drahkon Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) Stolen from Wikipedia: Quote Severance is an American science fiction psychological thriller television series created by Dan Erickson, and executive produced and primarily directed by Ben Stiller. It stars Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. The plot follows Mark Scout (Adam Scott), an employee of the fictional corporation Lumon Industries who agrees to a "severance" program in which his non-work memories are separated from his work memories. If you've read my posts in that TV thread, you know how much I love this show. Basically everything about it is my jam. And it consistently gets better and better. I've watched the first season 6 times now and the currently available 3 episodes of the second season 3 times each. Speaking of: S2E3 is insane. I don't want to spoil anything, but I did not expect the story beats to be shown this early How do I go about making spoiler tags work? Edited February 1 by drahkon 2 1
Julius Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) 1 hour ago, drahkon said: How do I go about making spoiler tags work? At the moment I think you have a few options: For one-liner/single paragraph spoilers with no line breaks: Use the old BBCode of [ SPOILER ] and [ / SPOILER ] like so: For multiple lines/paragraphs with line breaks: - copy a spoiler tag from an existing post. When I do this on mobile I have to edit an existing post of mine and then awkwardly highlight the text before the spoiler tag, the spoiler tag itself, and the text immediately following, copy it all > paste it > then remove the text before, in, and after the spoiler tag. It's a bit easier on PC I find where you can just copy the spoiler tag box itself. - leave the spoiler until the end of the post and use the good old [ SPOILER ] and [ / SPOILER] (okay, so apparently I can't just leave a space after the / as I've just learned, which has spawned its own spoiler tag ). I say to leave it until the end of the post because otherwise it seems to swallow up everything you type after the /spoiler code. EDIT: just [ SPOILER ] (no spaces) will suffice to create a spoiler tag apparently I'd probably also suggest titling the spoilers with text ahead of the spoiler tag itself given that previous spoiler titles have gone missing and there's seemingly not a way to add them now – revisited some old threads recently and seeing spoiler tags can be a bit confusing to the point I end up dodging almost all of them. I want to get around to watching Severance at some point, but it's pretty rare that I watch shows while they release -- I'd typically rather wait until it's all over and digest it all in one go. We'll see, though, you guys have been talking about Severance S2 enough that it's got to be worth keeping up with, never mind the crazy number of rewatches you mention! Edited February 1 by Julius 1
Ashley Posted February 1 Posted February 1 God I still need to sort out spoiler tags. My weekends are so packed at the moment 😭 2

Severance is one of the best examples of a "water-cooler show". There's so much to discover during an episode, you can spend the entire week until the next one reading about theories I'm currently waiting for a friend to gimme her impressions of the most recent episode. COME ONE, WATCH IT!
Cube Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Apple TV is a strange void where you see mention of it yet nobody seems to ever talk about it. I didn't even realise it was available in the UK until recently (I don't have any Apple devices, so I can't access it anyway).

You can get free trials up the wazoo for Apple TV (if you're willing to put in the effort) and watch the shows via a browser. There are...other...ways to watch shows, too, of course.
Will Posted February 3 Posted February 3 We got on to Severance after we finished Silo. Been quite enjoying it but now that we're up to date it's a bit of a pain having to wait for each new episode. I really love the premise of the show but can't help but think everything will end up being something of a disappointment when we find out what is actually going on.

Smart TVs Firesticks Xbox and PlayStation all offer the Apple TV experience without an Apple device. And yeah, Apple TV has some great shows and is somehow never talked about. It is odd
drahkon Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 This show is relentless. Fuck me, we're not even halfway through season 2...
drahkon Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Watched the current episode again last night. The acting on display is impeccable. Britt Lower and John Turturro are too good.
Nolan Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) So fucking good. There is so much happening in each episode and it doesn’t even feel rushed or truncated. Each moment gets the amount of time necessary. I really need to force everyone else I know to watch but most people don’t have AppleTV Edited February 8 by Nolan
Nolan Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Did this episode really open with The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald? I'm halfway through but thats still my main (not really) takeaway because I’m dumb
