Hero-of-Time Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Recently, third-party software developers overseas have had fewer of their best development studios develop software for handheld devices. However, for this year, the release of several key titles has already been announced, and I have also heard there are more unannounced titles to come. Also, as I mentioned on another occasion, we plan to more actively support the Japanese software developers in distributing their key titles overseas. To be more specific, as of today, such third-party titles as shown on this slide have already been announced that they will be sold in the overseas markets, and I’ve also heard that our third parties are planning to launch other software titles that they have not announced yet. With these titles in the lineup, I think that, although much later than in Japan, the overseas markets are finally ready for Nintendo 3DS to get on an ideal sales track. On the other hand, the argument continues overseas that "with the growing popularity of smart devices, Nintendo 3DS cannot penetrate the market significantly," just as had been said in Japan before "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" penetrated the market at an explosive rate. Also, I believe that at the beginning of the year, some had the view that "since Nintendo 3DS did not sell at an explosive rate at the end of last year, Nintendo 3DS has already peaked out in the Western markets." Crazy! The amount of games on the way for the thing is insane and that's without the backing of the Western studios. I wonder what's on the way then? F-Zero? Kirby? Mother?
Haden Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 This is amazing I brought the 3DS because I don't really have time for home consoles anymore. I thought I would miss home gaming but the amount of stuff on the 3ds is crazy! Such a good console.
Dcubed Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Considering that he's talking about 3rd party titles here. Fantasy Life is almost certainly one of them. I'd be surprised if Ace Attorney 5 and Layton Meets Ace Attorney didn't make it for this year as well...
Fused King Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 You have to wonder, with all these key franchises coming to the 3DS, what will they be bringing to the WiiU? Or will we be getting both a 3DS and a WiiU version (both different in their own way) like they are doing with Yoshi? Perhaps an F-Zero Visual Novel in the Techno-Punk-Steam-What have you cities and a proper F-Zero game on the WiiU? I love dreaming
Agent Gibbs Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I'd laugh if it were Final Fantasy X and X-2 that were excessively delayed on psvita, and it turns out they were delayed for multiplatform releases fat chance though but it would be funny to see a multiplatform handheld game or something, or a new Resident Evil, how about REmake on 3DS? or Twin Snakes on 3DS I can dream can't i? and with all the recent good news on 3DS surely i'm not reaching too much?
