Dyson Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I can see him arriving on his motorcycle. Quoted because you stole what I was going to say :P
Phube Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 There is the happy middle ground you know? It can be fun without randomly dying every 2 mins because somebody got *insert uber cool insanely powerful power up here* My objection is it ending up like Double Dash, where you can spend a whole race in 1st just to get knocked back to last only meters before the line because of some silly power up like a Chain Chomp or Blue Shell Again... that's MarioKart for you... if you want to win on skill alone, buy GT, Forza or any other 'driving sim' game!!
Jonnas Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I just realized. Why does Lucas travel around in a Mr.Saturn tea table?
DomJcg Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I just realized. Why does Lucas travel around in a Mr.Saturn tea table? why does the chimera have an off button on his back and a bird for a brain? its a game?
McPhee Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Again... that's MarioKart for you... if you want to win on skill alone, buy GT, Forza or any other 'driving sim' game!! No, that was Double Dash. Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart DS were no where near as bad. Im hardly the only person who thought that the number of weapons and they're power ruined and removed all need for skill from Double Dash. GT, Forza etc are nothing like Mario Kart, it is unique. The skill is in manipulating you're opponents, dodging weapons etc rather than driving skill. This is fun. Getting hit by a super-powerful weapon that cannot be dodged is on the other hand, not...
Cube Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 No, that was Double Dash. Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart DS were no where near as bad. I found 64 to be the worst for that.
McPhee Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I found 64 to be the worst for that. Maybe you're right, not played 64 in a good 6 years! The horror of Double Dash is still fresh in my mind...
Kurtle Squad Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 No, that was Double Dash. Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart DS were no where near as bad. There is skill in Double Dash; we once had a runthrough on every track, there were 6 of us, loser 2 come off for the others to play. I was playing for all but the last track, and was the person who had played the game most (others weren't far off me in experience I don't think either). Plus, part of the strategy in many Kart racers is holding back a bit to get good weapons. I found 64 to be the worst for that. Na...the red shells are too cack. 64 has to be the most "fair" when it comes to weapons. I think DS is the worst when it comes to "skill"...snaking is just stupid, and I'm a CTR guy, powersliding contantly on that (though CTR can be a right wang at giving u shite weapons etc). Mario Kart is supposed to be open to everyone, for the n00bs and "pros" to be able to play side by side anyway, and the new guys WILL do more poorly than the experienced (usually). If you want a weaponless racer; then look somewhere more boring. Or move over to Mario Party 8's Kart minigame or scooter races......Or F-Zero...and some others:heh: Anyway: Smash Bros.... I REALLY hope to be able to add your own music, there's pleanty of music just waiting to be used in a Smash Bros. game on my PC, inc: Naruto tewnz!!! Streets of Rage Remixes Street Fighter I think I might have Retro Studio's ver of the Ridley music too, much better than the Brawl one.
Dante Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Were going off topic here. Super Mario Kart is better than Mario Kart 64.
arab_freak Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Anyway: Smash Bros.... Wasn't there an update saying you could use tracks from your SD Card?
Dante Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Wasn't there an update saying you could use tracks from your SD Card? Nope arab_freak.
Jonnas Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Wasn't there an update saying you could use tracks from your SD Card? No. The only music-related update in that matter said: "We worked REALLY hard to give you dozens of great songs and remixes. Please, enjoy our work." I'd say chances of using our tracks are pretty slim.
triforcemario Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Pokemon I want to see in it: Mudkip so i herd u liek mudkips?
Hellfire Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Were going off topic here.Super Mario Kart is better than Mario Kart 64. I disagree as much as I love and loved SMK, now it's the most unplayable of all.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Guys, wouldn't it be better to create a "What Mario Kart game is better?" thread? It's an interesting topic, but this is the Smash Bros. Brawl thread after all.
Dante Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 IGN's Smash It Up! - The Capcom Five "That's fair enough. But we haven't yet spent time speculating on which company will get the third third-party spot, or the fourth, or the fifth – you can go ahead and let go of the "Sakurai said only 1-2 more third-party spots" argument right now, because that's ridiculously outdated news. We know there are going to be more than that – count on it – so we're going to start pulling back the curtain on who it could be from a variety of possible companies."
Cube Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 We know there are going to be more than that – count on it It sounds like IGN are doing nothing more than speculating there.
Kurtle Squad Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I think there will be 5 3rd party characters and 35 Nintendo characters now. Megaman's almost guaranteed now surely?!....He/They has/have appeared more times on a Nintendo console than Mario...well; not quite, but... Oh yeah; I forgot about my other Link idea instead of WW Link; where it's Young Link, but instead of having all of Link's moves, he uses his masks.
Gatoman Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Oh yeah; I forgot about my other Link idea instead of WW Link; where it's Young Link, but instead of having all of Link's moves, he uses his masks. good idea, but i can't really grasp it BTW if there's any 3rd party characters i wnat it's megaman, Geno and Felix, and don't forget lucario!!
Serebii Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I really dont want any more 3rd party characters. Smash Bros is meant to be a Nintendo Free-for-all. Any more characters that arent will just ruin its soul
Jonnas Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I really dont want any more 3rd party characters. Smash Bros is meant to be a Nintendo Free-for-all. Any more characters that arent will just ruin its soul In my opinion, SSB is supposed to be different videogame characters from different universes participating in a fighting game. It is also a nostalgia museum. Therefore, third-party characters can actually improve the game. The nostalgia museum is not complete without characters like Sonic. Different views, I guess.
Gatoman Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I really dont want any more 3rd party characters. Smash Bros is meant to be a Nintendo Free-for-all. Any more characters that arent will just ruin its soul well yea, that's why i want megaman or geno, they both have connections to nintendo, but i agree that they shouldn't add character that have nothing to do with nintendo like crash or spyro (yes i know they both had a gameboy game but c'mon, it's like sayin' Sora or cloud need to be there because they were in COM)
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Cool updates on the Dojo today - the Fire Emblem music theme and a Subspace Emissary video with Diddy Kong and Fox. It's cool that they show some of Fox's moves in the clip.
