a defender and a striker. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=468060&CPID=8&clid=8&lid=4161&title=Blues+seal+Sidwell+signing
Daft Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 do chelsea really need another midfielder??? i can see sidwell being scott parker all over again tbh... The African cup of Nations means we lose Essien and Mikel.
Noodleman Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Suposadly West Ham offered him more money then Chelsea did
Ramar Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 How many bench warmers does it take for these footballers to realise signing for Chelsea isn't a good thing. Too many potential careers have gone on hold or gone AWOL thanks to excessive buying.
gmac Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Chelsea ran out of bench warmers towards the end of the season though
Platty Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Babyshambles have won the soccer six tournament at Upton Park with Pete Doherty scoring the winning goal in the final and picking up the player of the tournament award For more: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/funny_old_game/6676157.stm For the scores of the group & knockout stages click here: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=114132938&blogID=267344886&MyToken=ea0a7128-dae6-49c8-96c3-44693ae764f4
