lostprophetpunk Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Saw 'The Wolfman' a few days ago. I would rate it 3 or 4 out of 10. I didn't find it scary, in fact I laughed at several points during the movie.
Ashley Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Where The Wild Things Are I want that outfit! It looks comfy. I like films like this; some kid's crazy imagination writ large. Plus it got quite dark at times. All in all, enjoyable.
Razz Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 A Single Man I think I was expecting too much, so was let down a little, but only by a smidgen. I really loved the cinematography of it all, a very visually striking film. Tom Ford did a great job and I love the desaturation techniques, they really gave it some extra depth. Surprisingly funny, quite moving, surreal and overall quite a downer in some respects, but then there's a sense of closure at the end as well. I'm gonna go with 8.9/10 because it's just hanging on the edge of 9.
Paj! Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 American Beauty My review. Roll me into a ditch so I can finally rest my head. It's so pregnant.

Ellmeister Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Whilst I agree, I wish you had said it rather than me having to turn off my music just to hear what she's blabbering about. A simple sentence rather than an implicit message hidden in a song lyric or whatever wouldn't go awry, maybe just once in your lifetime.

I'm pretty sure you'd have complained anyway if I'd written "Stunned". What's the lesser, of two...evils...?
Ellmeister Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I'm currently trying to listen to Phoenix and was quite engrossed until I watched the youtube video, so this once I would have preferred reading it and then pffffting at my own pleasure. I think I'm just jealous. I want someone to speak mystic lingo with.
chairdriver Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I think I'm just jealous. I want someone to speak mystic lingo with. It's easy if you listen to stunning music, and think like we'd think.
Ellmeister Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I can't. I was depraved from such stunning music as a child and grew up learning odd sorts. Phoenix is a start? Besides, I cannot remember lyrics for shit. Shall have to be contempt with simply seething at your annoying secretive messages.
Paj! Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 It's just word/image association to real life humour or something like that. I don't think many other people do it... Though Phoenix do deserve one's full attention. I listened to their recent album the other day, my hearbeat beat me senselessly.
Molly Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Shall have to be contempt with simply seething at your annoying secretive messages. Was this on purpose? Because I enjoyed it, if it was!
Ellmeister Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Was this on purpose? Because I enjoyed it, if it was! I'm sorry to let you down, but I believe content was my true intention. If you are viewing it as though I was treating the Chair Drive Ah couple in a derogatory manner then I didn't mean it as so. Other than that I don't quite know what you meant! :p
Paj! Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I think she was saying it was a fun play on words. It was.
Molly Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Ah nevermind. I'll just throw all my contempt on them! And love, of course.
Ellmeister Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Phoenix is changing me already, I'll wake up referencing everything to lyrics tomorrow morning, just you wait! My subconscious is screaming at me to breach out into the lyrical world. Not quite sure about the odd pictures you choose to show us though. Might leave that to you.
Paj! Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Might leave that to you. She's a slut and she knows it.

Paj! Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I don't want to be infracted, I Think That I Would Die. You inciteful bAStard!
chairdriver Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 To be fair, my pic was directly relevant. I was thinking and portraying "That was a filthy contrived attempt at being great."
ipaul Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 *Must resist urge to spam another thread with pictures of Ronald Regan and Bjork. ...Benjamin Button. I really enjoyed this. I'm not really sure how qualified I am to judge it as I have not read the book, but I thought the whole film was great. The concept was interesting, there were many varied characters, the backwards ageing thing was executed very well. Has it's similarities to Forest Gump of course, but I think I definitely prefer this film. I think they could have perhaps played around with people's reactions to Benjamin and his strange state of being a bit more - it felt like there should have been a little more drama where people were like 'Oh he ages backwards. ok'. But it wasn't a major complaint for me. It was also oddly humorous at times - the lightning springs to mind. One of the best films I have seen in a while. 8.5/10
Paj! Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 To be fair, my pic was directly relevant. I was thinking and portraying "That was a filthy contrived attempt at being great." Allthough genuinely the first stunning song that came on shuffle, so...
Ashley Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I can't. I was depraved from such stunning music as a child and grew up learning odd sorts. You like Brand New. That's literally stunning. Anyway. FILMS PEOPLE
lostprophetpunk Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Pulp Fiction What can I say...10/10. This is such a classic film and I had to learn about a scene in film studies. I quote "Now that is a tasty burger!".
