Owen Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 If I remember correctly the 23 inch version is not HD, the 26 model is the cheapest HD set I thought that, but it is HD Ready for gaming. It's just not HD Ready for a TV Signal, so i've read. Could be wrong, all of the sites i've gone on have stated it's HD Ready though, the cheapest i've found is £467.99, and if i can, i reckon i'll get that, i don't know if it's only for businesses though.... I only want HD for gaming, i don't watch TV in my study.
Nintenchris Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 If I remember correctly the 23 inch version is not HD, the 26 model is the cheapest HD set Doh! http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/television/tftlcd/le23t51bxxeu.asp Can someone tell me what the diffrence is between HDTV Ready and HD Ready?
Android18a Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I got a 26" HDTV by Acer from Misco for £530. No composite input, so you'll need a VGA cable, but for the price the picture is incredible. The High-Res modes of 360 work wonderfully and it's pin-sharp. I can't knock it at all.
Bren Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 i got a tv for 480, with HD Composite cable, VGA, and is 27", only bad problem is no HDMI. Its gud picture aswell

Jordan88 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 16th now is it?That's going to piss off a lot of people. yeah it says out now on there website but nowhere had the mag
scubahood Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 The magazine was due out today but OXM obivously weren't aware that Menzies don't deliver magazines on a Monday so expect to see it in stores tomorrow
Owen Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Doh! http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/television/tftlcd/le23t51bxxeu.asp Can someone tell me what the diffrence is between HDTV Ready and HD Ready? I think, HD Ready is for the games to be viewed in High Defination only HDTV is to view TV channels in High Defination and games. I may be wrong. I just want a HD ready one, as they are cheaper!
Matt Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Yeh, if it's not HDTV Ready, you'd need a transformer thing to watch HD TV through it. 360 doesn't need one of these, though.
CooInTheZoo Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 haha i bet my mother is out at tesco's now looking for OXM while grabbing the bread and milk. bastards :p anyone want a PD0 game tonight?
Owen Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Ok, i definately can get a 23'' Samsung LCD. Anyone know a place where i can buy one first thing tomorrow for £500 or less and it's in stock? Really need your help! I have found quite a few places but i have never heard or used them before, i would like a well-known place. Play.com would of been my best bet, but they are still awaiting stock... I never knew these damn tv were so popular!
Jon Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 The difference between HD ready and HDTV ready is that to be HDTV ready a TV must contain a digital connect (hdmi, dvi) and HDCP. HDCP is a type of protection that communicates with the source equipment to stop piracy.
Meik Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I just got 438,635 on Geometry Wars, I was so close to that shitty half million medal. Screw the other games on the 360, i'm hopelessly addicted to this.
Guest Jordan Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I'm screwed, i suck at Hexic and Kameo A rankings are bloody impossible. I'll be working towards getting those final few fruits during the week though! Gotta get to 800 or so before Ridge Racer 6/DoA4 will be out.
rokhed00 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Gotta get to 800 or so before Ridge Racer 6/DoA4 will be out. No worries, you've still got a week and a half before RR6, and almost a month and a half before DoA4.
Guest Jordan Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 No worries, you've still got a week and a half before RR6, and almost a month and a half before DoA4. I thought DoA was out the same day as RR6? O_o
rokhed00 Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I thought DoA was out the same day as RR6? O_o It was, but last I heard has been put back to February 24th.
Jon Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 It was, but last I heard has been put back to February 24th. Gameplay still has it listed as the 20th of January

HDCP is a type of protection that communicates with the source equipment to stop piracy. Right, also would it be best to use a VGA cable or is the HD cable which comes with your Xbox360 better, in your opinion? I didn't even know about the VGA cable before Meik mentioned it, can the 23'' Samsung use this? The 'response time' of the tv is important as well isn't it? One Samsung 23'' i saw had a response time of <12ms is that good? I'm SO SO confused! I know i have to set the tv/xbox360 at 720p to get the best pic, i don't know which cable is best to use, although the VGA is sold out everywhere isn't it? Meik was that you who posted a pic of there Samsung earlier in this thread or someone else? I don't want to spend £500 and not notice any difference in picture, it's pretty worrying! I don't want to be dissapointed.
1UP Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Decided I'm going to sell cod2 once i've finished the game (1000 gamerpoints)... can't be arsed to wait for the multiplayer and I doubt i'd play it as much as PD0 and pgr3..
Jon Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 It doesnt really matter if you use VGA or the ones that come with the 360, both are analogue connections and are pretty similar. The response time is also ok, not the best but you shouldnt get any ghosting.
