The choices are shamelessly nicked from Nintendolife.

You have until just after the end of the first week in the New Year to make your choice. Should give you plenty of time to play some more games. Sorry @tapedeck, I did say a thread with a poll would be better. It will give an overall visual result and show how people are voting. You can only pick one but you can obviously discuss all the other great games played throughout the year. I'd like to have 5 polls in the one thread but it's only 1 poll per thread so onwards to the next one. If the mods can merge the 5 into 1 somehow that would be great.

These threads are really making me realise how poor my gaming has been this year! Only one title off this list for me played this year(excepting Smash demo) and that's Fantasy Life! I have been rather loving it though, would def give it my vote :)

I didn't enjoy any of them very much, but I'd vote for Etrian Odyssey Untold if it was there, as it was 99.9% good. By the way, sorry to be pedantic as I know it's a lot of work making these polls, but Conception II wasn't retail - OK, maybe it was download-only retail, but it wasn't as good as Etrian Odyssey anyway.

Surprised Bravely Default counts, considering it came out December 2013.

I would have voted for that if Smash wasn't there.

Nicking and editing what I said about it from my top 10 Games of the year.

If I had to choose one version, I'd go for the one with better stages and Smash Run. Sure the controls are not ideal, but I cope with them just fine. Even with WiiU out, I still play this one more.

Other than that, do I really need to explain why I like Smash? It's Smash!

He's just copied the list from Nintendo Life, who are going by the US release dates (Bravely Default was February 2014 there, as was Layton 6).

I enjoyed this year alot! The best titles for me were Pokemon ORAS, Smash, Fantasy Life and Kirby.

Kirby triple deluxe takes the trophy home though. It was a joy from beginning to end to play, and also a perfect example

of how to utilise the 3DS hardware to it's full extend. I loved the music, visuals, minigames and the level design!
