Mr. Bananagrabber Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 It's closing down. So all hardware has 70% off (PSP's for 30 quid!) and software has 30% off. Run down there before it's all gone. Go. Now. EDIT- OMG I put it in the wrong forum ROFL.
Caris Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 oooooo, cheers for that, is this the one in Newcastle by any chance :P
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 oooooo, cheers for that, is this the one in Newcastle by any chance :P Why yes. Yes there is.
Mr. Bananagrabber Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 are their many PSP's? Caris get me one Not many. I'll bet it will be sold out by the time I finish this scentence.
Colin Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 So all hardware has 70% off (PSP's for 30 quid!) Did you actually see these prices with your own eyes by anychance? A psp for £30 seems hard to believe, but if it's the case then I'm going to drive out to find my nearest MVC.
Sarka Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 If anyone happens to like me and see's a spare PSP for £30, please pick it up, and give it to me!! I'd pay £40! Or you could besmart and sell it on the bargains board...
Nintenchris Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Wonder why there site is still selling stuff at normal prices?
The3rdChildren Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Lucky me. The MVC in my town closed down a while ago. All the stock is being sold super cheap by some company who seem to have bought them out. Picked up the X-Files movie score CD for £2 today. Win.
Locky Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Dammit...there's no MVC in norwich Ohhh, are you from Norwich too?! I think the nearest one to us in East Anglia is in Bury St Edmunds unfortunately.
Platty Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I doubt they would sell PSP's for £30...and anyway even if they did there would be none left as the managers and staff would buy them all and sell them on themselves....well i know i would. I went into my local MVC the other day and it was like a boot sale. They didnt have much left only some CD's and DVD's really.

I've just done some investigating, and the retailer Music Zone bought about half of MVC's stores at the beginning of this month and then relaunched them as Music Zone stores on the 9th. But they also purchased the other stores, but these stores were under review until they knew if it was worth keeping them. And I agree about staff buying the psp's if they were selling them for £30. I'm going to take a de-tour to the Bexleyheath store tomorrow morning before college and try my luck.
Oli1983uk Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 mine and plattys local store is in Bexleyheath which i will be visiting 2morrow so i wills see if they have PSP's for £30.

My local store is/was Bexleyheath just like you. How strange Im sure that when i went in there the other day they hardly had any gaming stuff left to be honest.

But at that price it would be stupid not to stop by really......but I'm not going there expecting anything tbh. More of an off chance.
mario114 Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Dammit...there's no MVC in norwich really... damit, my plans of a search for the nearest MVC has allready failed Edit: after reading above, thats 3 people from Norwich in one topic, small world huh.

Freaky, never realised there were any other people from Norwich on this forum! Here's an MVC store locator.
Caris Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 i went to MVC in newcastle today, it shut down in April...
fatnickc Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 The MVC near me had a closing down sale around Christmas time, and is now (to the best of my knowledge) a different company's shop but with the same staff.
AshMat Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 they've had a sale on in mine for a week. If i'd known there were 30 quid psps i would have got one then. dam
Colin Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 So Colin did you pop into our MVC store ? Yeah I popped in there, and hadn't had any PSP's in since just before Christmas. There wasn't a lot else there either, although the girl who I asked about the PSP's said they're doing Micros with £10 off, and were also selling GC's cheap. But like you said, it looked like there was no decent stock in there, and in the small games section the discounts were very minimal. I left with a smile though, as the girl serving me was well cute, although she was bound to have a boyfriend............. So I left and got myself a Mocha in starbucks and went college..........there was no harm in trying. Did Oli stop by there at all then yesterday?
Oli1983uk Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 i didnt get a chance to stop by there, one of mine and plattys mates used to work in there!
Platty Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Ah yes Scott. He is now just a lazy bum who plays guitar.
