nekunando Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Also did anyone else happen to catch Napoli v Lazio yesterday? Battle for the final CL spot, it was absolutely mesmerising. One of the best games I've seen all season. I don't really know what's going on in Italy these days I miss waking up on Saturday mornings to tune into Gazetta Football Italia.. Maybe I should start watching some of the games on BT Sport next season : peace:
Happenstance Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I see Blatter is gonna resign as FIFA president. You've gotta wonder why he even bothered to go through that rediculous vote in the first place.
MadDog Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Brilliant that he's going, hopefully someone can start cleaning fifa of corruption.
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I can't believe it! I was driving home and heard that a hasty conference had been arranged, but I did not see this coming. He's clearly involved in some of this shite. He's balls deep in it. Nothing screams, "I'm GUILTY!" louder than resigning days after you were elected. I nominate @Ramar for Presidency.
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 So, looks like Blatter is being investigated by the US as part of the corruption case. God, football is in a right state.
Ramar Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 It's no surprise. The Qatar situation has been one big joke I'll be very surprised if Blatter didn't take a back hander for it.
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 The Champions League Final tonight, folksss. I'm hoping for a Juve win. Vidal.
Phube Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 (edited) Doesn't count if no teams English are in it! Edited June 6, 2015 by Phube
MadDog Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 So happy Barca won. Very well deserved, they were easily the best team on the day. I just had no doubts they'd get the win in the end even after Juve scored.
Fierce_LiNk Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 It was a great final. Juve started off badly and a few of their players didn't keep their cool, but they eased themselves into the game and deserved their goal. Barcelona play a particular style of football and they are technically brilliant. However, I'd argue that Juve were perhaps the better team in the second half, or at least for large parts of it. However, we must also remember that they were clearly denied a blatant penalty when the score was 1-1. Barcelona pretty much went up the field and scored, I don't think Juve really fully recovered after that. It was a definite injustice.
Ellmeister Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 How Vidal wasn't sent off I don't know. What was he thinking that first 20 or so minutes?? Barca's front three are simply mesmerising at times and had enough chances, think at least 5 v 3 twice in the game which they wasted. Not quite the same spectacle as last year but still a good game of two top sides. I don't think any English team deserved to be in that final against those two. Maybe Chelsea :p

Maybe Chelsea :p Lol, I was so disappointed with Vidal and Buffon in this game. Vidal was better in the second, but he lost his head and potentially could have gone in the first 30 minutes. Morata and Pogba were the best Juve players, although I thought Lichtsteiner was pretty good and Evra had a decent second half. That front three of Barcelona is going to take some beating. Real's front three of Benzema-Bale-Ronaldo aren't as good and don't flow as well.
MadDog Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 That was never a pen for Juve. He literally had his hand resting on him, he didn't have hold of his shirt. He went down looking for it.
Ramar Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 So many average Liverpool and Man Utd players in this England side. So dull.
MadDog Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 So many average Liverpool and Man Utd players in this England side. So dull. Is there any alternatives? Everyone on that pitch for both sides were shite.
Ellmeister Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I thought Buffon had a decent game, he made a fantastic save in the first half. Unsighted and going away from him to stop Neymar's volley. He did parry Messi's shot into Suarez, but it had a bit too much fizz to be able to catch I think.
MadDog Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Roberto Firmino. Big coup that. Add a few more top players and we might be going somewhere.
nekunando Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Roberto Firmino. Big coup that. Add a few more top players and we might be going somewhere. I've genuinely never seen him play.. but then I had never witnessed Suarez before he arrived, either
Charlie Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Roberto Firmino. Big coup that. Add a few more top players and we might be going somewhere. Can you honestly say you had heard of him prior to his move to Liverpool?
Hero-of-Time Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I've genuinely never seen him play.. but then I had never witnessed Suarez before he arrived, either Haha. I was the same. Hopefully he is worth the millions that we have paid for him. I have no idea who this other striker that we are target is either.
MadDog Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Can you honestly say you had heard of him prior to his move to Liverpool? Yes. He was one of the better players in Germany.
Ramar Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Roberto Firmino. Big coup that. Add a few more top players and we might be going somewhere.:laughing: Rodgers spunking Liverpool's money down the drain again. £29m for him.. Last summer an extra £6m and being in London would have got you Alexis Sanchez!

I think it could be a good signing. Could be good, could be disappointing, who knows really? We won't know until he starts playing, but at least it's a statement of intent.
