Julius
There's a new Snow Patrol album coming out and the few songs released so far have been great, think my favourite so far is All On 8/16/2024 at 2:35 PM, Happenstance said: Really enjoying the collab between Band-Maid and The Warning at the moment Love The Warning and loved this collab, need to check out some more stuff from Band-Maid. Can't help but feel sorry for Dany's vocal cords at the start though Band-Maid are excellent, managed to see them live twice before they seemed to stop coming over here. Dice is another good song if you want somewhere to start. Edited September 6 by Happenstance
drahkon
Seems like LP is evolving with a different sound while still honoring what Chester has done. Emily is crushing it, by the way. Edit: Aaaaaaand it seems like she defended a rapist. Given Chester's history with sexual assault this seems like a terrible thing to overlook from the rest of the band. Hope a statement is coming out soon clearing things up, but for now...my hype is ruined. Edited September 6 by drahkon

Julius
One of my favourite things about YouTube is how I sometimes randomly get the most underrated songs imaginable pop up in my recommended. Thanks for listening, algorithm. S-tier album cover, S-tier song title ("Starship Syncopation", I mean come on!), holy damn is this an S-tier song. Been jamming out to it all morning. If you like Persona-type jazz music, I'll be shocked if you don't like this. There's also a noticeable hint of Daft Punk, there's straight up a part which wants to sound like it's ripped out of Donkey Kong Country, an underlying funk and groove to it all, and what should be a jumbled mess instead is this absolute treat. Sooooooooo good Edited September 21 by Julius
Cube
I don't know how I manged to miss Bear McCreary's album The Singularity, as its my favourite composer creating a load of rock/metal songs. It's a 25 track album (including an intro and some spoken word track, including one with Lee Pace, The Piemaker) with a bunch of different artists contributing. It's also got a sci-fi and nordic vibe about it and some experimental stuff, so it's pretty much my music tastes all combined. A few of my early favourites: The first main song, has Serj Tankian (System of a Down) providing the locals. One of the songs sung by the composer's brother, Brendan McCreary. He's pretty good at pulling off different styles. I really like the energy and sound of this, seems like it would fit in with a Shadow the Hedgehog game (even the lyrics work). Scottish Gaelic Slam Poetry Metal (with Bagpipes) about the erasure of the Scottish language. Performed by Billy Boyd (Pipin). It's a great album. I'm going to get the graphic novel that was released alongside it.
